This clearance deal is still continuing and in my search of Nu-Tec I found heaps in a few stores. You can price match at Officeworks to get them for $9.50.

I did a quick search and can confirm the Tasmanian stores have stock as well as a few random stores nationwide like Traraglon, Batemans Bay, Rosebud, Maroochydore, Maryborough and Smithfield. The I/N is 0091644 if you want to call up stores or check the stock API.

These wifi plugs are Tuya based and work with Google Assistant and Alexa. The downside is that they apparently do not work on 5 GHz WiFi.

    2 stores on the Gold Coast I tried are showing stock (5-20 units) but they could not find any.

    I checked every single isle looking for them.

      Sometimes they are kept on the rack behind the information desk counter. Other times they are located on the floor along the aisles.

        Yes my local had them in a box on the floor half way down the isle and not on the shelves, it was easy to miss when you scanning the shelves looking for them.

    Ask them the isle number I find if they can tell you the isle (in my 2 local stores) almost 90% success finding either as a hanging up/box down isle etc.

      See photo - typical of promotional line. They locate this type of stock where they can find space in aisles. Sometimes gets relocated.
      Staff rarely can locate promotional items.

      My local showed 1 available months ago, but staff suspect it was stolen. Being promotional, these are not restocked.

    No stock near me in my part of NSW. Have called Officeworks but they won't price match without having the item on the Bunnings website to reference, clearance items aren't covered by their guarantee. Any advice?

    I price matched these at Officeworks last time they were at $10.

    Don't bother with the Brilliant Smart app (a white-label app from Tuya), use the Tuya app natively then you get native Google Home/Assistant integrations without any extra steps.

    As stated, not 5GHz compatible but that shouldn't really be an issue for anyone.

      Or it is also possible to convert these to "non-tuya" by flashing it, which will allow you to run them using other hubs and get away from Tuya (Chinese Owned Cloud Company which will now have access to all your Tuya Devices, if you care).

      They do say they value security, but there has been quite a few hacks already, so they aren't valuing their security as much as they say.

      I run them using my Samsung Smartthings Hub after flashing them to be "non-tuya" using Tuya-Convert

          It is actually REALLY easy. No solder, As long as you have NEVER connected your plug to Tuya App. This method may not work if Tuya App has upgraded the firmware. If your device has been upgraded, then sadly your only option is Solder.

          You don't need to install Linux, just download Kali Live CD and burn it to your USB Stick using Rufus.

      Not a stupid question.

      You just need Wi-Fi, the plug and to download the app on your phone to setup.

      I have a few of these for my fans, heaters, lights, kettle etc. With Amazon device I can say "Alexa Fan 1 on" and works. So many uses I definitely recommend you get one of those devices, they are cheap anyway.

        Same with the Google home.
        If you are going to smarten your home, think about what you use most. If you have Amazon prime and always watch those shows, then go that route. If you have a ring doorbell, Alexia is a good choice as you can then see a love feed on the screened devices.
        Same with Google nest. Mixing them still works but you miss out on features

    I have a bunch of these around the house already - they're fantastic. Great for any portable fans or desktop lights you have around the house, as can set timers and activate Google home schedules with these.

        I'd say it's something along the lines of the system was reporting they had 0 and they've sold more putting it into the negative.

        Stolen, lost stock, or empty packets still show as available stock until they do a proper stock check or staff update when no stock is found.

        People pick up item & put down elsewhere… still remains on system as available, even though it can't be found.
        My local showed 1 in stock for ages, but asked staff - likely stolen. System now correctly shows 0.

        Negative stock occurs when received stock was not entered on system correctly, resulting in more sold than on system.

        Stock systems are rarely accurate!

        10 empty packets? 10 stolen ones?

        Nope. Those two cases would show a +10 stock count when there is no actual stock (and the empty packets only if the correct "waste" procedure is not followed and the stock counts have not been adjusted), until manually corrected.

        A negative stock count will generally occur in either one of two ways:

        1. A "wrong pick":
          For example, let's say there are 20 Brilliant smart plugs in the store, and the stock count correctly shows 20. Then, let's assume a carton of, say, the Arlec smart plugs is ordered. If the picker at the DC incorrectly picks a carton of the Brilliant Smart plugs instead (let's assume there's 10 in the carton), then the stock count of the Arlecs will be increased by 10 (assuming there's 10 in a carton also), but the stock count for Brilliants won't. (A similar thing occurs if one carton of the Brilliants is ordered, but two are picked instead.)
          This is because it is "too costly" to do a load validation, i.e. to scan all actually received cartons into the system (except for cigarettes in supermarkets, of course), in order to pick up on and adjust for any discrepancies. Instead the load is assumed to have been picked correctly and the stock counts are automatically adjusted according to what was ordered.
          This doesn't cause much of a problem (except for a continuing "overstock" issue) until the Brilliant becomes unavailable. Then, once all the items have been sold, the stock count will end up going to -10. (Note that some retail stores have procedures/tools in place to detect, investigate, and resolve negative stock counts, but others, like Bunnings only manually adjust negative stock counts as they come across them, usually when a customer queries them about the location/availability of a particular item - which leads us to the following.)
        2. "Zeroing" the stock count:
          Let's assume that there are 10 Brilliant smart plugs in the store, the stock count correctly shows 10, and there are none on display, as the carton has been misplaced on the "top shelf"/"mid shelf" of the wrong aisle. If a customer queries a team member (TM) for the availability of the product, and the TM is unable to find any after an exhaustive search, the TM might (or possibly is required to - not sure about Bunnings policy on this) zero the stock count (to correct it and also to trigger auto ordering of the smart plug). At some point, the misplaced carton will be found and filled, and just like in the first case above, this will eventually lead to a negative stock count.
          Same thing can happen, as Infidel has already mentioned, when customers take items of the shelves and then put them down somewhere else.

        A third way, usually very rare, and so only likely to cause a stock count discrepancy of one, is when the barcode of one item of another product gets scanned incorrectly, and the incorrect scan just so happens to result in a valid GTIN (barcode number) that matches the Brillant. Even rarer is if there's a mistake at the printers that produce the packaging, resulting in all the barcodes of another product scanning as a Brilliant smart plug! (This usually ends up in a product recall.)

        I can think of at least another, very rare way of generating negative stock counts, but I think I've bored most people already so I won't go into it. Unless I'm mistaken and get a few requests to do so, that is 😉

          It does. Both 2.4 and 5GHz are active simultaneously under the one network. Just in my experience they don't play well with these kind of products sometimes.

          I personally have a 2.4GHz network running off a separate VLAN for my smart home gear but the average user won't and mesh is becoming very common.

            @Clear: I have about 40+ wifi devices, majority IOT devices and running off 2.4GHz wifi. Also zigbee devices which also run off a 2.4 GHz mesh network. No issues with these plugs. However I do have a Ubiquity AP.

        Using the link above with the item number you get all of this information presented in JSON. Then it's just a case of putting it into a more readable format.

        I made a simple script that pulls the fields specific fields, like StoreInfo__StoreName for the store name and StockStatus__StockCount for the stock count into a CSV and converted to markdown for the table I made above. plague's website just takes it a step further with PHP.

      confirming that stock shown in your API remain unchanged whilst in Bunnings store, the stock is nowhere to be seen. this is not the issue of your code however this method can't be used for clearance products as Bunnings doesn't seem to update their inventory on them.

          I would imagine it goes into the store profits and has an impact on their targets. In saying that I've previously done contract work for OW and their management were eccentric to say the least.
