$719.10 with code applied.

Update 2
Now 12.5% cashback through Shopback.com bringing the price down to $620.76!! Now finished.

Update 3
The HP website has now updated the page as a back to school deal so it might be available for longer.

This has been online for quite a while and I am surprised that no one else has posted it yet.
Seems like quite a good deal with these specs-

Intel® Core™ i5-8265U (1.6 GHz base frequency, up to 3.9 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)
Windows 10 Home 64
13.3" diagonal FHD IPS BrightView micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)
8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (onboard)
256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD

Seems quite similar to this from JB that was $999 over the holidays but is now back to $1299.

The envy has the newer 10th gen i5 and a touch screen but other than that they seem almost the same.
Will not likely be up for much longer so better be quick.

Ended up cancelling my order due to shop back cashback uncertainty and have ordered this Dell 2 in 1 instead for my kid starting school as it has 20% off today at JB.
From what I've read the 10th gen i3 goes ok and seems to have USB-C charging. May be of interest to some of you.

This looks good too, nice find. Shame about the weight, its almost 1kg heavier. But if that doesn't bother you…its a good deal.

      • It's 1.67kg so under 400g difference and doesn't require the power brick to be lugged around (due to the USB-C charging) so should work out about the same for school use.

Also another 5% off possible if you have access to discounted JB e-gift cards via Youi, AGL rewards etc.

        • My apologies, I was looking at an older model. 1.67kgs is great!

        • Wait…4GB RAM? That's explains the lower RRP. I would definitely stay away, as much as I like the USB-C charging. The form factor is also bigger but the 14" screen has its advantages.

          • @elektron: There’s an additional ram slot available I believe, although can’t confirm that 100% yet as I’ve still to pick it up from the store.

bought one Monday night for $719 and got the shopback $79 as well.

delivered 2 days later and works awesome.

screen brightness is fine, no fan no issues. very happy with key board, size and weight etc.

i had a new asus zenbook for $899 from another deal and it went back to asus today after dying. this machine is just as good and $260 cheaper.

  • Is the SSD upgrade able on this one? If we upgrade the SSD, what should we do for the windows and all the drivers?

    • Also, does it have USB C charging?
