Would be good idea to buy these boxes and donate to bushfire affected communities.

    • Wanna donate? Donate money.

      Irrelevant post anyway.

Everybody has their own limitations and choices. If somebody wants to donate a loaf of bread then good but if somebody wants to donate 10 grands then that's good too.

Photo of inside the box would be nice OP as many deals of these types listed here are fit for the bin .

    • They're good for making wine.

    • True, bought boxes before, some of them need to go to the bin

This shop is very dodgy. Most of their shared deal on FB is rubbish quality and the rest of their non-sale items are more expensive than other shop.
I have long time black list this shop for their unethical dodgy business. If they are genuinely want to do promo, at least use a proper fruit not those fit-for-the-bin or rubbish quality type to bait and switch ppl to their shop.

      • As someone who has shopped at this place for years (before it was even called Big Watermelon), I can say you are full of it. The fruit is completely edible even during specials.

Seedless - for kids? Grape seed extract is used to treat number of diseases.
They sell the seeds at much higher price.
Let me know when they sell normal Grapes :)

Price has been jacked up now. Grapes are $20 per box and apples are $18 per box

Every food selling business is having their "smelly" sides.
The question to throw away or to sell is as dramatic as the Hamlet's "To be or not to be".
I am subscribed for this shop's emailing list so every special is emailed to me the day before. If I see something that is interesting I just pay them a short visit. If I like what they offer, I just buy as much as I like.
I visit the next door up similar shop "Pelegrino's Fresh Fruits" as well.

You can subscribe for their mailing list as well.

Shopping around for fruits and veggies is the best way to get a good deal. It is not realistic to expect a single place to give you a below the market price every time you shop there. They'll be out of business soon.

Last time I was at the Big Watermelon Bushy Park it was the middle of November. I've loaded my car with watermelons 50 cents per kilo - the best quality you can get. The Jumbo Calypso Mangoes were $25 for a tray of 18.
I've stored them in cool place at home and we were enjoying them up until last week.

It is not always about the bargain, it is more what you can do with the bargain.

  • Haha, reading this (now it’s expired) as expired grapes. I was thinking why would anyone want them, then I realised it was the deal that’s expired not the grapes haha

    • Correct.
The deal was from yesterday's offer $15 for the tray of grapes.
After a whole day yesterday selling a grapes for as low as $2 per kilo the leftovers were displayed today for sale.
