    Personal favourite from this week's catalogue - Campbells Real Stock 1L at $2.29 - if I remember correctly, they are usually still $2.50 each when they're on sale at Coles or Woolies, and it's usually a 4 for $10 or 2 for $5 deal.

      That brand has urinal overtones in my experience, I prefer stock cubes over the liquid packs.

          Massel stock cubes don't seem to be made out of real stuff when you check the ingredients - e.g. chicken stock - there's no chicken…

          I'd rather have the real stuff thanks :) I use campbells liquid stock if I don't already have some homemade stock in the freezer, and I only buy the low salt chicken or vegetable packs as I find the regular ones too salty.

          No offence intended, everyone has their preferences and I'm not trying to sell Campbells :) Do continue to use Massel if you prefer them.

          All the liquid or 'real stock' brands just taste like reconstituted stuff to me anyway; despite what the pack says. My point is that the lack of animal matter does not impact on the flavour!

          I think the only way to get real stock is to make your own! I'd just rather not pay extra for the water & carry it home from the supermarket when you're really only getting stock powder anyway! ;)

    I went there yesterday and the woolworths at Abbotsford had Magnum Dark Temptations for $7.99 50%($8) off as well, was standing there for 30 seconds thinking about buying it.

    I am not sure that prices for fresh veges or meat represent specials or should be included in these lists. They generally reflect market prices of the commodities which fluctuate most significantly based on supply but also occasionally on demand. reporting of these specials is simply falling for the spin of the supermarkets rather than representing bargains.

    Too much info in this post for me.
    I already know that supermarkets have a sale every week. Don't need this in Ozbargain.
    Much easier to look at the catalogue (either from letterbox or online).

      What annoys me is they post only Coles and Woolworths. Enough money goes to them out of our pockets.
