    • How did you get $10 off per month via online chat?

      • I just told them I was promised a $10 discount for new customers in store. Didn’t take much convincing thankfully.

    • You just were in the JB store and told them the Telstra online chat promised you $10 off and they did it? Probably try this tomorrow if that's how you did it.

      • Other way around. Told the Telstra chat that the in-store team told me I will get $10/mo off the new plan because I was a new customer.

        • How did you manage to still obtain a gift card then? They did it through the telstra chat or?
Sorry for the questions, just wanting to do it myself haha.

Edit: Or did you just sign up in store, obtain the gift card, then jump on live chat when you got home and they dropped the price?

          • @mindkill: This one

just sign up in store, obtain the gift card, then jump on live chat when you got home and they dropped the price

  • Keep an eye on your gift cards…

    • Where?

  • FWIW I swapped form Optus last month to try and come back to Telstra and take advantage of this deal.

I was told that I need to wait 1 month before coming back and also that the $400 is perpetually on offer, the $500 offer pops up from time to time.

  • I am paying $35 for 55g of data with Telstra. Not sure if this is better.

  • My previous 24mth contract is due to end in December, but in need of a new phone. Does anyone have any experience with getting JB to waive termination fees in the last quarter of the contract (I know Vodafone used to do this)?

I've spoken to Telstra chat, and the My24/7 folk have got to be the worst support team I've ever had to deal with. Every issue has been like pulling teeth! Suffice to say, Telstra want nothing to do with discussing end of term, they're referring me to JB HiFi…

Telstra also quote a handset payout figure, and a contract payout figure, however in my contract info in My24/7 it shows handset $0 and lists a different amount for the contract to that of Telstra (marginal, but different). Trying to get to the bottom of this via chat has led absolutely nowhere and I gave up.

Appreciate anyone's experience with anything I've mentioned here!

  • does anyone know cancellation fees?

  • i cant decide if i should port ! I'm with Optus on a $40 a month with 80gb and international roaming 1GB which is super handy. Currently got a s10e so not sure if it's worth upgrading to the s10

  • $55 per month now; saw this in JB Hurstville

  • Do you guys reckon it would better to wait for a better offer until EOFY?

    • It’s EOFY now …
