  • Now I'm getting tax invoice for both my CPU and mobo, but tracking number stays the same. Seller hasn't responded so far today since last time I got a response on Friday. Can't open resolution until tomorrow anyway.

    • I also just recieved the tax invoice. But has not updated

    • I got a tax invoice also, the delivery method said P.O.D (Pay On Delivery) on the invoice.

      • I got an invoice too. Don't know why the terms are COD. Still no updated tracking number.

        • Same, no update on tracking number since last monday

          • @Room Temperature: I'm getting more worried and more worried as time goes on cause. I do actually want the cpu.

            • @Elanzer: Just open up the eBay Resolution, and this will get their attention. I guess worst comes to worst, you probably have to shop elsewhere and get your money refunded. If past 30 days and the seller hasn't responded, and you haven't open the eBay resolution, you will be the losing end (lost your money and no CPU). Unless if you want to go through Paypal hassles (for more than 30 days) but anything past 30 days, I think the sales will be a dud anyway.

              • @cloudie9: I opened a case yesterday…I have half a build sitting there waiting for the CPU and RAM. Hopefully something good comes of it

                • @bbourizk: I have new case, cooler and ram sitting waiting for my CPU and mobo. If I can't get it, I guess no sweat, just keep using my i7-6700k until another deal pops up…

                  • @cloudie9: Same…but it was good deal so hopefully we all get one.

        • Same here… Got an invoice stating COD. Also, its shows the price as being 665, when I only paid 600 for it. Something shady going on here

          • @bpop99: The invoice is the amount before the ebay coupon, it’s the amount they get as the rest is paid by eBay/PayPal or whomever. Same on all these eBay sales.

            • @Pobman: Thanks @Pobman I just got a refund initiated by FTC via their PayPal account

              • @bpop99: Did you initiate/ request for a refund or they just do it?

                • @cloudie9: THey just initiated a refund on mine too. I did have a did not recieve case open but specified I wanted the item, not a refund.

                  • @jayel: That's crap, oh well, time to shop elsewhere(still waiting for the outcome of my request, probably leaning towards cancellation and refund!)

Edit: Yup, refund just came through, guess its a dud sales afterall. Time to shop elsewhere…

                    • @cloudie9: My refund was just created and it says its still pending and will be so until the 5th of Feb. Did you already receive your funds?

                      • @bpop99: Same, have to wait until next week, via eCheque Paypal!

                      • @bpop99: While the ebay email says money clears 5th of Feb, the Paypal email of the refund says cleared by 31st of Jan.

                • @cloudie9: I opened a request via Ebay last week. If you're not confident they can deliver and you'd like to request a refund, I suggest opening a case / request on Ebay

  • Bought the cpu elsewhere, still waiting on my refund been pending on paypal for over a week. Looks like he isnt releasing the funds or doesnt have the funds.

    • where did you get it from?…did you file an ebay case as well?

    • Where else did you buy it???

    • Shite, now I'm worried - I thought this would be a case of just a delay in shipping (which I am happy to wait for) but the seller hasn't even shipped the item

  • Still holding out for a delivery here, bought a motherboard and ram just for this new 3900x + 2080s build. If they don't I guess im gonna be stuck with my 960 for a little while longer :/

    • In the same position, this slipped into my budget so jumped on it, though II then realized I would need to up the specs on motherboard, ram, and cooling to get the most out of this cpu. Everything is ready to go except for 3900X and 2070s. I'm happy to wait as I've already waited this long but they just need to communicate an ETA to manage expectations. having all the listings disappear and the website down will spook customers.

      • People keep saying their website is down but it loads fine for me, and always has. Ironically the stuff I ordered is marked as in stock even lol…

        • Their site was down until Tuesday so it made me think they were closing shop with orders unfulfilled. Their site now has the 2070 super I ordered listed as in stock too but priced at $1717.

          • @jayel: Yeah I checked every time somebody said the site was down and it opened up, perhaps they changed hosts and DNS was propagating.

lol to that new price :D :D :D

            • @Pobman: And my ordered just cancelled and refunded

        • Yeah, I've never had an issue with their website when others have said it was down. On Telstra, both 4G and FTTP.

I haven't had a cancellation yet. Still holding out hope it gets fulfilled. I paid with a giftcard via ZipPay so I'm stuck with eBay-only money if they refund, which blows. I have a graphics card order with them too (Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC).

  • Just got refunded $665 for the CPU.
I still have ram from them… hopefully that turns up..now we need a decent deal on another cpu.

    • Did you get more than you paid back. I.e $665?

      • +1

I got back 665.10 so yes more than I paid.
Look like they refunded the amount before discount. I also noticed ram has been refunded too.

        • Looks like we’re getting the voucher free money back but hey it’s via echeque so I’m not very familiar with that. Could be another dud refund…

        • Probably still cheaper to refund the pre-discount amount than fulfill the order.

Paypal Refunds have been issued for 2 of the 3 items I purchased, cash is pending until tomorrow.

    • I ordered the CPU and GPU in two separate orders. I initiated a request two days ago about the GPU and today it got refunded but the CPU order is still active…

      • It's been one big (profanity) up.
I received MB and GPU from them.
M.2 drives ordered from them came from umart online.
        CPU and RAM refunded.

      • Trying to get my CPU order refunded now. Absolutely sick of waiting. Gonna save some money buying a 3600 instead

  • People who said they were refunded. Is the money back into your account ?
As i posted earlier refund has been pending for over a week for me.

    • I got refunded, via Paypal eCheque, and there are two ETAs:-

      eBay: Refund by 31/01
      Paypal: Refund by 5/02

So I take it as worst case scenario, 5/02.

      • At this point, I'm fully expecting the eCheque to be declined at this point. It looks like FTC are doing everything in their power to delay everything. Will likely have to do a chargeback.

  • Update.

    Refund has been paid.
Refund was the total i paid after discount. So $598.59 will be your refund

    • Well that is shit

    • Are you sure you actually got the refund? I have a pending refund in paypal but it still hasn't cleared yet.

      • yeh minds pending and its not cleared either

  • Issued a refund since it's been more than 2 weeks now.
Won't deal with them any time soon.

    • Are you sure you actually got the refund? I have a pending refund in paypal but it still hasn't cleared yet.

      • I haven't check, with all the evidence presented to ebay I don't think there will be an issue with the refund.
It's just a waste of time and effort.

  • I just recieved a PayPal email saying the refund was not successfully processed…where to from here?

  • I really have some bad luck here.

So I requested that the transaction be cancelled and the payment be refunded.

It looks like they accepted the request through eBay, and their PayPal account is at the moment empty. So since the PayPal account was empty, then PayPal issues a eCheque on their bank. And that normally takes a couple of days to process. Now the transaction is not guaranteed and has a chance of being bounced back when the account has no money in the bank account.

I just received notification today that the refund got cancelled. And that looks like simply because the bank account itself does not have any more money left to accept and clear the check.

So I have since requested a chargeback by credit card and it looks like on my credit card it has been cleared already. So I would advise anyone that is waiting for a refund to clear, to simply go to your credit card and initiate a chargeback.

  • Has anyone else had an issue getting their refund?

Opened an ebay case last week and a refund was initiated.
Today got an email from paypal:
A refund for the following transaction from HHJC Trading Pty Ltd wasn't processed successfully.
If you've been expecting this refund, please contact HHJC Trading Pty Ltd to issue the refund again.

    • same here…..

      • As I mentioned in my message just above, it looks like their bank account has no more money. So even if they were to initiate a refund again it will simply bounce back again.

        • but I'm using the ebay gift card to purchase this cpu
what should I do to get my money back?

          • @williswill: I’m not sure what you can do, you could only talk to PayPal and see what they say, or talk to eBay. But I’m not seeing much hope, since neither of them have any money to hand back to you.

            • @RNDM: Ironic thing, when I spoke to Paypal last week, and predicted that I may not get my money back because of eCheque, I've threatened to go to the bank for the chargeback, straight away they told me, its a fraud. But I said if I don't get my money back, then who else can help me? Anyway, I wait for the fail refund then I go straight to bank.

              • @cloudie9: I too was also expecting this, simply because everything that they have done so far. That is only after some of these events started happening.

Simply the fact that they took their time to notify anyone of shipment and tracking details, and then even going as so far as to not actually dispatch the item. Leaving it for weeks with no update, no dispatch. And then proceeding to leave people hanging, Awaiting refund and then even excepting the refunds but only with a eCheque.

It seems like this whole thing was planned from the very beginning.

                • @RNDM: Just went to my eBay Resolution page and the "ask eBay to step in" is now available. So let's see what eBay has to say, under the eBay Guarantee policy.

              • @cloudie9:

I've threatened to go to the bank for the chargeback, straight away they told me, its a fraud.

I think they're looking at the lens of getting both a refund on paypal and a refund from the bank. Now that the refund on PayPal has been cancelled, there's no way that's fraud at all. I've raised a dispute on PayPal - and if that is rejected I'll go straight to my card provider to chargeback properly

  • Kind of ironic now that the slogan on their website is 'Gaming or Nothing' …

  • Got an email saying that the refund failed as well. I paid 2 orders, one using paypal and the other with a debit card.
Will either ebay or paypal able to send back the money or do I need to go to fhe bank to have this sorted ?

    • As per RNDM post above, just go straight to bank for assistance. eBay and Paypal is useless at this point. They probably will tell you to contact seller again, hopeless bunch. (That's what they told me last week when I queried the eCheque concerns).

      • This is awful, large companies like PayPal and eBay are definitely insured for these losses and we should demand that they stick to their buyer protection policies such the following https://pages.ebay.com.au/ebay-money-back-guarantee/. They make a fortune every second of every day charging fees and should be held to their word refunding customers as per their policies. I regret buying from FTC and posting deals, thought they were ok after I got a few items from them last year

      • Yeah.. got my refund back but seriously, this is the worst eBay experience ever. I ended up getting my CPU and mobo from local brick and mortar shop. Pays more but support local business and easier warranty access.

        • +1

Yep, definitely the worst for me as well, gave it more than enough time.
Heading off to buy CPU, GPU and Mobo locally now.

    • I would say your best option is to go to the bank. Neither PayPal or eBay have any money to hand you, and the refund failed simply because the electronic check that was made out to FTC bank account had no money.

This is why sometimes PayPal opt to withhold funds on merchant accounts To allow for instances where the merchant is not running a legitimate business. But I guess in this instance, FTC probably had sufficient history so it looks like they have emptied out their PayPal account and they’re linked bank accounts.

      • The refund on mine has been cancelled and I paid with a debit card. I'm furious that this company can get away with this fraud

        • An update on this: I called up Ebay and they initiated a refund. The refund is now in my account

  • A quick update.
