  • WXGA is a big bonus.. not FullHD which you really do need for top quality. I have an XGA unit which does the job nicely although you can see the pixellation on brightly lit scenes.

  • +1

    I'm running 1280 x 720 on a 120" screen and it is fine.

Sure, I would love 1920 x 1080 but in reality 99% of the source material we watch is 720p or lower.

I would suggest a native 1280 x 720 projector if you can find one.

    • haha same point i was just making and see after i clicked post!! well said

  • If this is similar to my Infocus, which is a few years old now, but is 1280x720 not 1280x800, it should be fine for 90-100" from 3m viewing distance.
on the FullHD comment yes they are sharper, but from my experience depending on price it's not always better value.
my friend has an epson 3200 i think, which he bought a while back, and it's full hd. yet when he came to my place for the first time and asked me about my projector, he just assumed mine cost more and was better than his. when i told him half the price, half the res and half the physical size, he was really surprised. i have to say, ive seen his in action and it doesnt impress me any more than mine, especially when i think about the price. epson 3600 fans will no doubt disagree, but i would agree with them the 3600 is better than mine, yet a bit more than $600. but again specs on paper, vs what you see in your eyes can differ.

i think any projector that can do some HD and around $600 is definitely a good investment if you dont have one and want a cheap option for large screen movies.

  • Heh, staticice lists replacement bulbs from $560 to $638.

Is the entire projector minus bulb really only worth $50? :)
