This is perfect for my car's dashcam! It is unfortunately only USB 2.0, but this fits perfectly!

    • Your car has a USB A Female port?

      • Yes, for the dash cam and music. Unfortunately the usb port is only 2.0, so this one is fine.

        • Tesla? What car is it, if you dont mind me asking? Yeah, USB 2.0 should be fine, but I wouldnt know how long the cheap flash memory would manage under the constant read/write. Still, 64GB for $9 …

@meatgasm: Yeah Tesla. I know the constant read/write is going to wear it out, but at USB 2.0 speeds, it will take a long time to write 64GB. Plus, I hope never to need to use the dashcam footage.

@ozbking: I thought they allowed recording of multiple camera that are placed around the car. I suppose it might depend on the model, but I thought it was available on the Model 3.

The read and write speeds can vary greatly between USB sticks.

Also dashcam video isn't just about recording a crash. You should keep the video for at least a couple of months in case you are charged with speed or red light camera offence and it comes via snail mail.

              • @whats up skip: You'll need a whole lot more than 64GBs for a month. My A119c is has a 128GB card and that stores about 4 days of data. But I do use parking mode so it does record a lot whilst the car isnt moving.

                • @meatgasm: With the 64GB in my dashcam I have to copy the files off every 5 to 7 days. Then I save them in my Google Drive. Of course if we drive the car more then we need to copy the files off more frequently.
