Interesting to read the comments in here…… people attempting to be politically correct for fear of not being politically correct. Bottom line if something is worth watching you will get charged to see it. If it's not then it's FREE…. Could you imagine the state schools attempting to charge entry fees to the school carnival??? There is no doubt WAFL has its merits and fantastic to see women involved in sport (whichever sport) but people will not spend money to support a sport just because women are playing. Vice versa how many women would pay money to watch men playing netball?

born and raised in Melbourne and played footy right through School, despite being pretty hopeless. Have always loved the game, even as the Blues have bumped along the bottom of the ladder year after year. But until about a few years back, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that my daughter would now be playing AFL while my son plays soccer. We've had AFLW players come along to training and games at my daughter's club, great stuff. Thanks for the reminder OP - our family will be going again to some of the games this season. Love the game, and seeing girls playing it so bloody well.
