Respirator Mask for Toddlers/Children PM2.5 + Virus and Bacteria Protection $28.74 (Was $47.80) + Shipping @ Cambridge Mask

14

With the rumours flooding WeChat and WhatsApp chain spam amongst the Chinese community about where the coronavirus is in Australia I thought it best to hunt for some more masks for my family. Unfortunately stock of Cambridge masks from their local distributor has been depleted so had to order some from their UK/US site. Stock is selling like hotcakes. Fortunately some of their toddler/children sizes are on sale for $28.74AUD plus postage down from $47.80AUD. postage worked out to be about $70AUD for 4 masks which is crazy expensive but at least these masks last for up to 6 months and advertise protection against viruses and bacteria with independent lab verification.
I did some basic Google research and was going to buy Vogmasks but they specifically say they won't protect against viruses and bacteria.
I can't vouch for quality or effectiveness but probably better than nothing.

Are you sure only Box Hill? Why don’t avoid all major cities as well. Going rural.

International shipping, are you prepared to wait for these overpriced masks??

What about the adults, who will look after the kids if they survive?

Some big claims made by them regarding efficacy and longevity. Claims that aren't even made by proper p100 3M filters on respirators.

Bro [Surgical] masks without P2, N95 or N98 rating are more to protect others from yourself, they dont protect you from others. And they only last up to 10 hours. No way this thing can go months

Pretty sure toddlers don't have strong enough lungs to use masks, would not recommend without talking to your doctor.

As with almost all infectious diseases, and like it was with SARS, people tend to go crazy for masks while ignoring the real cause of crosscontamination: dirty hands that go into eyes, mouth and nose.

Wash your hands frequently, avoid touching public stuff, if paranoid carry a hand sanitizer and/or gloves and/or a mask.

Masks help a little IF you keep your hands clean. Keeping them clean alone works much more than wearing a mask. Not keeping them clean is top 1 issue.

Ah, and alcohol spray wash daily that grubby mobile of yours, it is the most disgusting thing we carry around all the time. It's worse than a toilet seat (seriously).
