I was just browsing and found this case with rgb for lot cheaper then other stores. It was actually $127 but got bumped up as soon as I bought it. This price is still good and don't forget the 12% cashback from Shopback.

There is white version too for $166.96.

Nah. For less (only $100), I will go with Phanteks Eclipse P300A. Coupled with proper non-RGB fans, it won't be an inferno like this in the summer.

    • Could you please provide the link? Thanks

    • Is one fan enough? Or do I need to factor in some extra costs for additional fans?

I was weighing this Phantek against Pure Base 500. Any thoughts?

      • Personally I would advise to buy 2-4 additional high quality fans regardless of the case. The corsair ML120 or ML140 can be bought in pair for around $40 which move lots of air and quiet at sub 1000rpm. Bequiet fans looks better IMO and run quieter, but a bit more expensive.

From reviews I've seen the 460x airflow isn't too bad because there's quite a large space between the front of the fans and the tempered glass. Corsair fans are egregiously overpriced though, replacing 3 of them could cost more than the case itself lol.

As for the P300a it's less but only has the one 120mm rear fan. I'd rather spend an extra $50 and get the Cooler Master H500 for $149. Bigger case, better looking case, better airflow, comes with a complete fan set up and the CM fans are only a little worse than noctua but don't look like vomit.

Neither suit my needs as they have the switches and USB ports on the top. I upholster the top of my PC cases and use then as a foot stool while I surf/game. OK, it limits your cooling options but mmmm, footstool.

    • Up-vote for foot stool. Definitely a good use for otherwise a useless component!

        useless component

Probably most useful component of a PC

Cable management is a nightmare with this case, have one myself.

    • I think thermal is also not good as it can only breathe through tiny side slots.

      • You can also add another intake fan on the top of the case, includes a magnetic filter.

Quite the contrary, thermal and noise is pretty good for this case. I made a build with 3x bequiet silent wing 3 in front and 1 at rear. The thermal result is not far off of Fractal Meshify C (1-2C difference on a RTX2080) with the same fan configuration.

I dont have any issue with cable management, but then I only have 1 HDD, the 2 NVME drives remove lots of cable management effort.

The only issue is that the screws that hold the temper glasses feel fragile. They make lots of screeching noise when screwing, and create a crushing noise when tightening against the glasses. The meshify C I have currently feel much more rock solid.

  • I had also bought this in white for previous build. It has good airflow but I had installed 3 outtake fans on top and the back.
But cable management is kinda difficult in the back if you dont organize.
