Makes using tv Box so much easier …

  • +4

I have received the same offer with the same code so it is not a single use.
    Good for your Android TV.

    • I have received a “unique code”
      92653201080

  • +15

I get the benefit in terms of size, but I wish keyboard makers would stop cramming the up and down arrow keys like that. It still annoys me on mine.

    • +1

This. Also, the backspace button is so miniscule it's like they expect me to be a perfect typist in the dark lol

      • Oh yes, that does my head in too. And del is so close to it, sometimes I hit the wrong one and delete the wrong characters.

  • Would this work with the Nvidia shield. My remote has gone dodgy of late.

  • how longs the battery life?

    • +2

depends on your battery and usage

on light/medium usage - daily video watching
ie not doing any major typing or gaming

i use eneloops (regular not the pro) and i haven't had to recharge/swap batteries for over well over a year

*just noticed this is the plus model i have been using the regular one
not sure if this makes any difference

      • The battery life for the Logitech K400 is one year.

The battery life for the K400 Plus gives you a few extra months, with an overall battery life of 18 months.

    • +1

Been using for more than 6 months without changing batteries. Use daily.

    • Long enough that I can't remember when I last changed the batteries. I have had the previous version for years. I expect this to be the same.

    • Logitech says non-rechargeable batteries are good for up to 18 months of use

  • Does this operate with the Logitech USB Unifying Receiver?

    • +1

Yes, comes with one, or can pair with an existing one.

  • I assume it works with Mac OSX? Doesn't mention it anywhere.

    • +1

Yep. Might lose functionality of some of the dedicated buttons but I've had one for years for my Mac Mini and does everything I need it to.

      • Exactly what I wanted it for. Mac Mini setup in my media room. Work well?

        • +2

Yep, once you get used to the windows-named keys. I pretty much just use it for moving my legally digitally purchased movies and tv series around, so it's not heavily used and I seem to get years out of a set of batteries.
The on/off switch is handy for the toddler who likes to bash away at it also.

It's been dropped, sat on, had drinks spilled on it, really has been put through it's paces. Yeah it now rattles when you shake it but it still works perfectly.

  • +1

I have one and it's a great keyboard. Works with my Sony Bravia android tv for Viva TV and also the unifying usb receiver has a small profile and easily plugs into the back of Xiaomi tv box. Its essential in searching for movie titles and even more so when you get an annoying add to click on the upper corner X to close ads in Viva TV app!
Yes also works with Mac although the keys are Win so will have to look up the conversion for key combos.
As a plug-and-play device, the downloadable Logitech Options software indeed pairs the keyboard with a Mac, but without customized control options.

  • Excellent keyboard :)

  • How does this compare to a Rii K12+?
The mousepad on the Rii ist horrible and looking for a replacement.

    • Haven't used the rii, but the track pad on this works fairly well, decent buttons to click and reasonably responsive, not too laggy either I guess. I use a wireless mouse primarily though, but for media use it'll be better than remotes for TV's imo.

  • +1

Does it direct control TV? Like without PC

    • +1

It does my android Sony tv. Directly plugs into any usb port. Use it instead of my tv remote.

    • +1

It usually works on a smart TV. Or using a (Smart) TV box on a dumb TV.

  • +1

I use this product in my workplace IT server rack, :) - Never had a problem.

  • It's coming up as $69 with limited stock for me now.

    • +4

Use the coupon 92653201080 at checkout :)

      • Oh of course, oops.

  • does this work with xiaomi box
    ?

    • Almost certainly - it just shows up as a keyboard and mouse, no drivers required.

Edit: The webpage says it woks on Android 5.2+, so it should be fine.

      • thanks

  • +1

Good price for the keyboard. The touchpad is a bit laggy (low resolution) and is frustrating to use when you are trying to fine-move the cursor head.

    • Touch pad is pretty average.
Just got this last week from JB.. to replace an older model the kids broke.

I think I might try to return it if the code is still active by tomorrow.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Was about to buy one yesterday at full price!!

  • anyone know off hand if this supports a QNAP nas or a PS4?

  • Sweet. I use a K380 with a Logitech MX 2S mouse on my main tv. This new one will be great for my other tv.

Edit: When I choose to go to payment it just looks for stock then goes back to the same page. Anyone else have issues with this? The only stores for pickup are in QLD.

edit: Finally worked for some reason.

    • How? I only see QLD pick up as well.

      • I had to choose delivery. But I still had issues until I went to pick up then back to delivery.

    • +6

Apply the coupon listed in the OP…

These are great keyboards, very practical to use so I brought a few over the years. I have dropped them many times, and they keep working.

  • grabbed one for the TV, it is easier than using an on screen keyboard for searching on netflix/plex, I don't love the little ones. I figure its also handy as a spare keyboard if i am setting up a computer rather than stealing my main computers one.

  • None available at my local. Sad times.

    • Me neither, still cheaper than elsewhere with delivery

    • wowsers you are right, only 3 or 4 stores showing AU wide..
      guess its delivery option only..
wonder why nobody has any in store.. weird..

      • most got click n collect assigned.

      • I went in store and bought the last one at Hurstville.

Back home to see the next available store is 712.31 km away at Toowoomba.

  • does this only work on android TVs? I have a LG that runs WebOS

    • +1

I use mine with a Playstation 4 and it works perfectly. So, I would imagine anything that is compatible with a USB keyboard and mouse would be fine.
I'm not sure if the special buttons like "Home" would work, but most functions would.

  • Anyone know if this works with Apple TV over Bluetooth? Thanks

    • It's not Bluetooth.

  • Thanks OP. no stock at any of my local store but still pretty cheap with $5 delivery added so ended up getting it anyway.

  • +1

Don't forget to price beat in Officeworks, works out to $32.78

    • Genius!

    • +1

      They don’t beat coupons?

      • Hmm, might have to ask the most inexperienced cashier ;-) see if they will.
I usually Officeworks to price beat MSY for anything on clearance there. Still remember the look on their faces when they price beat a Razer Blackwidow keyboard on clearance at MSY :-)

      • Yep tried this morning, flat out refused as it was a coupon. As ArnoldisComing mentioned below, need to luck out on an inexperienced cashier.

  • Rubbish no stock anywhere in VIC :(

  • On this topic… I am searching for the lightest portable bluetooth keyboard for travel. Anyone got any experience on that front? Around 200-250g would be the goal if possible

  • +2

Those arrow keys are a dealbreaker for me when I feel like I'll be using them a lot. Otherwise looks pretty nice

  • +1

    Nearest to Melbourne is Maroochydore.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one, $4 shipping and a 3 week wait is OK by me.

  • +1

I've been using one of these for over a year and it's a good keyboard when you're connected to a TV

  • anyone have recommendations for a keyboard for my iPad? needs to be bluetooth, no dongle .

    • see my post above. I was looking for the same above mate.

  • Anyone using this with a Samsung RU7100?

Im amazed at why this post didnt get the same upvotes.
    Logitech K400 Plus BLK/WHT Keyboard $34.30 @ JB Hi-Fi

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/465005

    Why is that?

    • +4

      It's all about the marketing.

"I was looking for this keyboard. It was $49 but now reduced to $34.30 part of the red hot deal."

      • Your one looks like a 30% off saving.
      • Doesn't have much description in the post

This one is 20c dearer, but looks like a 50% off saving.
+ A lot more effort in the post.

      Consumers are strange..

I use the excellent NVIDIA SHIELD app to control the keyboard and mouse on the tv for anyone who uses the NVIDIA shield. I haven't tested it with other android boxes/TVs but I'm sure there are IP remotes/keyboards for that purpose.

This could be good for ps4 though.

    • +1

Thanks for this, I had no idea this existed for the Shield.

  • Can I use this for the Hisense R8 TV? I am not really sure because this is not an Android TV but it is a smart TV with their own OS.

  • Now showing as "Awaiting stock".

  • +1

I persuaded Officeworks to price match this offer.

    • Well played! I wonder if you posted the receipt if they’d price match themselves?

      • hehe doubt it. but I just flashed around the web link and the coupon. Half the time they don't care that much as long as it is an Australian retailer

  • I feel stupid asking but the local JB would not sell for the discounted price. How can I get the discount ?

    • +1

You have to order online and use the coupon code shown at the top of this page.

  • -2

This is a really shit keyboard, it will not last long.

I know as ozbargainers alot of people tend to spend their money on anything - especially shit products, but please don't buy this.

    • +2

I don't think anyone is using this as their main computer keyboard … For a TV keyboard for easier content searching it completely fine.

  • Did anyone get a screenshot for the coupon barcode to use in-store?

    • +1

      Here is the original barcode.
