    OLD MODEL forget about it

    • What's the latest one?

    • +1

Old model? I recently purchased the 4 camera kit from jb when it went under $1000. Kit is great does what it states. Contemplated buying the 2 camera kit for the extra cameras. Can you give more info on your comment? I was under the impression this is latest model from eufy 😞

      • Do you recommend this from your experience so far? Thinking of getting this

        • +5

I do recommend them. The setup was easy and the installation for 4 cameras mounted outdoor took maybe 20mins. Pic quality is good, motion sensor is good, notifications is quick and signal strength is great (our home is double brick furthest camera is 20m away from basestaion). A big selling point for me was no ongoing fees for cloud storage, videos can be saved easily to mobile. I dont think the eufy 2c model is really a step up but dont own so not sure. Only regret at this point is not knowing about newer model in US, i may have waited but again happy with product purchased

I would recommend them. I installed 2 months ago and it was great. The battery did not drop a bit, still full bar. I would wait when Amazon drop the price and combine with 20% off when purchasing with Alexa product, so bring the price down to about $330 for 2 cameras version.

Image is clear, notification nearly instant. I like the idea of the picture is store in the physical router inside your house. So if the theft steals your camera, you still have some images/videos of them.

          • @codinghelloworld: I have been eyeing for a camera system for a while, can you please share what alexa products to go with such purchase? So i can keep an eye out for it on amazon in the future, thanks

@aBitTooEasy: Yes, sure. I used the Echo show 5, just remember you need to add Skill (Eufy skill) to your Alexa. So Alexa can understand when you say "Alexa, show me front door".

I have these, very easy to setup, decent quality, no cloud storage

Eufycam 1 and 2c are almost the same with exception of the Homebase.
Human recognition are both there which reduce amount of false alarm greatly.
        Homekit support is also there.

Eufycam 2 is the one to get , but not sure when Anker bringing it to Aus.

Ran the 2c along with Arlo Pro 2 , I can say the 2c are much better with lower price.
Better IR at night, human recognition, offline storage (still records event when internet is down. Same like having your normal NVR ), direct Homebase to camera connectivity (= I can live stream my front door without going thru the internet like Arlo pro2 does)

I dont know about you, but I rarely buy old tech for more price :)

        • The eufycam 1 cameras have a substantially longer battery life however!

This is the latest model of AU stock you can buy.well in US, they have eufy cam 2

      • Bummer, thanks for info.

    • I wouldn't immediately rule it out because of this. There are advantages and disadvantages to the new model. I have both these ones and the new model and to be honest I prefer these old ones. Firstly you have double the battery life, inbuilt alarm and it comes with 2 mounting brackets (I like to move my internal one around on the magnetic brackets). The spotlight on the new one is useless.

newest model and cheaper https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/eufy-2c-wire-free-hd-secu… . the one in post is first generation old model.

    • +5

Only 180 day battery life. No battery backup in the home base. No anti-theft alarm.

      • +3

        Plus only outdoor mount.

    • +3

New cheaper model only has a 6 month charge capacity and less features

The one's linked here are for the 2c which is a step down.
Worse battery (365 vs 180) but you get the home base 2 which allows for tethering to other home base 2's to expand the range and it has no expandable storage.

That said, I do own a set and need to set it up but I see it being worthwhile in the long run.

    • Older model is way better in my opinion (I have both). On the old one, you have double the battery life, inbuilt alarm and it comes with 2 mounting brackets (I like to move my internal one around on the magnetic brackets). The spotlight on the new one is useless and only marginally better image quality. The home base on the old unit also has 12 hour battery backup (which the new one doesn't). Given all the technology that has been stripped out of the newer model, you would expect it to be much cheaper.

    • No the older model is better in my opinion. See my posts above.

New model 2c vs first generation of course new model has more technology improved. try compare both before buy old expensive model good luck

  • I am trying to decide if this or Ring, any suggestions?

I also have this setup, bought 3 cams on sale at Amazon with Echo, and it's been a good experience. The only issue I have is in relation to motion detection - but that's possible an issue with expectation on my end rather than product.

Motion detection works fine for the camera at my front door with slow moving humans, however, the camera at my driveway doesn't pick up entering vehicles. I'm the first property of two which share a driveway and my garage is at my rear. If the neighbour drives in fast enough, it entirely misses the driveway camera motion detection - I catch them with my external garage camera though.

Otherwise easy to use, easy to setup, battery still all in the green after 3ish months.

This is a relatively standard price these days for this bundle however still not a bad price.

  • Any know a good mount that you can use on these?
I didnt find the mounts that came with this to be that great.

  • Anyone know whether you could buy 2 of these kits to make a single 4 camera setup? (eg have a spare Homebase)

    • yes you can

  • Just bought the Eufycam with 2 cameras. Surprise to find out that the camera itself is v2 (with improved Sony sensor), and homebase is v1 (with battery backup and microsd card). So, for those who don't need homekit, may be the best of both world.
