    Wow that's really cheap

  • +1

Has anyone used this before? Any good?

    • +1

Pretty cheaply made going by reviews, its just an activity tracker and HR monitor but actually looks like a watch.

      • +5

No hr on this model… It records sleep and movement. Basically an electronic pedometer in a nice watch face.

        • Oh damn good pick up, too many models to keep track of

        • does it record how many times you wake up?

          • @lostn: Yes it does. Deep sleep, light sleep and wake up moments

      • So like a Xiaomi band 4?

        • +2

No, the Withings actually looks like a watch.

          • @onlinepred: But all other functions are comparable to the Xiaomi band?

            • +1

@cerealsmok3r: Yes, they are both fitness bands, this one looks like a watch and has an analogue face, and not a digital display. This is more stylish, so you can wear it out etc.

      • I don't think the base model even has heart rate monitoring.

    • Was good couples of years ago. Nowadays, I think it’s better grab a refurbished Apple Watch 1 or 2 for less than $100.

    • +5

I have the Steel HR, which is a model up and has a small screen and a heart rate monitor. Love that it looks like a normal watch but has fitness tracking features. Love the 2 week battery life. Love that I don't need to shake my wrist to turn the screen on to tell the time. The app is surprisingly good. If you want a watch which is also a fitness tracker it's great; if you want to use it for notifications on your wrist/actually interacting with it then there are better options.

      • I second this and I have the Steel HR. The Withings Apps (Health Mate is called) is actually very practical but aesthetically still behind Fitbit.

Combine this with the BodyCardio+ scale (which can be had much cheaper - bought it for $100 Black Friday), it gives you a very good health metrics since Withings is into Medical Wearables.

        • -1

          very good health metrics

And by that you mean wildly innaccurate guesses.

    • Activity and sleep tracking are a scam regardless of vendor.

    • Yeah have one myself.Battery lasts for about 6 months, great at steps and sleep tracking.
Love that it doesn't need to be charged all the time, and that it doesn't look like a fitness band.
Connects to the app seamlessly and also enjoy competing with mates
      (Link on the APP)

  • How is it compared to other such as fitbit?

    • App isn't as good, looks like an actual watch, focused a little more on appearance, no screen.

    • I've just returned a Fitbit Charge 3 which was good, except it quits an activity all by itself for no reason. This happens to lots of the current models and has been reported loads for years. Fitbit seem unable, or unwilling to fix it.

Hoping as Google recently bought Fitbit they may eventually bring out models that work.

Excellent price. Seems like features are pretty limited but looks great.

  • Is there a way to sync steps for different trackers into one app ?

    • The Withings app can sync with Google Fit / Apple Health, I suppose you can link other trackers there too.

I bought this and ditched my Galaxy watch. Love not being annoyed by notifications and having to charge it every two days. I understand it may not be for everyone, but this has changed my life for the better.

    Good things to note -
    1. Light as a feather
    2. Counts steps, sleep, walk instances
    3. Imo a better companion app that the Samsung Health/Galaxy wearables
    4. 8 month battery life - absolutely loving that
    5. Easy to read dial with a step target percentage. It looks very nice - already received heaps of complements while wearing it.

Only things I can fault are that the app doesn't show calories burnt at a glance - need to click through from step count. Also it doesn't detect any activities automatically apart from walking. But you can tell the app to start tracking it from there. Also not ideal, but I'm happy to compromise on that for the battery life alone.

    • Yea I'm looking at prob the Garmin hybrid with 7 days battery life, HR monitor, analogue face etc. I think this one seems good for someone who wears both a regular watch and an activity tracker. Galaxy watch is an actual smartwatch though, so not really comparable at all. Also what galaxy watch?

    • Same thoughts, it really just isn't necessary to get constant notifications. I had gotten the sapphire glass version but otherwise the same.

      • I want to get certain notifications, like when my security camera goes off, or when one of my emergency contacts call me. I have a Gear S2 and have all notifications turned off except security camera and emergency contacts. Being able to control music, get weather, calendar notifications from the watch etc is nice also to help you out and not have to reach for your phone a billion times a day

    • Not clear if it shows time as well or just counts steps

If so, Analog watch face or digital for time?

      • Analog. The hands are at Ten to 2 in the photo.

        • +1

Little hand points to the hour…

    • Whats the sleep tracking function like? Any good?

      • Duration, regularity, depth and interruptions are recorded in the app

        • and score

        • depth

          And what is that?

  • Hmm, tempted to get this just for a more stylish watch when I need it, compared to my main fitbit ionic. Unless I just buy different bands for it..

  • +1

    Bought one. Thanks OP!

  • Bought one. Thanks OP!

    Bought OP. Thanks one!

  • Was interested until I saw no HR. Good deal tho.

  • Would have bought this instantly if it had a basic vibration notification function, but i guess I'll be sticking with the Lenovo Watch 9 for now.

    • The lenovo looks nice but I can't get over that thickness.

  • Bought Thanks! OP one.

  • How does it wake you up?

  • +2

they should have put a sapphire crystal in this model. there is a really rough looking used one on ebay atm (352829790347) and shows what the watch will eventually look like (admittedly with some substantial wear).

    • If you can stretch the budget can I recommend a Kronaby. Great hybrid, sapphire, 2 year battery and looks like a nice Swiss watch.

  • I bought this from the previous deal. Nice looking watch but a little on the small side. Have a Gear S3 frontier which I haven't really worn since. The Withings is nice and light and you could probably wear 24/7. I take mine off for a shower but wear it for sleep tracking. I'm kind of over constant notifications from the Gear S3 so this is nice.

    • Can't you alter your settings for the Gear S3 to only get notifications for the things you wish to be interrupted by?

I used to buy deals like this (random watches), but I got tired of having 'yet another platform' I needed to keep track of for my activity, and having to swap to my more capable sport watch when I was running or swimming meant I wasn't keeping my data in one spot to get the best analysis.

I'm going to hold back on this Nokia but if you're someone who is more of an 'activity band' type person, and just wants to track their steps, this could be okay. Though, there are probably better devices now that include more for not much more spend.

      • +1

Yep I could. But I realised I don't really need the full functionality of the S3. Tech is becoming too invasive. Back to basics.

        • +2

          Can't argue against that!

        • -1

Getting rid of the smartphone and ozb too? Assuming you don't take your phone with you as that would be invasive right?

  • Is there a white dial version? Loving the size and slim profile.

  • No Nokia branding in photo. Old stock?

    • +1

Do they still make these? Withings got sold off from Nokia and is a private company again so could be new stock hah.

    • Yeah Withings brand

  • Nice, is it easy to install the battery? Sick of watches needing an expert to change the damn thing.

    • +1

I changed my battery twice myself. Just do it carefully as there's a rubber ring inside that makes it waterproof.
      Few dollar battery from Coles.

      • +1

Thanks for the reply, thinking of getting this now!

  • Does it show any call/message notification in any way (like vibration/display) etc?

  • which one has the HR on it?

  • So my two cents is I interchange a basic garmin vivomove 1 with a fenix 3 and like how the steps sync across both devices regardless of which I use. Eg. Vivomove (light analogue watch) at work then fenix 3 (full feature chunky sports watch) for runs, gym etc. at other times. With Garmin connect syncing to MFP. Maybe if this withings can match that functionality it'll be and fit your own use case.

  • Not sure how they can get the battery to last that long :). Anyone know best place to get leather bands? ALiexpress?

    • There's no screen and no second hand. I got my metal band off ebay for $14 - much better than the $90 Withings asks!

  • I must say i do prefer these type of hybrib watches. I have the skagen connected hybrid smart watch and it looks fantastic on my cuff strap but also does what i need with a 6 month battery life.

These hybrids are good for people that want the basics.

  • Anyone know how this fits on thin wrists?

  • Got one, thanks OP

  • Just bought it. This is really good price for this watches!

  • Does this link with my Nokia 3310 and auto load all my vinyls ?
