Hi guys,

I missed out on this deal at the Caringbah store the other week but called them just to confirm it was done and they told me that Bankstown JB was opening up and had the same special as of Friday afternoon they still had 50 in stock for this price.

Anyway I live in Bondi so set out to my local Westfeild and hit up DSE for a price match where I was rudely told they do not price match anymore so went upstairs to Havery Norman and they matched it on the spot, nice guy fastest price match ever he did not even call JB. see attached receipt.

I think JB are opening alot of new stores right now and seem to run this promo whenever they open a new one.

      Yes true, but most CBF bickering if they can get it elsewhere with no fuss. In this case, DSE loss was HN's gain.

      Having said that they could muck about with clause h as an escape: "does not include limited quantity offers", arguing this is limited to 50…

        Yeah i think it was BS too and he just did want to match it. told by the manager too and i said to him if i check on the DSE website and find what you are saying is not true i will complain and he goes fine. Anyway screw em onwards and upwards to the top floor where haverys are ;-)

    BTW i forgot to mention I also got done for a quick survey on my way out which took 4 mins on why i brought a xbox over PS3 and got $25 cash so in true OzBargin style actual buy price was $224 and I was screaming BARGAIN!!lol

    SOLD OUT IN BANKSTOWN…..I just brought the last one at 10am this morning but i rang up at 9.30 to get them to hold one….but the guy named tom said if u come in the next couple of days and pay for it in full that holds the $249 cheap price so just go in and pay u u still pay $249

    Would a Harvey Norman store in Adelaide be likely to price match that Bondi Junction HN receipt? I've been hanging out for one of these and it's frustrating to see other states getting all the best deals.

    Neg votes cause you didnt get a good deal yourself. I bought 3 cause i needed 3. One is for the brother in law. I needed a new one for Foxtel on the xbox, dont want to use my old white one, and now ill get rid of the 250GB, did have a friend say he wanted a 4GB but he backed out after i bought it

    Well i hope it helped some of you guys out, I know a few ppl have said there's no more but I had Tom from JB call me today around lunch following me up from yesterday and he said there were still plenty in stock and seemed eager to negotiate on a PS3 to around the same money to get my business after i told him i brought elsewhere so I would still give them a call.

    if they are gone and you did miss out either try and get harveys to match one of those 2 receipts or try and find out maybe from JB Hi Fi head office where the next JB is opening up, to my knowledge they have opened 3 stores in the last 3 weeks so there could be a new one next week somewhere.

    Well I certainly help some of you guys out when I posted the 360 Caringbah deal a few weeks ago by pricematching in your areas. Most of these cheap $249 deals are either brand new store opening or they are getting rid of shelf stock for the Gears 3 360's coming soon. I went to Bankstown during the afternoon and many ozbargainers who missed out did actually use your receipt and try to price match Dick Smith or EB at Centro Bankstown.

    Well as i got pissed off i pulled up my sleeves and started beating the keyboard gooogling and came across this:

    harvey norman auburn price matched the $249 price after seeing a printout of the OP's bondi junction receipt, no dramas. I can put up the scan of my own receipt if needed, but the original worked just fine. They didn't call JB or anything to check stock…

    Just to share my experience…
    So far I didn't have much luck with this deal.
    I went to Bankstown JB HiFi on Sunday. And they told "No raincheck". They didn't let me pay for the console to pick it up later.

    Today I went to Harvey Norman Auburn with HN Bondi receipt posted here. They guy named Ashan (or Ashian, not sure about spelling) said they can match JB easily but only if they have that price on the website or in any printed catalog.
    He said they can't use receipts for price match because it might be not genuine.

    Sorry Steve Balmer, not this time.

    I went to Harvey Norman Liverpool ( warwick farm) and they refused to match the price either. They checked the price at jbhifi and said, they can match that $350 for it only. The sweet looking lady was not that sweet in talking or behaving ( looked like, I am asking it for free) and so was her manager.
    They said the same thing, which SichDmith said, they dont price match on receipts, as most of them are fake. I tried arguing them, that why dont u call Bondi junction, but they did not. I think they do it, if the price on receipt was good. like $375 or so.

    Then tried at Dick Smith & JBHIFI Liverpool. Dick Smith told me, this price is well under the cost price and they cannot. JBHiFi told me, they are strictly instructed not to match the price of Bankstown, as it is an opening special.

      Gagans, just drive over to Bankstown (pretty close to Liverpool) and tell Tom to take a raincheck to lock in the price once new stock is in as the OP suggested above.

But then talked to this girl in gaming section named: DRAY ( Spelling can be wrong) and she confirmed they have few in stock. I suppose, they got more stock, after it was gone. She told me, if I can make today, there are chances, I am going to take it, but did not block my stock. I was hoping not to have a person before me there, who will purchase all for profit.

        And guess what, I managed to get there around 5.45 pm and got one.

        There are couple more left. Call them before going and you can get one too.

    Hi all. Thought I'd share my experience. Took this receipt http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/2264/jbxbox360clean.jpg to Kmart in Moonie Ponds and they wouldn't match it. Then called Kmart Northcote and they said they would do a price match but would probably need to call the store to verify. Went there after work and spoke talked to the rep. She went and got me an Xbox from out back and called the manager for the match. They didn't even bother to call JB and then told me that they would beat the other price by 10%, so I got the same bundle for $229 (got one for a mate too as it was such a good deal).

    Awesome deal and they still have some in stock so get there quick

    Went to HN Bondi, where I was told by the computer section manager that "they don't do it anymore" and that he knows that the receipt is from ozbargain, and claimed that "it is fake".

    Now, I don't know if it is fake or not, but is there a customer service number at HN that I can call and verify whether indeed that sale took place? I am particularly concerned about the manager telling me that the receipt copy was fake. I'd like to find out if he was speaking the truth.

    I went to Kmart North Rocks. But they said they can only match the deal which is printed in the catalog. They said they are not allowed to call another store to match the price.
    Then I called Kmart Parramatta to ask if they can do price match. And they told me exactly the same thing.

      Yes, I think stores are sick of matching fake receipts, or prices well below their cost price which are not advertised in the catalog or online.
