$50/$100 Referral Bonus for New Customers @ ING

450

Hi all.

Looks like this is back!

ING are running a promotion where existing account holders can refer new accounts and both will receive $50 or $100, or one will receive $50 and the other $100!

Here's the content from my recent email:

What your friends need to do

  1. Go to ing.com.au/everyday, open a new* Orange Everyday by 30 April 2020 and enter ***** in the promo box at the end of the online form - this part's really important otherwise neither of you will get your reward!
  2. Deposit $1,000+ (such as their pay) from an external account into their new Orange Everyday account within any calendar month by 30 April 2020.
  3. Open a Savings Maximiser (if they don't already have one) and make a deposit into this account by 30 April 2020.
  4. Make 5+ settled (not pending) purchases using their new Orange Everyday card within any calendar month by 30 April 2020.

Once a friend completes all of the required steps above, you'll both receive your reward. But tell them to be quick - they've only got until 30 April 2020 to complete all steps!

* From Terms & Conditions:

If you have previously opened an Orange Everyday account at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed), then you are ineligible for this offer.

Check your emails for your unique referral code.

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer)

Mod: Use referral system below only where you will need to enable yourself to receive PMs for this offer or if you need a code it will start a random PM with someone who is offering to refer you. Ask them what offer they have (e.g. $50-$100).

Referral Links

Referral: random (347)

Until 30/6/2024, referrer and referee will each receive $75/$100/$125 for opening new Orange Everyday & Saving Maximiser Accounts.

Referrer: Do not participate in the referral system if you do not have a current $75/$100/$125 referral code.

Referee: To qualify, you are required to deposit a minimum $1,000 and make at least 5 (settled) card transactions within any calendar month.

    • +1

Well, I think ING love you more :'(

    • +1

Mine is the friend gets $100 and myself will get $50

Interesting how ING picks all these different tiers for their different users

      • Is the code single use?

    • +1

i had this too, $100 each referer and referee offer.
      feel orange.

      saw a sneaky term
If your friend has opened an Orange Everyday account at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed), then both you and your friend are ineligible for this offer.

I didnt get an email. No love. Moving everything to UP…

    • I didn't get one either and I've been with them for 10 years. I wouldn't trust neobanks.

  • Where does one get the promo code?

    • existing customers targeted

      • Does that mean if I did not receive this email, my friend using my old referal code wont be getting the bonus?

        • +1

the referral code doesn't change but it may not work. What i don't understand is the $50 offer, when the refer page says $100.
          http://ing.com.au/refer

          • @shadowangel: campaigns.ing.com.au/refer says $50 reward!

            ing.com.au/refer says $1000 reward!

            • @io: I still have no code. every other time i got one. well i got the code just not an email

    • You'd need to reach out to someone who received that email I'd say for them to share their code.

Normally OzB have a referral section, but it doesn't have an ING section for some reason

      • Normally OzB have a referral section, but it doesn't have an ING section for some reason

Apparently, because ING don't allow it 😉

Ooh! Didn't realise that OzB had "Random Private Messages" in their referral system. Nice

      • It is now in the referral system (Random Private Message).

        • 👍 Nice! Are Random Private Messages new?

          • @robinCTS: Nope, it's what ING was set to last time but have expired all codes and notified users in the system.

  • Only for new users

    Mine is $100 for both

    • Same here

    Found it

Do you have a link to the Terms & Conditions that you can share? (Tried looking, but struck out ☚ī¸)

      • +1

T & C were there in the original post link. But it seems to have been removed as it was a referral link. You might have to DM someone to get the link.

        • +1

Oops! My bad. I shortened the link in case it was a referral (turns out it wasn't) but accidentally over-shortened it, resulting in a redirect to the ING home page. I've fixed it and it now leads to the generic "Your friend has recommended you" page like it did before.

👍 Thanks for making me re-check it.

was the email sent recently? looked through my mailbox, spam, nothing… :(

  • Are ING still OzB's favourite (or one of the favourite) banks? I have been looking to move banks, but it's all a bit overwhelmng.

    • +4
      • Unfortunately I'm already with HSBC, but that seems like a great deal for those who aren't already with them.

    • +1

Up have a pretty comparable product and if you want the best interest rate for savings go to Xinja. The worst possible thing you can do nowadays is trust one bank no matter how good they are.

Oh yeah and ING aren't giving me any email love. Probably because I've been utilising their free international transaction fees. Saved myself a few hundred dollars. 😂😂

  • For those who received it, does the offer email show in the 'messages' section of your account?

  • Contacted ING and this was their response:

Promotional codes are generally all sent via email.
Our current refer a friend promotion has already started and all codes have been assigned, we don't have any spares to give out at this stage.
So long as you keep your accounts up to date you may receive invitations into future promotions, these will be emailed to you when applicable.

    • Did you meet the card conditions 5x card use 1k deposit ? I didn't this month (Missed by 1 day) and didn't get send the referral email.
I do have the referal code though from past emails.

    no email no love

You should still have a code they issued you with when you opened your account which can be used, although its not $100 (it will be $50), add your 5 digit code to the end of this URL https://campaigns.ing.com.au/refer?code= and have a look. Anyone can open a new account via that URL but wont get the $50 (or $100?) unless a code is used.

      • Where can I find this code my email?

      • Just be aware, if you sign up by the campaign refer url, you'll likely only get $50 bonus.

The email instructions for $100 bonus actually says sign up via the ing.com.au/everyday url and use the promo box near the end of the sign up form.

        • +1

Just be aware, if you sign up by the campaign refer url, you'll likely only get $50 bonus.

Pretty sure that's not the case. (Would need to test with a $100 code to be absolutely sure.)

Both ways end up at the same page: www.ing.com.au/securebanking/?join=oe&customer=new, with the requirement to manually enter the code in the promo box.

Best to use the referral link as it seems it will show the reward amount related to the code, before even attempting to open an account. (Once again would need to test with a $100 code to be certain.)

          • +1

@robinCTS: Oh that's good to know

I guess if all fails can always dispute with the email

  • It still amazes me that ING mentions OzBargain in its terms and conds XD

    • +1

I think that was from a previous refer a friend program (or was edited by a Mod).

The current Terms & Conditions state:

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer, we may refuse to pay the cash reward (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

  • Yeah, my email said $100 for both as well! Surprised that they offer other amounts.

  • I'm new to this website and very confused that how do I get to the referral system and enable myself of this function?

      • If you are looking for a referral code, click the random link in the grey box right below the deal.
      • If you have a referral code, click the edit link in the grey box right below the deal. Then click the box that says Allow referees to contact me via Private Message. When someone is looking for a code, you will receive a PM
  • I just received my $100 referral invitation today, so they come staggered.

    • I also received a $100 referral recently

  • Also got my $100 referral invite email today! Up to 10 referrals.

    • Did you do 5x transactions and meet the requirements? I still don't have an invite but have had them before

      • Every month make > 5 transactions and met the requirements for the bonus interest. Not sure if that links to getting a referral code though.

        • I missed it this month. :(

  • Got my $100 referral both accounts invite email as well today.

  • Weird..took them a while, but INg finally sent me the $100 referral invite too!

  • Weird, I got 2 emails with different codes both for $100 referral each

    • Do you have two accounts ?

      • nope, just one. Opened through referral and got $100

  • Is this code referral system still in use?

  • Got my $100 email too

  • Has anyone had success using their old code? I gave it a go but am yet to hear back.

  • Once you complete the steps, you'll receive your cash reward the following calendar month.
Does anyone receive this cash reward?
