Pretty good deal for a high end laptop. It has been at this price a few times in the past.

Not sure if it stacks with shopback 9.5% cashback, but worth a try.

    NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 with 2GB GDDR5 graphics memory

Weird pick for the GPU given what the rest of the specs are.
Only 2GB graphics memory so I think that's the much slower 10w variant of the chip too.
Not sure you'd even be able to playback Netflix in 4K. (requirements list 3GB minimum)

    • I watch Netflix in 4K on my Asus ux331u which has an MX150 with no issues so I highly doubt that the MX250 would have any problems playing back 4k Netflix.

      • Yeah as I said I wasn't sure, but looking at it more closely now you're right about that last one.
Won't have any problems with Netflix as the CPU will handle it instead of the GPU.

        Netflix in Ultra HD
Intel's 7th generation Core CPU (i3, i5, or i7 models in the 7xxx or 7Yxx series) or newer, or a NVIDIA GPU that meets these requirements.

        • I just bought this. It seems to work ok driving the 4k display plus 2 2k monitors as well.

Haven't done more than browse the net though.

    • The GPU provides about double the performance compared to the integrated graphics from my testing. It's not suitable for gaming but some applications (for example Premiere Pro) can take advantage of the CUDA functionality of the graphics card, giving it a huge boost compared to the integrated graphics.

Watching Netflix in 4k shouldn't be a problem as the video decode is handled by the integrated graphics, because the dedicated graphics does not have a video decode processor.

Great deal - wish it had a better GPU

  • I'm a bit new to using shopback how does this stacking this work?

  • Can't get the code to work whatever I try. Expired?
