@Luke5566: Some Android programmers are so bad that they allow the client to tell the server that the 100% server based service has been paid for.

This is remarkably typical and a feature of the biggest names in the business.

        • would you mind PMing me about this? pretty please… :)

        • You certainly don't need Android to steal from Deezer.

          • @Calran: Aye, I'm sure there are other ways, it's just very common for Android to have these kind of exploits

    • Does Spotify have the same loophole ?

      • No. Unlike deezer, spotify has competent developers. Theres still an unclosed loophole in deezer where you can download flacs straight from the server.

    • How would one go about doing this?

    • You can get any music or videos free if you've heard of Tubemate

Deezer has been my fav over many years. Always picked the best selection for me. Even paid for it for over a year. Pity they left Oz and last time I tried them was a tad slow, so not sure what locations the stream comes from these days. But I'll give them another try now :-)

I moved from Spotify to Deezer and prefer it personally. Sometimes it doesn't have the songs that spotify does but thats not a huge issue.

For a service that’s only job is to supply music, seems like at least a decent sized issue.

I can agree but the stuff I haven't been able to find is usually from lesser know artists. Plus to me Deezer sounds clearer than spotify for some reason so I prefer that.

          • @MrChadley: MrChadley I thought you were perhaps imagining the difference in sound but I just signed up for this free trial and can totally confirm songs sound better being played through Deezer. I never even considered that songs would sound different on other streaming platforms!

@TheGoodPart: Aye! It's very subtle but it's there, quite interesting indeed.

  • Don't care if there's no Deezer Hifi.

any idea of the deal's expiry? im still using tidal until the 24th of this month, but if its not on for long ill grab it now!

  • Nrma rewards gives you 3 months free spotify. Only for 'new' subscribers

  • Thanks OP. My Amazon music runs out soon so this came at a good time. Let's see what Deezer can do, never tried it.

Deezer is really good at working out what sort of music you like and then creating a dedicated flow of music which works. Also the library is large and their hifi is 320 kps so very good quality.

  • I'm on the lookout for for a deal on Tidal (extended trial or long running discount); don't hesitate to post if one comes up. Tidal is the only other service with Flac quality (qobuz isn't available in AU).

    • I understand that it is easy enough to acquire a Qobuz account with the one time use of a VPN during account setup. While I have not yet tried it myself, there are people discussing it on the Stereonet forums.

    Thanks OP!
