Tempted but a bit put off by the 'average' screen quality :/

    https://www.techradar.com/au/reviews/asus-zenbook-14-ux433f

    • "Port selection is dated" huh? Has 2xA 1xC hdmi and a microsd card? What's missing!?

On the screen issue, the numbers look pretty solid. Personally I'm very happy with a "good" screen to trade off for better performance. At home I use a desktop, or would connect it to a 24/27" Monitor.

      • Hmm is that link relevant? :/

  • It would be awesome if it had USB charging.

    • Yeah ASUS seems to have moved away from usb charging. HUGE let down. Writes this one off for me.

  • USB 2.0: 1

Not USB C or even USB3? Seems odd choice in a recent laptop

      1 x Type-C USB 3.1 (Gen 2)
      1 x Type-A USB 3.1 (Gen 2)
      1 x Type-A USB2.0

      • 1 USB C 3.1 (gen 2) and 1 USB A 3.1 (gen 2). I'd say decent.

Usb c is just the connection type, so either usb2 or 3 can go over C. Laptops WILL often/genrally do usb 3 over a c connector. Phones all over the place.

In this case, the above description is just junk lol

It seems to have a few usb A ports, as well as a usb c.

Thanks Merlict and Incipient. That makes more sense.

How do zenbook compare against dell xps?

        • To me the XPS is the gold standard for ultrabooks, really deluxe feeling + great battery and screen.

Downside is price (especially higher specs) and they ditched USB A.

          • @Merlict: In my experience more likely to have loud fan + heat issues than a Zenbook. Going back almost a decade now.

The design is nice. The feel is nice, especially when new. But under heavy load and over long term they tend to be a bit of a dog.

  • Great spec for an awesome brand! Sooooo cheap with the redemption!!!

  • I got i5 version of these for a client on the $1279 deal - found the design & asthetic excellent for the price - nearly got one for myself - as mentioned by @incipient no USBC charge was the deal breaker

  • Really tempted. But I have, let me count, 4 laptops now…

  • Was gonna buy until i got this at checkout

    Surcharge (1.00%)$14.99

  • +1

Thanks OP. Purchased one. They are charging surcharge of 14.99 for all payment method except Bank Transfer. FREE Insured Delivery worth 35.00

  • Is there a comparison spreadsheet for the UX43… series to see the differences ? I get this search result from ASUS website but apart from reading each models features, surely there is a easier way to see what the model numbers represent more easily ?

  • I am very tempted to buy this and keen to hear owners perspective.. Is price good for these specs?

I am worried about not having fingerprint reader and thunderbolt 3 port.. Are those deal breakers?

Is it ddr4 ram? And did it have face unlock?

Any other drawback of this laptop? Never owned asus before..

    Thank you.
