I wouldn't take any HK/China postage time-frame as gospel ;) It'll get here when it gets here!

What's the difference with RM 3 Mini?

    • +1

      Agreed!

    • +1

      One.

Bit smaller, and RM4C Mini supports "Fastcon"

      NEW FEATURES: Zero Configuration, powered by FastCon technology, add the first FastCon device to the App as usual, after that, when you power on other new FastCon devices, they will be automatically discovered and shown in App;

Mainly that it doesn't work with home assistant, and cant' be controlled without their crappy app, unlike the rm mini 3 which would still work without an internet connection.

  • Is this better than the Mirabella Genio that sells at Kmart for $29?

  • Is the same as this ?

    Is doesn't look the same

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Broadlink-Universal-Remote-Control…

    • Ok so it would appear there's a RM4C mini, and a RM4 Mini

See here (scroll down through item description to see the table

RM4 mini supports the sensor cable, RM4C doesn't

NEW FEATURES:Supports external Temperature and Humidity Sensor USB Cable (purchase separately), connect it to the RM4 mini, BroadLink App will show room’s temperature and humidity.

      (A US$10 cable)

  • I've got this device, and I've only had limited success getting it to work with Google home. Only some remotes will respond to voice commands.

Additionally, within the native app it only recognised my a/c from the preconfigured list, it Wouldn't recognise my tcl TV or Yamaha receiver…. I had to set these up manually.

My xiaomi smart ir had no issues.

    • Create scenes in the Broadlink app then create Google Home Routine to trigger the Broadlink scene.

That way you can use any command to trigger any action or combination of actions.

Sadly broadlink scenes can only be accessed by Google Home and not IFTTT, meaning you always have to use voice command instead of adding the broadlink scene as part of other automation.

      • Thanks for your suggestion, yes, I've been using it with scenes, and whilst working perfectly in the Broadlink app, only 2 of the four will display in Google Home.

NOTE: These DO NOT work with Home Assistant or any other local control just yet (py-broadlink, etc). Buy at your own risk if you intend on using them with HA or buy the RM3 minis instead.

    • Interesting. Several images in the ad show “works with google assistant”…

      • He is talking about the community driven home automation, just in case you didn't know….

      • Home Assistant is a full, local, open-source automation platform. Has nothing to do with Google Assistant aside from the fact that it can integrate Google Assistant as one of the many services.

    • Apparently they updated the rm mini 3 so that its the same as the mini 4 now…no local control, so set it up using Broadlink Manager instead.

      • Do you mean a new model of the rm mini 3? Or a firmware update?

I'm finding the YTF IR bridge a great alternative to RM3 mini's.
