USB-C, by the look of the pic? Excellent…………

  • Slap one of those babies on a pixel and you've got a great phone.

How many cells would this likely have inside?

    • +1

Depends, you dont get 18650s higher than 3500mah in capacity.

These are most likely two 3000mah batteries in parallel. This would give you a capacity of 6000mah with a nominal voltage of 3.6V which is quite low.

Depending on the internal voltage regulator, it might need a higher input voltage, then it would have 4 cells. A 2S2P configuration. Which would give a 6000mah capacity at a 7.2V output.

Do you think it looks too small to have 4x 18650's inside?

EDIT: From an earlier deal, someone is saying 3x cells in parallel.

        • +2

Fair enough, in that case its a 1s3P using three 2000mah cells.

      • I don't know about that…
Ali express have some great 9999mAh cells available /s

        • Haha, I love those listings. They are obviously lying, but you would have thought their capacity was at least semi decent. Of the two tests I have seen of those cells, both came out at roughly 500mah. I honestly thought they would have at least been 2000-3000.

If you need to ask you’re not ready.

  • Have ALDI done these type before? Any reviews on how quick it is to charge a phone?

Last year they sold a similar looking one.

  • They're not as cheap (but still cheap), but the Kogan ones support various PD modes, just seems silly to spend even $10 on something that is so far behind on features.

    • PD mode?

        PD = Power Delivery

        https://www.usb.org/usb-charger-pd
The USB Power Delivery Specification enables the maximum functionality of USB by providing more flexible power delivery along with data over a single cable. Its aim is to operate with and build on the existing USB ecosystem. USB Power Delivery offers the following features: Increased power levels from existing USB standards up to 100W.

I grabbed a blue one this morning. Seems okay. Shows as 3/4 full out of the box.
