Not sure if this follows the deal guidelines of at least 10 available ?

Calling it a gaming laptop with only 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD is a bit of a stretch.
Just about any time i run any vaguely modern game i end up using around 12GB of RAM.
Games with >100GB install size are not uncommon now, leaves little room for more than a few games.
CPU and GPU look up to the task though.

This is a rock bottom budget slim gaming laptop, 8gb and 256gb are fine for most users that are only planning to have 1-5 large games installed. 16gb RAM is only necessary for if your're planning to use multiple monitors, and multitask chrome, editors etc on another screen.

I have the previous gen of this laptop with the 1060 GTX, its great as a desktop replacement, I replaced the 128gb ssd with a 1tb NVME drive and it came with a 1tb disk drive in the 2nd bay. Still haven't needed to upgrade to 16gb of ram since I'm only using 1 monitor.

It actually comes shipped with 512gb ssd despite what it says as many have confirmed in last deal.

        • is the 8GB Ram 4x2 or 8x1

    • RAM is cheap and easy to upgrade and it actually has 512GB storage. Even with the cost of extra RAM this is a steal and more than capable at gaming, even games like cities Skylines have no trouble at all on this.

    • Hey if it can csgo at Max settings I'm sold. Which this can

  • Out of stoc$

    • Bugger. How do i remove post?

      • I hope they'll restock tnem soon - already promised one to my kid.

        • Looks like you're buying full price then GG

There's a forum for the G3 that might be useful for those who are interested: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/516502

New Ryzen 4000 series systems are around the corner (release date 16th March in Europe & Asia), and apparently they offer amazing performance - I'd be hesitant to push the button now…

While those will be the undisputed king for APU laptops, you can bet they won't come this cheap, and still won't beat a 1650 in games.

      • It appears that there will be Ryzen 4000 series laptops that feature GTX GPUs given recent leaks of upcoming Asus laptops for example. That should give the best of both worlds and may yet be cheaper than Intel based laptops.

Actually, regardless of the GPU, the CPU is something to really consider. Given the looming release of 6 to 12 core (12 to 24 threads) 4000 series mobile CPUs by AMD, people should at least consider the lifespan of a 4-core "gaming" CPU.

  • I’m after 32gb RAM upgrade for this laptop, anyone found any deals? i’ll post the deal too if I can find one

  • Half bummed I missed this. Want and a need but an impulse too.
