'Worst 5700 XT Period, DON'T BUY!'

    Yikes.

    • No, it's not Asus's fault. it's AMD….joking….bloody Asus couldn't admit to their mistake.

      • When your product is 10* worse than the reference design you dun goofed.

Avoid these cards like the plague.

These are like COVID-19 of GPU.

      • Or should I say… NOVID-19?

  • lol … does it come with the screws to fix the heatsink sagging off?

    • Professionals use a piece of string and hang it from the top of the case :P

    • The new mounting screws you are referring to are for the ROG Strix line of RX 5700-Series cards. You can read more here

      • haha my bad got them mixed up … thought these had the same issue

here's the "fix" and this models been dropped anyway so yeh

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rre77rE3Ag

      • Did they do any update for the TUF like they did with the Strix? Though they'd need a whole new cooling solution rather than just screws to fix it, so basically a new product.

        • no as of that hardware ounboxed video when he try's to fix the issue the model was dropped by Asus and according to the below post the retailers were lumped with them .. (i.e. not a recall or rebate to sell them off).

          • @scud70: I know they were dumped, but did they release a replacement model later - like "TUF X3v2" or something. Though I suppose given the Strix issues, Asus might have just written off 5700 series as a total loss

            • @smashman42: only seen 5700XT strix models no other TUF ones .. actually not sure if they even have 5600XT models…

              • @scud70: According to Hardware Unboxed, ASUS does have a model which supposedly fixes the issues, called TUF Gaming EVO. However I haven't heard or seen it listed at any retailers yet.

GDDR6 memory chips are not making proper contact (or even any contact) with the heatsink.

  • Hi Rep, has ASUS been a jerk here and not willing to take these stocks back? Were they able to provide you some compensation so you guys can reduce the price to flog them off?

    • damn thats harsh.. this product should have been recalled not left for the stores to try and sell .. if it got down to a price low enough my tinkering gene would kick and def get it and try and see if i could fix it lol

Avoid all 5700XT's for the time being. Possibly in 6 months or so if AMD can get their drivers in order they could be worth it.

I get nothing but black screens, problems with monitors not detecting and random restarts, tempted to just throw my 970 back in.

I wish I had paid the extra $50 I paid for my 5700XT and got myself a 2070.

I forced PCCG to give me a refund for my 5700XT, paid the extra and got the 2070 super.

      Best decision i made

    • Have you tried using DDU to clean all previous installs of drivers before installing the latest .2.2.2 drivers? (Some discussions here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ptDRxBxwUfU)

    • I've got a Sapphire 5700XT Pulse since day dot and it's been working perfectly fine, I've had a RTX 2080 previously but downgraded due to lack of use.

      • MSI Gaming X also works fine for me.

You can fix all your problems by switching to PCIE 3.0 in bios (not auto not 4.0) or PCIE 4.0 works on mine with PCIE bifurcation set to 8x8 or 8x4x4 ect.

      • That's an interesting one, ill give it a go.
I'll also try the complete driver rescrub if that doesn't work.
Mine is the Gigabyte Gaming OC im running with a gigabyte x570 board and a ryzen 3600.

Thanks guys, I'll try to post back with results.

        • Yep exact same setup as mine also had issues with 3200 ram speeds but seems to be fixed with latest bios.

  • Space grade lubricant, aircraft grade aluminium and military grade PCBs were all used here, honest.

    "Built for durability and performance".

Not sure about that statement there…

  • I’ve been looking into a card for a while now and my research made we want to go to a 2070 super instead of a 5700XT. Now it’s a question of which 2070 Super - maybe I’ll use the $750 gubment stimulus payment if I get it.

  • Hey O.P. Any deals on 2070Super?

    • Hi There,

Current Deal - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming 8G OC Graphics Card for $859 (RRP:$939) Ends 18 March. See here

Lowest Priced 2070 Super - Galax GeForce RTX 2070 Super Click 8G OC Graphics Card for $749 See here

See all our 2070 Supers here

      • Not really deals.
eBay got the MSI 2070 super ventus for 750 or thereabouts last I checked earlier today

  • Maybe I'd pay like $100 for this. But for like $50 more then this card plenty of better models available.

    • shoppingexpress has the MSI mech version for $559 - dunno how good it is though

      • +1

That is by far the second worst 5700xt card out there.
I've been on the market for a new card, and have read quite a few reviews, that card got some harsh reviews.

        • well that explains that price hahaha

  • -2

I've got one of these. the reports about high VRAM temperatures is very much overblown. Sure it runs hot, but no hotter than reference and good luck even getting a reference model for this price.

    "Built for durability"

Anyone else not able to read that with a straight face?

  • +1

Anyone having issues with there 5700 xt and have a pcie 4.0 board either change your pcie setting to 3.0 or try setting your pcie to 4.0 with forced bifurcation
    GL

  • Is the non XT version recommended?

    • not the TUF.

  • yeah the card is the worst of all 5700XT however if you have this card a simple undervolt and underclock will control the temps and only drop performance by 5-10% I feel that this model should only be considered for $499

  • this is now in stock $585

if you buy this card a undervolt 1,000mv , 1900mhz would keep temps under control and be faster then a standard 5700. might be worth it to some.
