  • Rep 2 questions please:
    1. With the tablet, will there be further "official" android upgrades from the current 2.1?
    2. How good is the "3D" on the 3D camcorder on sale?
    Thanks

    • Sure,

      1. At the moment there is none, but I believe alot of people out there have been upgrading it themselves.
      2. The 3D is pretty good, IMO. It takes good quality photos and videos and alot of our customers have been happy with them.
      • At the moment there is none, but I believe alot of people out there have been upgrading it themselves.

Got any URLs handy? My google-fu is failing me today and at 2.1 it's… a mite limited. :/

  • That is all stuff from Hk and China distributors.
    What was the original price?
    Do you do drop shipping?

    • Sorry,

      Original Prices were:

      Waterproof camera $129,
      3D HD Pocket camcorder $199,
      Android Phone $249,
      Android Tablet $199

      Postage $15

We can drop ship to you if you like, Like all the other prducts we get them manufactured and deal directly with the factories. No china distributors.

      • Thanks for feedback, at least you aren't one of many who post and disappear.

I'm a bit scared by you T&C as per the following:

"2. Nothing in the warranty, limits any rights you may have under the trade practices act or any other Commonwealth or State Legislation. Such rights cannot be changed by the conditions in this warranty."

        I'm a bit confused here!

        • +1

Its saying if there is any inconsistencies in the T&C's with consumer protections laws, then those laws will prevail. You can't contract out of consumer protection laws. Its a bit out dated, TPA doesn't apply now.

        • Not a lawyer lol (hence this isn't legal advice), but I thin it basically means while the warranty may be crap, they aren't circumventing laws about having to provide reasonable service, the object is reasonably accurately described etc.

        • Yet I knew that they may not circumvent local Laws but I've a bad experience with returns from similar importers, basically they will just say that the item isn't faulty so you waste your money on postage plus assessment fees.

I was looking at the 3D Camcorder (what the meaning of 3D who knows) and regarding the warranty they say "come with a standard 12 months manufacturer's warranty."
Well we don't know who the manufacturer is as well as Millenius' T&C isn't clear too.

        • We are the Manufacturer, if anything is a defect on arrival or within 12 months. we will have that fixed or replaced.

3D means it takes 3D shots, videos.

        • What's your address?

        • We operate Online only

        • Really?? So if the camcorder results faulty, where do I send it? Online??

        • Really?? So if the camcorder results faulty, where do I send it? Online??

Hehe. That's one bit of info I sort-of was able to find :)

          Melbourne, somewhere.

          http://millennius.com.au/p-about-us

        • haha you're funny mate, but the OP is more LOL

        • A bit more hunting. (why does someone need to hunt for this?)

          http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/millennius/preston

Matches postcode used with ABN. So they have a bricks and mortar shop. Why be mysterious about it?

        • To your comment below… Guys we are not trying to hide anything, we use to have a shop in Preston which was a few years ago now, which we tested and went well, but we liked the online business model as it reaches the whole of Australia and being a bricks and mortar store, prices had to go up , etc etc.. I dont think I have to explain theres been enough talk about it.

          the discombobul…

A bit more hunting. (why does someone need to hunt for this?)

      • You could've saved yourself a lot of bother had you replied to:

        "What's your address?"

        with

"You can return it to Prestons, Melbourne. We'll provide the full address with the RMA." "We operate Online only" was a bad answer.

You could've also saved yourself more bother by having a clear returns policy on your website. The warranty doc (an actual .doc file - wtf?) does not feature the word day or week in it.

The more of such information you provide the easier it is to buy from you. A privacy policy, shipping policy, returns policy, t&c and warranty information should all be clearly available and easy to read. A FAQ would also be a good idea if you have need of one.

The point is that you /are/ an online shop and so, without the (easy) possibility of a face to face meeting between yourself and your customers you should be working via other means to endear as much trust as possible. It's not hard. It just takes a bit of forethought.

        • Thank you, we do appreciate the feedback.

We have updated the website a fair bit and we had lost some information, along with product descriptions.

So we are in the middle of updating and filling in missing areas on the website.

  • noticed you havent yet updated your terms and conditions as per:

    • Will be happening today. :)

also geeze when will you guys learn

    waterproof camera
    Millennius Waterproof HD Digital Camera
    - 16.0 MegaPixel

    Resolution 1M / 3M / 5M / 8M / 16M ( Interpolation )

IE your being deceptive on claiming higher resolution… i can use photoshop and make my shots 100MP… doesnt mean there any better than a 2MP camera shots they came from! just means they use more room.

    then way below…
    Sensor 1/3.2” CMOS 5.0 Mega-Pixel Sensor
I like how you guys work with the community, but stuff like that is dodgy…
should be advertised as a 5MP camera with interpoulation to 16MP… even at 5MP its a decent price as its water proof…

also you dont specifiy how deep you can go with it…
link from when the camera was 98 bux.

How about removing "mega wipeout wednesday" and putting in "Camera/Camcorder/Android - $69 to $109 free post"

        • well put, or even this fits the character limit exactly:

          16GB 3G Android Phone $99, 7" Tablet $97, 3D HD Camcorder $109, Waterproof DigiCam $69 +FREE P/H

        • yes, but that doesnt let him advertise "Mega Wipeout Wednesday " which it seems he mostly wants to do!

        • Reminds me of Zaavi Mega Mondays ;)

  • has anyone used this waterproof camera at all? Is it decent given the specs?

  • How long does the battery last on the tablet?

    • +1

6-9 hrs depending on how you use it.

      • "6-9 hrs depending on how you use it." I guess that means leaving the tablet on with minimum brightness and doing absolutely nothing on it. You have to use it that way to get that 6-9 hours.

By my reckoning, with its specs and battery, you'll be lucky to get 3 hours usage. This is based on reviews done by people with tablets with identical specs.

        • I mean by if you use it just for music and abit of browsing, you will get about 6 hrs, straight video usage depending on what resolution, can get from 3 to 6 hrs,

Browsing, apps, and other things you may do on the tab can reach upto around those hours.

        • This is based on reviews done by people with tablets with identical specs.

          got some links?

        • This is one link
          http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/android-tablet-news/485-…

It is using the 720mhz telechips processor which is sometimes overclocked to 800mhz.

          http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/telechips-tcc8902-tablet…

        • Just google "telechips review"

          http://apad-scene.blogspot.com/2010/09/apad-telechip-tcc8902…
          Read the bottom. "1-2 hours"

Its been a while since I've looked at generic chinese tablets but it seems to be worse that i remembered. 1-2 hours with wifi, 3 hours without wifi..

        • Your comparing to other devices, regardless of same specs, they might have a poor battery inside, or some specs might not be correct, Who knows.

Im telling you, that is what to expect from OUR device and other customers are experiencing this life span.

        • All I am saying is that they are basically identical devices. Battery with same capacity, same processor, same ram, same android version. Chances are same performance. Unless your device has some kind of special mojo which ups its battery life, I would say do not expect that much. After all, buyer beware. YOUR customers are experiencing that type of battery life? Please do provide some references.

Otherwise I can just say that customers that are buying OUR longevity pills are experiencing extended life spans.

Bottom line. BUYER BEWARE. I've provided evidence that such tablets suffer from horrid battery life. If you still want to purchase them on the oh-so-credible "that is what to expect from OUR device and other customers are experiencing this life span". You have better double check on the return policy and be prepared to get your money back.

        • You have better double check on the return policy and be prepared to get your money back.

Again, my ability to search may be failing but… where on the website is the returns policy?

        • +1

I'm not going to search for the return policy for you. DIY. But, if you can't find it on the website, its a good indication that they do not have a clear cut return policy (possibly none. Are you prepared to risk your money for a product which is promised to be good (by the seller) whereas countless reviews have said otherwise?

        • I'm not going to search for the return policy for you.

Sorry for the lack of clarity. Wasn't you I was asking. Was the rep. Would think there was an official policy already available on the website but the lack of response seems not. Think I'll keep my money.

      • AT lamerthanlam, Countless reviews have said so?? Those links are not our products.

We do have a return policy, you have within 7 days to make a claim and return it.

        • All I'm saying that in my own personal opinion, your product is just simply a re-branded generic (i.e. same specs different branding). Your product isn't the same as the other products but it is identical in terms of specifications. Just because I slapped a Ferrari sticker on my Honda car doesn't mean I can say I own a Ferrari.

Whether or not people choose to purchase your product is entirely up to them. I just want to give them a wider perspective on what to expect from such a product. If you have mentioned 3-4 hours, that would have been plausible even though stretching it a wee bit. However 6-9 hours is simply just overestimating hence I just had to bring about other people's account of using such devices.

        • I think thats a bit unfair they have said they are the manufacturer…and that they could use different batteries.

        • Possibly true. But we will never know unless we buy it. What happens if it wasn't the case? Hence when making this purchase, are you going to make it in the hope that they use different batteries?

My purchase habits is that I only purchase things when I am absolutely certain about the product. There is a high degree of uncertainty associated with this product. Hence, I would not purchase it.

        • Where are your customers reviews?
7 days return policy? Where is this on your web site??

Stop telling crap: you're a gray importer here in Australia; your T&C isn't clear; you aren't able to provide a physical address; your web site doesn't even have an owner.
          Can I call you scammer?

        • At dealhunt,

We have had tech forum review some of our products, we have just a few customers write up some reviews, but no video reviews, This is where we will be targeting next for the site , to get customers to do video reviews.

7 day policy should be on their in the t&c, if not we will have to make this clear on the website,
We dont have a physical address for customers to visit. We only operate online, and so do 1000 other online businesses. The whole point of being online, and we communicate online.

The owner of the website is Millennius Pty Ltd, which is Pierre Boutros the director/founder.

If a product is faulty, the product is sent back to Our PO BOX in preston, those details are provided when making warranty claims.

        • You can guess that I won't ever buy anything from you, but just to alert other OZ bargainers.

So you're a business legally operating in Australia but yet you keep you address secret? Why?
Because you want me to buy first then you say me that the object was tested by your "TEAM" (LOL) which found the product not faulty then you charge me assessment plus delivering fees.

Also you seem talking for someone else, you said that "7 day policy should be on their t&c, if not we……" so you even don't know your T&C.

        • +2

          dealhunt,

it is not a secret, its because there is NO address for customers.

Like scoopon, catchof the day, kogan, and many many other sites do not provide addresses, Hence it is an ONLINE business. no bricks and mortar store, this results in lower prices.

        • "it is not a secret, its because there is NO address for customers"
So again, since you previously diverted my question: if a product is faulty, where do I send it? To HK or China??

        • I did not ignore your question,

I replied to one of your comments in the thread.

If a faulty item occurs, it is sent to our PO BOX, this information is provided when you are a customer and apply for a warranty claim through email or phone call.

        • It's like talking to an automated service LOL

You use BIG words but you cannot provide a business address here in Australia because you're based in HK as well as you pretend to foolish people with "Australian owned and Australian based" logo on your web site.

I see this as a scam.

  • Approx how long would it take to get a phone delivered to Melbourne if I bought today?

    • We use Australia Express Post. So we need to send it out before 4:30pm today and you should receive next day.

  • Can this tablet run 720/1080p movies?

    • Yes it can, Video Capability : N7 supports 1080P videos in the format of AVI, MKV((XVID/H.264), MOV, TS, M2TS, RM/RMVB, FLV, WMV, 3GP, MPEG, DAT, MP4.

      • +1 from me for the tablet - price vs specs is pretty good and not having to deal with overseas warranties ourselves directly makes it worth it!

        • Yup. Just waiting on my OS question. It's the biggest holdback to me twitching and just buying it. :)

  • nvm

  • -1

I think the phone is a good deal. I was looking on ebay and couldn't find anything with as good/better specs for the price.

The only phone I found that I could compare was the Samsung Behold II. I believe that phone has a better screen though, same resolution but AMOLED glass screen but it's also $45 more and has the apparently very bad Touchwiz UI (which can be removed with some messing about to run stock android)

  • Hey Millennius… what is the story with the newer model Apanda A100 phone?

I saw some stuff after Googling, but nothing on your website. I'm interested in a more "upspec" phone than the A60.

    • Yes we were going to produce this phone, but with the parts that we were going to use and labour from (foxconn) was going to be too expensive.. around $490 we did not think it would work here at that price.
