      SoA is pretty good (aside from season 3), but I wouldn't put it in the same league as Breaking Bad, which is right up there with The Wire and The Shield as one of the greatest TV dramas of all time.

          Get past the first episode, and by the 3rd, you'll be hooked.

          The Wire's a slow burner, but the most rewarding show BY FAR you'll ever see. The other HBO shows (Sopranos, Deadwood, Game of Thrones) + Mad Men, Breaking Bad etc pale in comparison, despite being fantastic themselves.

          I'd say it's more about the 5th or 6th episode, but the point still stands. Each season of The Wire is structured more like a novel than a regular TV show. In the first chapter, it might feel like not much is happening, but it's setting up all the pieces, and in The Wire, "all the pieces matter" ;). There's really nothing else like it out there.

          Anyone who isnt hooked on Game of Thrones by the first scene in first episode and the introduction animation doesnt deserve television.

          Best thing to come to television since colour.

          Game of Thrones +1 - but you need to get to the end of the second episode. End of the first got me hooked, but by the end of the second you realise its the best show you've seen in a long time. HBO series rule!

    This show started off great but has sunken into great despair. Interesting concepts that have turned really dark and depressing. Favorite recurring character is Saul.
