    It's a new type of controller.

    I have no experience with any NVMe enclosures but my experience with SATA 3 enclosures has been all over the place. Out of five I own only one works with all SSDs I tried … and it was the cheapest one.

    So I'm saying portable SSD rather than enclosure works much better at least for SATA 3 IME.

  I bought a different brand from aliexpress for $26. Installed a 256 NVME. Now I got 990MB/second consistent writing speed, when using USB-c.
