12 Months Hilton Honours Status Extension

800

Hilton Honors Members,

On behalf of the entire Hilton team, we hope this message finds you in good health. As the world adapts to these unusual circumstances, I wanted to share what we are doing to extend your Hilton Honors benefits and to support our communities during this turbulent time.

Your Hilton Honors Status and Points
We consider it our privilege to have you as a Hilton Honors member and we want to show our appreciation by extending your benefits:
2019 Status Extension. All members whose 2019 status was scheduled to be downgraded on March 31, 2020—whether it’s Diamond, Gold or Silver—will automatically receive an extension through March 31, 2021.

2020 Status Extension. We are extending your 2020 member status through March 31, 2022. This means you will continue to enjoy all the Diamond, Gold or Silver benefits you have access to today for the next 24 months.

Points Extension. We will pause the expiration of all Points scheduled to expire between now and December 31, 2020.
Weekend Night Rewards Earned on Eligible Hilton Credit Cards. We have extended the expiration date of all unexpired Weekend Night Rewards as of March 11, 2020, and all new ones issued until August 30, 2020, through the end of next summer (August 31, 2021).

Your Travel Flexibility
We remain committed to offering you flexible booking options. Given these unique circumstances, we are making further adjustments to our individual booking policies:
Existing Reservations. All reservations—even those described as “non-cancellable” (“Advanced Purchase”)—that are scheduled for arrival on or before June 30, 2020 can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival day.
New Reservations. Any reservations you make—even those described as “non-cancellable” (“Advanced Purchase”)—that are booked between today and June 30, 2020 for any future arrival date can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival day.

They've made several announcements in relation to this. Numerous weeks ago actually. The link below has been updated as of yesterday.

Existing Reservations. All reservations—even those described as “non-cancellable” (“Advanced Purchase”)—that are scheduled for arrival on or before June 30, 2020 can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival day.

          Hope this helps.

        • I was able to cancel a prepaid reservation. I just called them up and they've cancelled it.

          • @nightelves: Thanks. I'm happy with a store credit as I will go there.. Just a matter of when.

            I've emailed.. so no rush

            • @daft009: TPE in late May…. Computex? If so, it's been rescheduled for late September just yesterday.

              • @FatBoyNotSoSlim: No Computex.
it was part of a bigger work trip I had booked. SIN, HKG & TPE.. all for customer meetings.
                8 days

                • @daft009: Ahh nice. Taiwan is an amazing place, when you can go, you'll love it. I had also planned to go to HK and SK at the same time, after Computex. Will have to delay for later on.

Outstanding, I was about to lose my Diamond status next week :)

    • Same here! Thanks Hilton :)

  • Amazing, my Diamond was going down to Silver in a week!

    • Wouldn't it just go to Gold?

      • Nope, received an email a few weeks back that I was going to Silver. I also had the same thing happen a few years ago when I went I didn't retain Diamond.

Out of all the 'feel good' emails companies have been sending out, I've been super impressed with Hilton's response. They have pretty much lead the charge on how to customer service during these uncertain times. Well played.

  • Thank you for sharing saves me time requesting status and certificate extnsn via email. We'll done hilton!

  • Very nice move and good on Hilton for helping first responders with accommodation.

Not the time to be picky, but alas their breakfast options for Diamond members have recently been downgraded across the brand (e.g. Hilton Sydney no longer includes full buffet in the restaurant. and instead continental in the lounge). But overall Hilton Honors still remains more generous than other brands in terms of looking after their loyal members.

    • Breakfast same with Hilton Auckland. As at few weeks ago, NZD10 upgrade for hot options and NZD4.50 for barista coffee vs the thermos pot of warm stuff. And since they have no lounge you can't get basic hot options at breakfast i.e most Hilton hotels with lounges at least have some basic hot options such as scrambled eggs / bacon / veg

  • Anybody here who was on the Macquarie Hilton Credit Card (before it changed over)?

As a courtesy they extended our memberships to 2021, as it's not outlined above, anyone know whether our status extends to 2022 by default?

    Thanks

      Yeah should be the same.

  • No idea, hope so.

By the way, check with Hilton if you received a free night certificate because we got 2 free nights which we had no idea we received (after the card changed over).

    • Yep, can confirm that they did provide a free night certificate as one of the last benefits (if you were at or close to the spending threshold).

  • Where do I find my expiry date?

    • You have to call them to enquire. They used to have it on their website but has since been removed.

  • i need unlimited. not 1 year.
