Looks like deal has expired

For those who are now “working from home”, this may be a suitable deal for you.

HP have two “work from home” bundles of monitors that are in stock currently at a pretty decent price imo.

out of stock Essential Work From Home Bundle 1 $495.51
1 x HP E243D 24” Monitor FHD with built in docking station, built in webcam and USB-C
1 x HP E243 24” monitor FHD (daisy chain to master screen via USB-C)
1 X HP slim wireless keyboard and mouse
1 x 90w Smart AC Power Supply

Out of stock Essential Work From Home Bundle 2 $783.52
1 x HP E344C 34” curved WQHD monitor
1 x HP Thunderbolt Dock 120w G2
1 X HP slim wireless keyboard and mouse
1 x 90w Smart AC Power Supply

Well priced, in stock and good setups for working from home.

Yes these probably suck for gaming, FHD isn’t a preferred resolution, refresh isn’t great and the 34”panel is budget SVA….but if you need to work from home, these are pretty sharply priced.

The web page sucks, and you can’t link to these bundles directly. Scroll through and you’ll find them. Chat bot chick said both are in stock with 2-4 day delivery in Sydney.

USB-C was the decider in these for a single connection from work laptop to screen. We have the 2 screen solution at work, and it’s a great office setup. My understanding is that this is inline with corporate pricing for these.

Hope this helps some people out.

Cant get the individual pages to load for some reason?

    • Correct, they don’t. Weird ass shit going on with them.

  • I can only see a single monitor in this bundle

  • The HP EliteDisplay E243D with integrated laptop dock and webcam is very expensive just by itself — it's a $500 monitor according to static ice. It's also not in stock on the HP website.

I strongly doubt this bundle gives you two monitors— you'll most likely get the basic variant (HP E243) that doesn't have many bells and whistles. Or it's likely you will get the E243D but not two monitors… Probably contact HP before you buy to avoid dissapointment.

    • The retail price is expensive. HP can set pricing at whatever they want. Invoice is quite clear on what will be received.

      • +1

No arguing with the invoice! Whilst not the best monitors in town, for the average office worker, this is a good deal.

        • +1

Agreed. I fill the “average office worker” bill these days and these will do the job well. Not to mention both are tax deductible and 2.5% cash back from CR/SB

  • You can daisy chain displays via USB 3.1 over USB C? (I know/am quite sure TB3 can do it as it supports DP MST). Or is this some strange HP specific connection?

HP EliteDisplay E243d 23.8-inch docking monitor
"This is the first HP display that’s ready-made for daisy-chaining. It’s equipped with a DisplayPort In port, and it also features a USB-C port with Alt Mode. Alt Mode is a USB-C feature that’s able to send data in other video port formats, so you can use it here in place of the traditional DisplayPort In [1]."

  • Just to clarify is the AC adaptor intended to plug into the dock, and then through USB C charge your laptop as well?

    • I’m hoping so. I’ll find out when I get it.

      • +1

I think it's a really good deal and if I had space/needed the monitor I'd go for it. 24" isn't huge, but two of them is sufficient and I love how tidy it looks from watching the promo video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyToZ3Yvbag

Unfortunately I have a 49" monitor already, and my wife's company let them take home a 27" monitor so feels like we don't really need it otherwise I would've jumped on this!

  • Couldn't order it on my phone, but did it on my desktop. Seems to be a great deal

  • Pulled the trigger!

Estimated Delivery Date 21/04/2020-04/05/2020 - OUCH!

    • Ouch! Hope it comes in sooner man.

      • So I just called them and the only item that is not in stock is the wireless keyboard and mouse, which is handy as I have some alternatives. Both monitors and the ac cord are in stock and can be shipped out ASAP. So good result.

        • +2

That’s awesome mate. Great score. I got one of each, 34” for me, 24” for the wife while we wfh.

  • Sorry but I am not that tech savvy - if I buy bundle 1, would it work with Surface Pro?

  • -1

    Back to full price now

    • +1

Still showing $495 for me. 34” must be sold out, not listed any more.

  • I'm going to assume pricing/listing error.
Only showing the one monitor now in the basket.

    • +1

It should show Bundle 1 (which itself has a monitor in it) + extra monitor + other things. Deal is still going.

  • Stupid question - assuming these can be easily mounted onto a monitor arm?

    • Should be a standard VESA Mount, so imagine it should be straight forward.

  • can't seem to find either bundle

    • Looks like both are gone now. Will update deal.

  • +4

Found a 10% code that works on the deal btw

    Code: NATION10%

    • Thanks, mate. Purchased one with this code, it comes down to $446

    • Damn! missed out on another $50 off. Happy enough i got this deal since they are now out of stock.

As with most others at the moment gunna be working from home for a good 6 months i feel :(

  • Bummer. I just convinced the wife.

    • +2

Next time just ask for forgiveness, that's what I've done

  • +3

I had it in my cart and it let me buy including with the 10% code thanks @tenoclockfindu

  • +3

Had one in my cart too. Seems the product has been taken off the site but managed to check out.
Invoice definitely states two monitors. Good deal OP.

    Horrendous website though… Like. Terrible.

  • Anyone had any shipping emails yet?

    • Mine has progressed and order is showing it will be split shipping. It hasn't been shipped as yet.

      • did you recieve an email? how did you look up your order?

        • when I ordered i created an HP account. I can see my order in the portal.

          • @dmorg78: yeah i created an account now under the same email i used for my order - i notice now they have the 2 monitors in the first order which has progressed and the second order has the keyboard, mouse and adaptor.

Hoping you dont need the adaptor to use the monitors?

            • @TightTerry: This my question also, as we are on the same situation.

              • +2

@kampret: just calling them now, will ask.

                • @dmorg78: So that wasn't the most successful call I've ever had.

                  Basically

                  1. Both 24" monitors are expected to be delivered by 31st March.
                  2. Wireless kb/mouse and power supply to be delivered by 10th April
                  3. 34" UW Monitor expected to be delivered by 10th April
                  4. Tech support couldn't assist as to whether the 90w power supply was required for the 24" monitors to function.

    • Did you get this information from email or through hp website?

      • Email came through tonight

    • Just got an email with the same exact March 30th For the monitors.

  • +1

Bundle #1 is showing on the site again, just grabbed one and the NATION10% code still works. ETA 22/04-05/05

    • lucky! It's gone again

  • My 2 monitors just arrived - ill set them up this arvo and let you know what you can connect without the AC adaptor.

  • +1

My two monitors arrived as well. I've done a quick setup before getting back to work. Both are working perfectly, linked via Displayport.

Currently I'm using power from the monitor as it isn't charging my HP laptop via USB-C. Probably a setting to change somewhere tonight it my guess.

Now I really don't know what the other power supply is for.

34" scheduled to arrive on Thursday.

    • Mine arrived today after ordering Friday night and I'm in the same boat, wondering WTF the separate AC adaptor is for?!

My Lenovo laptop is charging via USB C from the monitor so not sure what the point is of the additional AC adaptor that is yet to ship? It seems redundant?

  • the #1 bundle is back on the website again for anyone that missed it. 5-10 day wait.

    • Is it sold out already? Looks like I missed out again!

      • Same here!

  • I got my two monitors yesterday and now looking for a VESA desk mount. Any recommendation?

  • Not sure if a stupid question, but would it be possible to connect a system like this to a laptop without USB-C? Would there be some sort of USB-C to USB-3 adaptor to provide the same function?

Also hoping this bundle comes back into stock.

    • There are plenty of out ports on the back of both these monitors, hdmi, displayport, vga. im sure there is an adapter if you wanted just the one connection as well.

  • So ive got the dual monitors setup, very easy - ive got them connected together with the display port cable (im assuming you can also connect them together via a HDMI cable?), When using my Dell work laptop it connects up easily with just the usb-C cable - laptop is charging and 3 monitors are displaying as separate displays, perfect.

My only annoyance so far is when i try and connect up my Macbook pro via the USB-C connection, everything works except the 2x HP monitors are recognized as only 1 display (ie the display on the 2 monitors is duplicated) so its showing only 2 screens in display settings, wondering if there is a way for the mac to recognize the monitors as separate. I have a workaround and that is un-chain the 2 monitors and connect one into my mac via the usb-c connection and the other in via HDMI. A little annoying as now i have 2 inputs for my mac and i have to unchain the monitors at the back before use.

Any idea if there is any software i can try and install to get the mac to recognize 3 displays? - or maybe the mac just doesn't like daisy chaining the monitors.

    • Just did a quick search and it looks like it's not supported on MacOS.

      https://medium.com/@sebvance/everything-you-need-to-know-abo…

      • yeah did the same hunting, a little annoying but i dont swap over my personal mac and mywork laptop too often and not a massive issue having the 2 connections into my mac.

        • +1

          That's gotta be frustrating.

I found out why my work laptop won't charge over USB-C too. I have an Elitebook 820 G3, which per the specs she has "USB basic type-C".

The manual for the E243d states NOTE: Your computer USB Type-C port must be able to support USB Type-C Alt Mode and data and power delivery".

Guessing in the efforts to keep production costs low, they hamstrung thee laptop.

Running the DC cable from the monitor is fine though, and I have cable tied the two together.

          • +1

@dmorg78: Nice one. Im pretty happy with the setup ive got now, nice and clean and easy to connect in and take my laptop with just the 1 USB-c connection.

Minor annoyance with the Macs inability to daisy chain however i have an adaptor and the hdmi solution that gets it working.

Now just need to get a decent monitor arm to get rid of the monitor stands and happy days!

    • So i seem to be answering my own question re my mac - https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/356881/macbook-pro…

      Doesn't seem possible unfortunately.

  • Stupid question - how the hell do you activate the webcam on the E243D

    • You got to connect the USB upstream port to your computer/laptop.

      • +1

I just realized you’ve got push down on it to pop it up face palm

  • +2

Who else is checking this daily to see if it's back in stock?! lol

    • My workmates want in on the deal. It popped back for a few minutes last Friday and I snagged my manager the dual monitor bundle. Needless to say he owes me a few beers.

  • Anyones delivery for the additional items blown out? - i have received the monitors

My estimated shipping date for the keyboard and mouse is now - Estimated Ship Date: 24.04.2020

And HP 90W Smart AC Adapter (which i dont really care for) doesnt have a shipping date at all anymore.

    • Mine is worse - Estimated Ship Date: 01.06.2020 (Waiting stock)

      • That is insane!

  • 27/4 on the KB, Mouse, PSU for me. Not sure even HP would know how accurate that is given the state of the world at the moment.

    I received 2 x 24" monitors from order 1. 1 x 34", 1xTB3 Dock, 1 x KB/Mouse from Order 2.

  • They emailed me to offer a replacement —if I dont want to wait for the keyboard, mouse, and Smart AC Adapter to arrive. But I couldn't think of what replacement it would be.

  • keyboard and mouse came yesterday - im gunna ask for money back for the adaptor/charger as there is no sign of it coming. Its probably worked out well though as i have no need or want for it so if i can get money back or swap it over for something else, win/win.
