Sounds more like a competition than a bargain. But i guess it meets Ozb rules of qty.

Actually if you dont mind paying $136 more, you can get it right now, no wait no competition.

if you dont mind paying $136 more

      Against the ozb ethos.

  • How much is delivery for the SSD? It wouldn’t be included in the price would it.

  • I have the i5 version of this Laptop, very pleased with dual screen for Uni work
I know different model but FYI before the cashback offer got started got onto ebay 15% sale and paid $1374

  • Porsche design wow!

  • Great laptop, waiting on a good deal for the pro version.

    • The 4K 15.6" one? It's around $4,700 now

      • Yeah, I wish they had just put in a decent GPU in this one and it would be fine but, i feel like this is overkill for most daily stuff but not good enough for anything a little demanding like gaming or rendering.

  • What do you use that 2nd screen for other than to show off? It's pretty useless.

Have you ever used 2 monitors before? It's incredibly useful. If you're actually needing to get work done, working on multiple things at once it is so much more efficient having both things up at once instead of having to switch over between tabs and windows or split the screen where everything is smaller and you need to scroll. If you need to video call and get work done, message people while focussing on something else, work on one document with another open in front of you, heck even if none of that having your music player or file explorer or command line right there is super useful.

I've recently gone from 2 to 3 monitors on my desktop and once you go there you can never go back.

I don't disagree on benefit of multiple monitors but keeping in mind where the 2nd screen is, I think it still doesn't feel "right".

That being said my WFH seup is a 49" 32:9 which works just as well with Fancyzones.

        • Still a lot better than nothing IMO as long as you're not needing to use it on your lap. I've tried one out for a little bit and it seems like something that I could get used to.

If lenovo made this with a better keyboard and a trackpoint I would buy in an instant.

          • @BenR31415: <3 Lenovo.

(although my X1 Carbon has a weird TB3 controller issue which causes random freezes… very un-Lenovo like.)

the concept behind it was for design work. Supposedly with some apps (like photoshop or premiere) you can use the second screen for the timeline/library viewer or toolboxes.

In the windows system, it just acts as a second touchscreen - so essentially as a second screen can be used to browse web text/discord or other stuff. Very niche and at a resolution roughly 1920*540 it may have use depending. The inbuilt asus zenbook app browser was ok when i demo it at JB Hi-Fi.

"useless" - probably still more use than macbook touchbar.

Some reviewers have found the second screen useful, others a gimmick.

      YMMV.
