Wow..looks like hand Sanitiser is new gold…

    • +2

And TP is the new silver?

Anyway, just wondering if 'anti bacterial'='anti viral'?

      • +1

If the active ingredient is at least 60% alcohol, then yes.

      • Nope, TP is Bronze

  • +5

    Price gouging at it's finest - $80 for 1L?

    • -1

Yeah, price point wise, it's not my favourite but seeing as it's hard to find hand sanitiser nowadays, it's better than paying $10+ for a 60mL bottle that I've seen on eBay, Fb Marketplace etc. Would be a better deal if you're buying other products and want to reach the $50 minimum spend for free shipping.

  • where is the BARGAIN ?????

    • +1

It sure as hell isn't here.

      • +8

Happy to take it off if you guys don't feel it's something that should be posted. My understanding is that these things are hard to find nowadays so I thought I'd do a post.

        • +6

No, leave it up. I for one would rather see "non-bargain" deals for stuff people need at the moment still get posted, even if the prices aren't amazing. This may be OzBargain, but nothing is normal right now.

        • +2

Hard to find, sure but that doesn't mean this should in any way be considered a 'deal'. Price gouging listings should not be posted here, whatever the justification may be.

  • Where I can get it every day it’s $5 120ml

    • Where? Please share.

      • Gisbourne victoria supermarket the get pallets of it

        • Thanks.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed 2.

We shouldn't be supporting businesses that think it's okay to inflate prices to ridiculously expensive points just because the demand there.

I'm just glad noone's posted Kogan's outrageous prices.

    • +1

I agree with you that we shouldn't support inflated prices, but as I've said, this is just the a 'better' (but not the best) price I've seen in awhile and I definitely wouldn't buy off eBay where I've seen some bottles fetch up to $100.

The thing with Nourished Life store is that only sell quality products that are free from toxins. This would be a better deal for those who are buying other stuff anyway but can't reach the $50 mark for free shipping. Shipping is $8 so better to add the hand sanitiser in and get the shipping free.

      • +1

Don't need to listen, I already found one
I'm not needing hand sanitiser myself as I'm largely at home - so antibacterial soap is more urgent.
I just feel sorry for everyone that's forking out massive amounts of money and simultaneously giving businesses more opportunities to jack the prices further.

        • No one is being forced to buy hand sanitiser.

          • @dm01: Well no one is being forced to buy anything but there is a thing called stopping the spread. Unless you want the outbreaks of other countries to happen here?

            • @pennypincher98: It's not hand sanitiser that is stopping the spread.

              • +2

@dm01: It does in a way. Care to elaborate why you think it doesn't help stop the spread? If it kills the virus then don't you think it somehow stops the spread?

  • +1

Why even support this? This is price gouging and not really a deal. Tempted to neg

    • +1

neg away, i reckon. i used to be really hesitant to neg any post, but then this crisis and the unscrupulous behaviour happened…

  • $18 for 125ml bottle. Not fair.

    • I believe it's $9.95 for a 125mL bottle. Unless you calculated it twice the price, which then would equate to 250mL.

      • +1

        $8 for postage

        • Postage is postage.

          • +2

@dm01: Yes and $ is $. The total you will pay is $18 for one bottle.

            • +1

@mhc: You realise they sell more than just hand sanitiser? You release you can buy more than one bottle? Your thinking is rather inflexible.

              • @dm01: Whatever!

              • +1

                @dm01: Limit of 2.
                So $28 for 250ml.

Also for your "they sell more than hand sanitiser" comment that's exactly what they want you to do

Spend at least $30 on their overpriced products so you can save $8 on shipping.

                • @pennypincher98:

Also for your "they sell more than hand sanitiser" comment that's exactly what they want you to do

                  OMG - don't tell me they're a RETAILER!!!

                  • +1

@dm01: You do realise we are actually in a global economic downturn at the moment right?
People aren't wanting to buy all these expensive luxury "no toxin" products just for free shipping on already expensive hand sanitiser.

  • sigh… this is not a deal but for us with 5 in the family what choice do i have (i have 1 bottle in the house)? we need to have something if we head out grocery shopping etc… im pretty annoyed at having to pay this, but so far no luck anywhere near me even puttin names down at pharmacies they dont call… guessing at this stage the staff set some aside for themselves and family/friends as well.

    • …we need to have something if we head out grocery shopping…

Just have one person go shopping rather than multiple people. The more people out and about, the riskier it is and the more sanitiser you need to use.

      • yep we do i take the small bottle work gave me lol… but yeh have to have something as this bottle is pretty much done. … still these prices are just frustrating.. not just this stuff hot dollar stores selling boxes of tissues for $5 .. Roll of extremely thin (cant even be calle 1 ply) paper towels for $5 .. lol …

    • sigh… this is not a deal but for us with 5 in the family what choice do i have (i have 1 bottle in the house)?

Check these people out, they're a distillery in Brisbane.

      They're on Facebook as well.

      • oh thanks mate will do!

  • +1

I wish I had seen this sooner, found a bottle for a friend and mailed it to him, didn't realise it'd cost me $10 to post it, so sending him a bottle of hand sanitiser ended up costing me $23…

  • +2

    Price gouging.

  • +1

Why not just use soap and water and save your money? I understand it won't work when you're outside, in which case I would recommend cheap disposable gloves.

    • +2

I have not seen disposable gloves in local Woolworths and Coles for the last 2 weeks. Maybe I go at the wrong time?

  • +2

their price gouging is bad and they should feel bad

  • Health Minister Greg Hunt will attack price-gouging of the same critical items, with a spokesman saying there was no place for “profiteering in a time of crisis”.

“We are taking strong action so as to protect the vulnerable from the greedy,” he said.

Price-gouging is defined as trying to charge 20 per cent more than what was originally paid for the goods.

    • oooh "strong action."

that's all well and good with the tough talk but do they realise this gouging has been going on for weeks, by private sellers as well as retailers.

  • +2

More disgusting behaviour that gets blind up votes as usual, Non-OzBargain it's turning into

  • Bunnings, can you get antibacterial wipes from Bunnings. I've only got about a dozen left in the pack I have.
