110

Just saw this posted on the Optus site. As a start up business owner the deal is great for me.
Offer is

$99 - Fusion plan inc 500GB internet and unlimilted local/National and calls to Optus Mobiles.
$19.95 - 2GB of wireless broadband internet, very handy as for my type of work on the road.

I receive a free Lenonovo Thinkpad, Optus claim its worth $899 but I have found it for $600.

Still a pretty good deal -you just need an ABN, and I get 2 Qantas points per dollar on these Optus services too!

if you pay $118 a month as your comms spend you should look to cutting back somewhere

    • the fusion plan includes line rental, free calls and internet… 99 bux for that isnt too bad. considering most people pay around 60 bux minimum for home line and net. (or 50+20 line) also if your making a few calls as you do with a business i'm sure it would usually be over 40 dollars a month.

      ALSO TO OP:
change title "adsl" to Broadband as optus also do cable…dont see exclusive ADSL in the link you sent.

      • To get the laptop to need to get the $20/mth mobile broadband plan aswell, over a 24mth contract you would pay $2854.80~, make what you may of this but not a big bargain for me…

        • yep, but if you where going to get those services anyway… i've been tempted to get both of those.. fusion with a nice big data limit and wireless for when im away. (tablet browsing- or 13" laptop!)

  • Up to 500MB Broadband data (then speed limited to 256kbps)

    • MB or GB?

he's pointing out a flaw on the web site… either that or the OP just got ripped off!

        • I believe the website was wrong….looks like it has been updated
The net plan suits my budget and I was always going to get a wireless device
          lenovo was a bonus i guess…great timing :)

      • yer it is a error on there site just pointing it out, I contacted them about it to get it fixed.

Should say Up to 500GB Broadband data (then speed limited to 256kbps)

oh thank god. lol imagine 500mb for business plan hahahaha

  • 24 month contract…

What kind of small business requires 500gb/month? That's a massive amount if data. I work from home 100% of the time in IT and have 50gb/month and don't even scratch the surface. I have TPG phone & Internet bundle - $50/ month (plus calls). Compared to this deal, that leaves me $1200 over 24 months for a laptop and calls.

Do you really want us to list the business types that may require this much or more?

Obviously not all businesses are the same as yours so as you can understand some people may be interested in this.

Guess you dont host content though…
and you only have one user. different folks…

also, it's pretty foolish to run a half-serious business off tpg's home phone service (unreliable, no fax, no csg). you pretty much need a pstn line

      • I guess that depends on the type of business (to misquote someone who responded earlier!). My business is pretty serious and has no problem with TPG, I do agree with others though - different businesses = different requirements.

In regards to TPG being unreliable - I've been with them for 12 months, I've never had an internet outage or speed issues, however I can recall 1 telephone outage.

  • it is good, but Hawthorn East (3123) is not serviceable…

  • optus's netwrok is not useable atm

    • I thought it was just me, i had the premium speed packl (100MB) at home, but was only ever able to get a max of about 20-30, so i dumped the speed pack… dodgy optus!

think telstra give the premium speeds away for free as well.

      • optus cable sucks, and i can not move to telstra cable.Really consider go back to adsl2+

      • Damn that sucks dude, lots of people on whirlpool apparently get 60 - 70Mbps.

        Anyway on Bigpond Cable I get 20 - 32Mb/s.

This seems like a good deal for people who need it.

        • actually the only time i got those speeds was doing a speed test on the vic optus MIRROR!!! so id say they fudge the test! felt ripped off as the most i could download stuff (multiple files)at was about 2-3MBs not bad, but not worth the premuim speed pack
and i knew it was dodgy because when i added more downloads the total downloads stayed the same yet the individual downloads slowed down… DODGY!!!

now i get about 1.1 MB a sec, i mean its not really that bad.. but not as advertised!
          !!
