      • My pre auth has disappeared but no word on my credit check.

        I think its quite normal, the authorisation charge is only to confirm that the card you provided during the sign up is valid. There is no outright cost to the plan so you won't see any actual charge on the card anyway.

        I rang up when the Order Tracking page asked me for more information (accidentally used the wrong expiry date on my ID), the guy on the phone fixed it and I think it went through as I got an email saying the device was on backorder.

        However I did receive a text from Vodafone this morning asking me to do their digital ID check so I did that - now to wait and see

          • @sprnv: Same day, probably an hour after their listed business hours for when they open. Was on hold for about 40 minutes before I got to someone

            • @Garbotoxin: Thanks. Mine's still "We need more information to complete your order", but I received the text and did the ID check on the same day. RIP, not sure if I should still wait it out or call now but I'll give it some more time.

      Cool, I just got the same update as well. Fingers crossed but I highly doubt that they will honour the free tablet deal, it just doesn't make any business sense. I am happy to lock myself for 36 months if they like but I don't know if this is going to be enough. Wait and watch I guess….

      For this very reason, I have doubt in them honouring the deal. Had it bean a contract of some sort, I probably would have thought that VF has at least something to gain. In this M2M plans though, they have nothing to gain.

      I hope I am wrong though, like many others - I am also waiting for the shiny tablet :)

    It has been around 5 days now since I placed the order. Still "need more information" status. Wondering if I should call them now and risk the order getting cancelled. Anyone in this situation still ?

      • Sorry. What is this security check now ? I placed the order and was debited $1 from my card. Also, received an email 5 days back saying "Your application is under way.

        Your application should be completed shortly. We'll contact you when your application has been completed or if we need any more information"

        Did I miss something ?

          There are a few of us in the same boat as you cheap chip. Hang in there son! I was told my order would be cancelled after I was told about the system "glitch" but it's still in the order tracking page. So I've got even less of a chance than everyone else lol.

        • They send a SMS with a link to do a security check where you need to take a photo of your id and face.

          Are you an existing Vodafone customer? That's probably why you don't need to do it.

          • @Xishnik: I was a Vodafone customer, now with Optus on the same number. I did not receive any SMS asking for ID :/

            • @cheap chip: Maybe they still have your ID in the system so don't need to followup on it.

    • I'm in the exact same situation as you. I don't want to call because the email never mentions order tracking, so they can't really expect us to see that message. I'm planning to wait until they contact me, but if they don't within the next week I guess I'll cave and call…

    You call VF or not, you pick up their phone or not… if they are going to cancel your order, they will. Just my two cents

        Hmm… it said something went wrong with your order number. Please try another number or something along those lines, but trying again just then it says the previous message of "We need more information to complete your order. Please call customer care on 1300 650 410".

          The Vodafone rep I was talking to basically said that since the back-end system had the correct pricing, anyone receiving the device will get the correct billing (ie not $0 for the iPad) or have to send it back.

          Guess they'd better keep an eye on their CC statements. Either way the rest of us will probably never find out what happens to them.

  • They're going through the whole list (around 1000).
    It'll take some time because they've got only a few reps calling at the moment (their words).
    I've ordered at around 02:30, Vodafone customer and received the email with 15$ only.

    Super bizarre…I just received a sms saying they got my order. Awaiting more stock. “ We have received your order . We'll let you know when it's left the warehouse. To track your order, visit http://www.vodafone.com.au/tracking”

  • All orders will end up being canceled. They will not honor for any reason. If you do not answer, they will try a few attempts including sending out an email. After that, your order will disappear in their system and no longer available on the tracking website. From a person who just got a call from Vodafone - Cheers

    • So they've done a credit check on your file but then just cancel the order regardless? Seems like a losing situation going for this deal :(

        I am an existing VF customer so my order was already processed but kept on hold due to the price error. The lady on the phone was quite polite and explain that there is no reason for them to honor a 2k worth device and everyone can easily tell that there was a price error.

        They have plenty of this new model in stock, hence their website states that the estimated delivery time frame is 3-5 business days depends on where you live if you place a new order today and obviously with the corrected prices.

        I was offered a 10% discount on the plan only so I rejected it.

    Havn't heard anything since. Not sure what to do?

      • As in should i call them, which is what it tells me to do if i track the order number

        • This has been discussed already.

          Most people aren't aware of the tracking as no email tells them or provides a link to the tracker.

          If you call them now, they will cancel the order and explain it is a price error.

          Your best hope is to wait and hope your order sneaks through via the standard process.

        • No news is good news. I did the credit check SMS as as soon as I got it. Ordered just before 7am. My email is 15/month and not an existing customer. I will wait for them to contact me, but it is killing me not knowing.

  • Just called Vodafone and after a good 50 minutes to get to speak to someone, got told they cant find my order number. I'm an old Vodafone customer and she looked up the old account as well and cant find anything.

    Order number I received begins with 'VF' and apparently that some sort of a reference number and not really an order number. Says, perhaps the order never went through :|

    • Have you ordered something from Vodafone in the past? What was the format for the order number? If 'VF' isn't correct, I wonder if anyone got a different order number when they tried to get the iPad.

      My order number also starts with VF.

      • last i ordered something from them was in 2014 and can only find a tracking number with '2-' as the starting digits from my email history. Not sure if she was looking up something wrong or just trying to dump my call.

    Yep I got the email as well, regrettably I won’t be receiving a shiny new iPad via a technical issue. I will now apply to Vodafone and be be charged correctly for a shiny new iPad.

    Seems a bit dodgy that they happy to charge the $15 but not deliver the iPad.

    Maybe it's because I selected esim not physical sim.

    • Definitely should call now mate. No iPad and a crappy $15/month expenditure a month. Lose this “ I deserve a free iPad” attitude and you will be okay. Nothing is dodgy just a price error.
