        • Several of us are under different circumstances like @Schumi5 had mentioned. I just cancelled my order cause I also received an email confirmation that my monthly total was going to be $101.20. I wouldn't risk it at that point.

    I just received a text message to verify my ID. Done that and now awaiting for them to provide the outcome of the credit check.

        • It is very different IMO, that was related to service (Plan cost) and this one is related to product cost. The price difference in NZ was only $10 but here we are talking $50+ each month for 3 years.

    I have not received an email other than the original order confirmation.

    I think they have cancelled it.

    Update: says now “ We need more information to complete your order. Please call customer care on 1300 650 410”

    So site may be playing up.

    • Did you have to do the photos for verification .. perhaps its paused until a human verifies those images?

    • Yep, same for me too… they are buying more time to resolve the issue. I guess we may get a phone call at some point in time with a revised offer but don't think we are getting the shiny new gadget for literally free.

        • Monthly? Depends on 12/24/36mth but thought I read in one of the previous pages $157 but then again I could have just pulled that number from nowhere.
          But it really looks as though the system will be billing everyone the correct price, email discrepancy or not.

  • Someone from Vodafone rang me confirm if my order was real or not. She said that they normally have approx 20 orders over night, this time they had over 1,000.

    I said yes it is legitimate. She said she will push the order through. I received a text taking me to a verification thing where I had to send a photo of my holding my licence and it scanned my face - Give a big smile! it says. All done.

    Anyone else do this?

          That's excellent, are you an existing VF customer? May be check your account and see that you can only see $15 there too? I guess it probably won't be updated until you activate the service

        I said - you probably got inundated because it was only $15 per month. She goes yes that's a special due to COVID-19. I just said oh ok. She was in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to say well $15 per month yes but no charge for the iPad. She just said yep all good I'll put it through have a nice day bye thanks

          Be careful and check your bill each month. I've been in a similar situation where Vodafone later corrected the bills after finding out about their pricing error. In the end I had to cancel the plan and return the device.

              @jamestownfx: Yes payment is month to month, you are still locked into a 12 month contract. If you cancel right away, you'll have to pay the termination fee based on the correct amount of $174-$216 per month left on the contract.

            @Ebaygiftcards: Cancel it as soon as you receive it. It's a month to month. So you will just spend $15 for the first month and that's it.

  • weirdest thing just happened to me…calling Vodafone to deal with this order, it automatically put me into a private enquiry between another operator & customer…thats not very…private

        So I guess if they don't call my order will be cancel.

        Try to call but was keep on hold.
        Then I think just have to wait.

      • Just call Vodafone and they said it's a price error. Either cancel the order or proceed the order with normal price..

              • @IMadeYouReadThis: I did not ask anything. It seems like they know the situation. It's probably too many calls today asking the same ipad order.

                • @danawys: I got told the same thing. They have two systems: the backend ordering system which is the full, correct price and the online web system, which glitched this morning. The backend system never changed, so anyone receiving the iPad will get the full correct billing, or have to return their device and cancel.

                  Anyone who got told $0: the rep only checked one system.

                  So if you have a device on the way keep your eyes open

                    I've received 3 update emails, all of them stating the 15$ price.
                    Wouldn't they have been generated by the backend system?

  • Order placed before 7 am. Anyone had any luck with getting their device shipped ?

    Didn't receive any email correspondences from Vodafone after the "Application is under way" status email and still pending credit check.

  • I inadvertently placed 2 orders one with mobile( I didn’t see the confirmation page so I did it again on the PC) and another on the PC. One is “ we are still processing your order” the other is “ awaiting ID check”. One total summary is completely blank whilst the other ones shows $15/month.

    I’m just going to chill and wait for them to call to cancel.

    I ordered at 5am, checked the status just now and it said "We need more information to complete your order. Please call customer care on 1300 650 410", so I called up and they said they're just waiting on the credit check and don't need to do anything, so just waiting for the credit check to be approved and then its green light from there

    • It seems like different customer service person has different response. The one I called is pretty bad..

    I just got off a call with them, they said it was indeed an error but my order had already been pushed free. Rep said I would get it for free!

        Around 6:50am, right before they fixed it a few minutes later. Already existing customer so order went through without needing a check.

        • Dam, ordered at 1am WST, but by the time I noticed the SMS asking for ID and did it it was about 9:30am WST and its now in holding … probably was too slow because of that.

            • @danawys: Is this a fact? Only existing VF users can get the deal? I was early enough (6AM) to jump in but i remember it was such a pain to sort mobile contract problem (in case they overcharged) with endless calls with different people. Decided to miss this one.

              • @Bargain-er: I believe that's the fact. If you are existing customer, you don't need to do credit check and the system automatically approves the order before they realise it's a price error.
