Vodafone are throwing in a free 2 month credit for customers who are AHPRA-registered health practitioners.

The carrier has not yet announced specific details about how eligible customers can apply but they say they won't be taking action over any unpaid bills until the end of April in the meantime.

Other providers might follow suit?

Both of my in-laws are frontline workers in regional Vic and no way they would ever use Vodafone given how important it is (sometimes life and death) that they can be contactable, and given how utterly shit Vodafone is.

Hopefully the other networks follow suit.

Optus announced a similar measure (3 months free for healthcare workers) yesterday

We both know which network is the network that needs to do this in order to make it really worthwhile for frontline workers.

        • True that! I'm sure they'll follow suit

          Aldi?

          • @ColonelYumYum: The only Telstra reseller that I'd trust if I were one of my PILs is Boost, the rest have shit coverage and are cut off at the knees compared to full-fat Telstra.

  • big help. thanks.

  • Will it be for Vodafone NBN plans too ?

    • Did you even read the title dude? Seriously?

      • Calm down mate, it’s not an unreasonable question.

        • I wanna know too, but for Optus.

        • Lazy ass question,he can read the title and the link

@[Deactivated]: Ok mate but phone service and internet service are both telecom carriage services, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that internet services will be adjusted as well.

Also health workers tend to work shift, often back to back with no sleep or little sleep in between. This is a mad period. I let my nursing registration lapse last year and I've just been notified that I'm automatically reregistered to help with the deluge. That's unheard of. This is not a normal time.

Tiredness can come over as laziness if you don't take context into account.

            • @0jay: I wish my AHPRA registration was free for the year liek you

            • @0jay: That IS unheard of! What happened to good old bureaucracy?

  • I'm sure OzBargain will be informed if others 'follow suit'. How many telecommunication companies are there in Australia? That's the number of times we'll be informed.
