    I don't have these muffs but I do own several pairs of the Howard Leight ones (both the cheap Impact Sports and the more dear Pro models.)

    None of them are good for working with tools etc.

  These would only be good for small bore (like .22) and small pistol.

  Need stronger ones or use plugs as well for big bore (308, magnum, etc.)

  They limit maximum noise peaks.
