Excludes 58x and 6xx. Not really sitewide.

  • +7

They upped the prices on stock they had after the Aud dipped … Pretty bloody dodgy considering it was already shipped in - the 10% off doesn't cover the difference.

    • +1

      AUD just dropped yesterday?

      • Majority of their stocks came in this month or last?

        • No i highly doubt that, it would have come in when the AUD was stable ~0.66 - 0.7

          • -3

@paraneoplastic: How would you know when they bought their stocks?

Regardless, they are running a business and if you're not happy with the prices, you can choose to go somewhere else if you can find better prices.

            • +2

@zeomega: Because it was in stock prior to the aud going down? No shit Sherlock hence why I was letting people know to go else where instead of these price jackers with a fallacious ‘10% off’

  • Any bargains

    • +1

Not really. They’ve increased prices on some products before offering 10% off. Not long time ago ACCC fined some Harvey Norman stores for the same misleading campaigns.

    • Depends what you're after. I was looking for a Grado blue early last year. These guys were the cheapest even compared to ebay. Same price as now, so 10% on top makes it a great deal.

      • Are you addicted to audio??

        • +1

Noop. Just a buyer haha. I felt "not really" any bargains was a bit over exaggerated. If you are in the market for something, these guys are easily worth a look.

I mean some things are more expensive. AQ tower cable is $50 here, $40 from random ebay seller, so even with 10% off, you're paying more here.

    They also

    1) increased prices of recent Fiio X5 from $219 to $388 and
    2) 10% doesn’t apply sitewide: T&C “exclusions apply” on Focal and others that already “on special”

    Very dodgy

    • +1

That's not entirely correct. The titanium version was $219, which is now sold out. The red version is being quoted as $388 now.

      • +1

Not correct: Checked red version two days ago and it was $219 then increased to $388; all other colours were sold by then.

        • Red has never changed I am afraid.

  • +1

-10% still costs more than their regular sale a week ago - not really a bargain

  • +7

The price of Kef LS50 Wireless have gone up by 11% since yesterday. That's dissapointing

    Price today $3,373.00

    Price yesterday $3,036.00

    • Not long time ago ACCC fined some Harvey Norman stores for the same misleading campaigns.

    • Feels like they'd have been better off by just saying "excludes items already on sale", which is kinda fair enough.

    • +1

thats all the price jack proof I need … shame

  • +4

Sad that such a good retailer is going rogue.

  • +1

Damn, disappointed to hear about the price jacking from these guys. Always thought they had a pretty good rep around here with deals.

  • +6

glad to see them caught out, ill be sure to avoid them from now on.

  • A bit disappointing to see price increases on some products. Items I have purchased recently seem unaffected :
    AQ tower, same price
    Schiit mani, same price
    Grado blue, same price

  • Not audiophile type stuff but a couple of Sony Google assistant speakers seem pretty cheap

  • Was thinking about pulling the trigger on the Sony NW A100. With this, price goes to ~$539, which is the cheapest I've seen it.

    • Not worth it. The A100 is literally an NW-A45 and NW-A55 while the ZX507 is an NW-ZX300 with Android and USB-C. Problem is battery life is pretty awful on the new Sony DAPs while the prices are ridiculously higher. You're better off buying the Hiby R3 Pro ($300 AUD) or Hiby R5 ($490 AUD) if you wanted Android at this point which actually has more features (power, 4.4mm jack even on the R3 Pro) and better battery life (go figure, it was a selling point for the Sony WM1A and ZX300)

  • Such a shame! These guys used to have amazing deals… I bought my pair of WH1000-XM3's from them nearly 2 years at $349 which was pretty much the lowest price out there.

I have bought a headphone 3 days ago, do I get some store credit?

    • +1

I don’t see why you should unless they have a policy stating as such (very few retailers do). I didn’t neg you btw, but you shouldn’t expect stuff like this.

      • Just asking, I don't mind being nag. It does nothing to me 🙃.

  • Can anyone give advice on where the best place to buy Sonos? I can see some of their prices are comparable to JBs and Amazon but is there somewhere else I should look out for?

Or is it a case of holding out until the EOFY sales?

  • Anyone have any experience with the RUARK AUDIO MR1 MK2 active speakers? Been eyeing these off for a while and they are a bit cheaper with this sale. Or anyone have any picks for good active speakers around the $700 to $1000 range.

    • +1

These are very good award winning speakers and got 5 starts from WhatHiFi https://www.whathifi.com/au/ruark-audio/mr1-mk2/review

      • I did see that review but wanted to see if someone actually had them here. :). I can probably get more bang for the buck with something else, too many choices!

  • For those that missed out on the Focal Elear @ $499 this code works on Elear with the carry case ($599 before discount - https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/focal-elear-open-bac…) bringing it down to $539.10
Not as great as $499 but still not bad for an additional $40.10 to get the carry case.

  • Just bought a Sonos Play 5 here, $608.

I know the price isn't as good as some of the bargains offered by various retailers last year before the AUD dropped, but it's significantly cheaper than everywhere else right now (~$675). +1 from me, I'm a happy customer.
