    Barely water resistant at 3 ATM :
    30m, 3 atm = Splash resistant. Ok for rain, hand washing, other occasional contact with water. 50m, 5 atm = Suitable for swimming, fishing, other outdoor activities. 100m, 10 atm = Suitable for snorkeling and other prolonged contact with water, but not for scuba

      I swim in mine all the time and shower with it on daily, still going strong after 12+ months…but I am trying to kill it and claim the Gen 5 as a replacement under warranty. Might need to leave it in the sink for a few days.

      Not exactly. You can answer calls but it doesn't have a speaker, only a microphone. So you can't have conversations through it.

      Yes you can. Ideally you'd also have a leather strap with quick release spring bars as well so that you don't need any tools to swap it out.

    Reviews on fossils website is the back plate seems to come unstuck? Seems to be quite common in the reviews

      Yup happened to me after only a few weeks. Very common. Fossil are good with warranty but honestly not with3 the hassle. Returned and went with a Samsung watch, it's bulletproof.

      Watch looks the goods. Glad i checked the reviews, never seen so many negative reviews on a watch at this price point. Not buying now.

      Yeah I loved this watch, was really really good but had to return it because the back (where the charging coil rings are) came off. So it is onviously a design flaw.

    Picked this up for US$100 while in the US. Went from the Gear S3 to this. Absolutely love it. My only real issue is that it's really easy to accidentally trigger the Google voice command (it's the largest button and a bent wrist will trigger it)

        The rose gold watch arrived today and it's a Gen 4. Only down side is that i have no idea on adjusting the strap

          Did you get it sorted out? I took 2 links out of my black one yesterday - it's a bit daunting if you haven't done it before but isn't too tricky.

          If you look in the 'inside' of the bracelet (the part that touches your wrist) there will.be some arrows pointing out to the pins between linkages. If you have an appropriate tool you can tap these pins through to release them. One of my precision screwdriver sets had a round tip that works great for this.

          There is also a minor adjustment you can do where the clasp joins the bracelet to get it a little tighter (3 sets of holes to choose from).

          Keep the removed links in case you need them in the future.

          Otherwise, if you can find a jeweller that's open, I'm sure they'd do it for you.

    I was deciding between Gen 4 or Gen 5, but i bought this as i would only use it for Google Pay and Notifications, not a big fan of Google Assistant etc.
    $159 What a bargain !

      Gen4 has google assistant too. It just doesn't have a speaker so it can't give you verbal responses.
