  • Does the SIM allow incoming calls? Outgoing? Rates? I want to stick this in my tablet phone thingy, and it's nice to be able to call out over the GSM occasionally (when VOIP is down, or 3g reception is bad etc)

Otherwise seems like a good deal. Vodafone seem to be serious about spending some money on their network now, and hopefully won't lose everyone's account details a second time :)

    • No calls can be made. It is purely usb or wifi modem internet

      • Thanks. Don't know what's with Ozbargainers and the neg voting on this one, seems like a good deal assuming Vodafone's network really is getting better

      • you can mate, if you got skype and DID

  • I am assuming it must be the new Wifi 2 to stay working on Vodas network.
    Rep can you confirm?

    • I just ordered it and asked if it was the 850MHz one and the guy said he was fairly sure it was, because it was the new model with the LCD on it. But yes, I'd like some actual confirmation of this from the rep if possible.

      • You bought something without actually knowing what it was? You deserve to get a picture of a wifi device.

  • And Wtf is with the $1 per gig? If I use 1 gig do I only pay $1 ? Otherwise it's $4 for 4 gigs.

    So which is it?

So many questions, so few answers.

    • @ Stumo,
I asked the same question when I signed up. I was told that I would only pay $1 if I used up to 1GB.

    • You choose and it is set.

$1 per month for 1GB per month
$2 per month for 2GB per month
$3 per month for 3GB per month
$4 per month for 4GB per month

You choose the plan at the beginning, say you choose 2GB per month. You can use up to 2GB per month for $2 per month and excess fees will apply to anything over the 2GB.

If you choose 4GB per month for $4 per month then you can use up to 4GB per month and anything over would incurr excess usage charges.

      • Sorry for being a pain, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't "Pay $1 per GIG for upto 4 GIGS of internet on your wireless usb stick." mean you only pay excess fees only when you use more than 4GB?
So as long as you use between 1to4GB, you only pay $1 per gig. I wasn't told to choose a plan when I signed up.

        • Customer Service are calling now to confirm your plan.

  • Also, have we had any confirmation that the pocket wifi is the new version that supports 850MHz?
HURRY HURRY only half an hour to find out. lol.

    • yes it is, it is the latest wifi modem

      • Is it locked to vodafone?

  • oohhhh i just missed this deal now :) can you do another one pls? :)

  • Grabbed this.
I figured $40 for a WiFi 2 modem is a deal and $4 per 4 GBs with no contract is BARGAIN.
I think people have really taken cynicism so far as to miss a killer deal here (just watch the excess).

Weirdly I was charged $40.80 (not $40) on the credit card for my modem.

    • That'll be a 2% credit card surcharge.

  • hi OP,
