Takes like 3 months to get your cashback, probably so you can't refund it or something.

    • +2

That's pretty much a standard cashback policy for all stores. Seems silly to allow people to get a cashback then just refund it for some sweet arbitrage.

  • I disputed the dodgy practice of not revealing a breach.

    They’re quite quick & reliable.

  • Juat to confirm, will this be around 16$ after cashback, for 3 yrs, isnt it a great deal, sorry new to VPN world

    • Very cheap. The service/speed they offer I’d usually pay $us30/yr (with a discount) for similar. Sure there are3 cheaper, but they’re usually slow.

    • So 12$ of charges (after 91% cash back)
+ ~12.5$ of GST or VAT or whatever tax. Because this is all in USD, when you select Australia as payment this amount will show up.

So about 25$ USD converting to AUD would be about 43-44 AUD.

      • Add some bank charges like 5$ or so (depends on the bank.)

so you end up paying 48-49 AUD or roughly 50 AUD for 3 years

BUT believe me it is a of a great value if you are interested to see other side of the world's internet

      • That's right, you get reamed both ways on the US-AU conversion and the final cashback amount is settled in whatever the US-AU rate is at the time (minus reaming fee) so you are kind of taking a little US/AU dollar bet

  • Is netflix US and Amazon Prime US working with this VPN?

    • I have nord it was working ok Till 3 months ago now won't work with US Netflix or Amazon prime. I contacted there support they told me they don't support them and cannot help further & maybe try again in few months.

Just got this last week (same deal at Cashrewards) and its working great for me with US Netflix. Thats the only one I have tried so far

      • +1

        same here

  • The speeds are good..

but my main use was for India zone, however some of the apps do not work yet and complain about using vpn..

    • Wht apps work in india zone using vpn

      • Almost everything used to work.. Hotstar, SonyLiv are the ones I used

    • -1

I am having similar issue. Hotstar not working with Nordvpn, tried connecting to all Chennai, Mumbai servers but no luvk. Is there anyother vpn that is working for hotstar?

  • Stupid question - is there any impact to leaving the location as "United States" for payment?

    • No.

    • +1

For the sake of saving 12-13 USD you are risking 91% of the amount.

My thinking - because shop back is an Aussie site and they will operate on AUD. However you can confirm with them by asking

  • People still opting for Nord eh, ;/

Got this deal last month. Torrents stopped working and I haven't been able to get it working. Waste of money.

    • ‘Torrents stopped working’ lol. 100% user error.

I tried to sign up and they couldn't get an activation email through to me. So I've decided if they can't even sign people up reasonably it's not a good impression about the effort they go to in the rest of their services so will take a pass.

    • Hmm that's strange - I signed up today and my activation and confirmation emails came through in about 2 minutes? Did your card get charged? Maybe try check your spam or send them a query if that's the case

      • -1

Yes they changed my card straight away without waiting for any activation. Still no email. These are worrying business practices.

        • Makes sense for them to charge the card immediately. Seems like a glitch as opposed to a 'business practice' as the majority of their users have signed up successfully. All went smoothly on my end.

        • So fragile dude. They are an enormous company. As if it’s anything other than a glitch or a user error. Calm your farm and contact them, they will sort you out.

I never received let alone replied to an activation email yet they still charged my card!? Seems like a business practice to me…

  • I clicked on the shopback link, signed up, then clicked on nordvpn deal, went to the nord website. Clicked on 3 years, put in an promo code, and they asked for email and card details. Put Australia as the location, still priced in USD. Got charged $223 by nord.

Edit:I searched my eMail for nordvpn, found out I signed up but didn't continue with the payment back in 2017. Would this still count as new customer?

    • I would say that’s definitely the issue. Whether they will still classify you as a new user would be at their discretion. Contact them and ask I guess.

  • First time Shopback user…
Shopback only appears to be showing 30% at the moment. Can anyone else confirm this?

    • Yep, seems like the deal has expired. If you search Ozbargain this deal appears fairly regularly so keep your eyes open for the next one

  • Will I be eligible with a new email address as a "new customer"

  • If you missed it last time around this deal is back at the moment.
