  • Got these from the last time they were this price and they're good enough for my needs! Have not yet tried the 7.1 feature though.

On the market to get new headphones. Think for the price this is a good deal?

Not sure at this stage if I should put the $59 to something better perhaps?

Will use for more for work and movies rather than gaming.

    Thoughts??

I prefer the Cloud 2 which I got for $69 a while back. Realistically at this price, they are good. Prices I don't think will fall much as demand is so high on headphones right now.

    • Not bad in a pinch. Rather the Clouds from HyperX but these perform well.

Comfy big ear cups and good response. My issue is no inline controls (they are under the cups).

    • bought these from msy for $75 a couple years ago and they were really uncomfortable. Upgraded to Cloud 2s and they are so much better.

  • Want some new head phones for the PS4 but wondering if this will have compatibility with the upcoming PS5?

    Any thoughts?

    • Weren't the specs for the controller revealed?

On a side note, I really wish they would make the controller split into 2 for use with PSVR, maybe they'll think of that when the new PSVR is revealed.

There are only two headphones that natively give virtual surround for PS4.

Those would be the two headphones that Sony makes. One is around the same price as this, the other is around $150.

If you want virtual surround with other headphones you need an external mixer such as Astro or your PC sound card assuming you have a TOSlink input.

No idea if they're going to change this scummy policy for PS5.

  • Is this any good for work conferences?

    • yeh they'll work.. no bells or whisltes that come with call centre grade headsets but when we got desparate i bought some gaming headsets for our support guys to work from home and no issue's sound and voice quality were good .. they werent these and were even cheaper (crappier) so i'd say this would be fine too.

have been using these for the past few weeks and no complaints from my gaming/conference calls

Ordered these last month with Microsoft 20% eBay deal for $47

decent audio and mic pick up

This is a kraken good deal!

  • Purchased about 6 months ago, moved from some Plantronic RIG 400s. Noticeably better.

  • Hey guys what type of headphones work with xbox one x? . My audio technical ad700x don't work with chatting and neither do my
Astro a 50 don't work either? I'm thinking something like senheiser cloud 2 or logitech may work? Possibly these even. Thanks guys.

  • Thought of buying these but went with the HyperX Stingers - Been a great pair of cheap headphones. Wonder if these would have been better though.

Now I'm looking for something wireless to upgrade to. Trying to make my desk cord free.

You made the right choice with HyperX.

    • Hyper x stingers are far better quality than razer hut they make nice mice and keyboards imo. I hear there soundbar is also pretty OK. From my exp hyper are super comfortable and light aswell.

    • Good. The krakens are reviewed pretty badly amongst the headphone crowd. The HyperX stingers are the best headphones in this price point.

Not sure why alot of others here are saying the Krakens are good headphones.

Headsets are hard to come by right now particularly budget ones. Given the circumstances these are a solid buy right now for the price

  • Bought one through the eBay store.

Going to give it a go, I've been having issues using wireless headsets with random dropouts and stuff.

  • Thanks OP - eBay Store now sold out FYI.

  • Unfortunately they look like they're sold out on the Microsoft store as well..

  • Had one. After one month of usage changed them. Reason: it's not comfortable for me for wearing it for few hours long. Should work for short meetings. But also must say that mic & sound overall is good.

    • What do recommend instead for budget gaming?

      • +1

Before I had wired Plantronics headphones, they are good.
Currently I got Logitech G935, it was really good discount for them (don't remember which price thought).
It's not really budget… But sometimes it worth to add a bit more and enjoy device for longer. They are decent. Except RGB. But luckily you can turn it off.

  • Mine just got delivered. Super impressed with the delivery speeds!

  • Too late Oos :(

    • Picked Hyperx Wireless Stinger instead for $129 special from Umart.
