To support Play At Home, PlayStation will try to make those occasionally dull moments more exciting by offering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey available for free* for a limited time through digital downloads from April 15 at 8pm PDT through May 5, 2020 at 8pm PDT Once you redeem the games, they are yours to keep.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

For most of you, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will need no introduction. This three-game collection from the masters at Naughty Dog includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception—all meticulously remastered for PS4. We can’t imagine a better time for globe-trotting adventures with Nathan Drake, an iconic cast of characters, and thrilling treasure-hunting action gameplay.

Journey

Then there’s Journey, a beautiful, celebrated adventure that is as moving as it is mysterious. The game’s life-affirming message is timeless, and perhaps more important now than ever before.

Free for all PS4 users, PlayStation Plus subscription not required

For those that have a little more time on their hands, you can receive a third free game, being Knack 2. However you'll need to set up a PSN account on the German store.

The process is very simple and is no different to setting up an account on the US PSN store - once the game is made available for free from 16th April this simply needs to be downloaded for free from the German PSN store, after which the game will be perfectly playable from an AU PSN account.

      I’m one of the 7 as I don’t have PS Plus, was about to buy the physical. Can anyone comment on Uncharted 4 multiplayer? Is it still active atm?

      I might grab PS Plus too while I’m at it to have all 4

        I couldn't believe how few games I found of Uncharted 4 multiplayer over the weekend. I just gave up eventually.

              @[Deactivated]: To be fair, it's a 4 year old game that was primarily single-player focused to begin with. Even with it currently being free on PS+, I wouldn't necessarily expect to find a huge number of people still playing the multiplayer at this point in time.

      I have them but I could never finish 3 on ps3 because of bugs in the game. When I try to escape the crashing down castle it freezes

      You will have to delete the physical install. If you try to add the digital copy it will say you already own that product but it will still want the disc to play. As long as you delete the physical install it will allow you to get the digital copy.

        Mine just has 2 installs, one with a disc symbol, one without. I put all the disc versions in a separate folder.

      I have the disc version and I had to removed from the hard drive. Then I went to the PS store to claim the digital version.

      Yes. I had to delete the disc version of Uncharted and download the digital version. Save files rolled over.

    Already got these, but geez, they are all great. Journey and Uncharted 2, in particular, are absolute classics - 2 of gaming's all-time greats.

      It was previously offered as a 'free' game for PS Plus. Contact Amazon CSR and have it cancelled (assuming you cannot cancel the order now). It's normally quite easy to cancel an order not yet delivered. There appears to be a big backlog of Amazon online orders at the moment.

      Thanks! You reminded me a have a Playstation account from my PS3. If I can get these I can replay them if/when I finally get a PS4 (I'm too busy playing PC and Switch games, I'll probably get a second-hand one after PS5 is out, LOL)

    Journey is fantastic!!

    Can't imagine I'll ever bother touching Knack.

    Uncharted I haven't really played, but doesn't seem like my type of game. I've heard it's great though

    Sweet, I still only have the physical PS3 releases.

    Unpopular opinion: I thought Journey was a pretty boring "game" when it was released. It was a lot of slow walking up a hill and over hyped.

    I've always been meaning to give it another shot though, so this is perfect to try it again.

      I played when it was free on PS+, and having a random person who I couldn't communicate with travel through the whole game with me in one sitting really added to the experience. Now that it's free, there should be a surge of players to be matched with.

        Good point, I played it at like 1am W.A. time on PS3 in 2017… So yeah it was dead haha.

        I'll give it another shot now on PS4 given it has a resurgence. May even clean up the PS3 trophies too.

    Knack 2 was surprisingly really fun! It was like the old GOW gameplay without tearing heads off.
    I scored it when it went "free" at launch for an hour if anyone remembers haha

      Start from the first game. It’s shorter than the others and it’s a good introduction to the main characters. If you enjoy the game, you’ll probably enjoy the rest of the series imo.

      Start from Uncharted 4. It might seem a bit weird, but Uncharted 1 is a bit of a pain to play nowadays as it has not aged well.

      If you start from Uncharted (1), then there is a good chance you get fed up quite early and then question why so many people rave about this series.

      UC4 is at least current gen. If you like it well enough, then maybe you will be willing to go through UC1, UC2, UC3. Out of the four, UC2 is probably the most action packed and arguably the best in terms of story (and the pacing is good), but the final boss for 2 is a bit of a pain (there is a dodgy loophole around it).

      Lost Legacy is a cut down version of UC4 mixed with UC2 (but with UC4 level graphics). If you are short on time, then that one is a good one to play. The only down side is that the main characters are two side characters in the series. Chloe is a popular character among fans, but if you have not played UC2, you may question why Chloe was chosen for the DLC.

      If you can only play one, and you have a bit of time: Uncharted 4. If you don't have time: Lost Legacy is the shortest of all. However, as Nathan Drake collection free offer only gives you access to UC1, UC2 and UC3, if you can only play one of those: Uncharted 2 is probably the best one.

    I am still holding out for an unmissable deal on the PS4 Pro to get in on this. Played first 3 UC on PS3…

    Is there any way I can queue these for DL without actually owning a PS4? ie on old PS3 acc or online? Would love to have them ready for when I do jump into the PS4 pool.

      You can "purchase"/claim them online or from the app without needing to download them. It'll be in your game library for whenever you want to access all your purchased games.

      Every PSN account on your console can be set as the Primary console account. Meaning, you go to each account and set it to Primary account for that one console. Therefore, any account on that one console can use/play any games owned by any account. Hope that made some sense…
