    • Hi Yrrehsx. Sorry but we're unable to tailor packs. Maybe hang on to the Charonay and take it to to a friends place post-COVID 19. CHeers! RD :-)

  • Hi guys, I just ordered a dozen of "GMH SA Shiraz 2018" is this the main wine advertised in this deal ? I do like a shiraz. Can anyone give me a personal review of it, is it fruity smoth or more of a sharp taste ? (and correct I am NOT a wine expert haha) :)

    • Hi Steve. It is. Lots of choice in there we know. I think the Lakeside SHiraz also works about at the same price. Similar wines, different labels.
If you hop on to our website at winesbygeoffhardy.com.au you'll find full tasting notes for all our wines right there.
All the best and thank you

      RD:-)

Thanks OP for what looks like an excellent deal. I've bought 3 X 12 of various stuff. I'm sure it'll be great.

    • Thanks you very much RD:-)

Just a word of warning - I ordered a case of the mixed dozen - great! Ordered a second case for my parents so we could do some virtual tastings.

In QLD they are using Fastway Couriers, who to quote wikipedia,
"With over 6,000 1-star reviews as of January 2020, Fastway Couriers ranks as one of the worst courier services in Australia."
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fastway_Couriers

So far this reflects my experience with them. The second case appears to have been stolen by the courier as it's gone from 'onboard' to 'left as instructed' within 60 seconds. Calling fastway seems about as effective as screaming into the sun. Their rank as one of the worst couriers in Australia is well earned.

my folks also live in a quiet culdesac, and have been home 24x7, so there is a 0% chance they've missed a delivery attempt. They've also never had a single item go missing, ever, from any other courier.

I've emailed [email protected] friday and again today to see if they can assist at all from the sender side as courier's please clearly do not want to talk to me, but so far I haven't heard back.

    10/10 wine
    0/10 courier service

Update - the team at Geoff Hardy have got back to me, they are helping out with the courier.

      • Hey Potatoface - Is this fixed yet? If not, please DM me. Richard, CEO.
Re Couriers: We use in order of volume: Couriers Please, Australia Post and Fastway. We ship around 70,000 parcels each year domestically. Our experience of Fastway doesn't reflect the above reviews. If it did, we wouldn't be using them. We stopped using Australia Post a year or two ago because their breakages increased beyond acceptable levels, particularly in VIC. That has since been resolved. We monitor by courier performance by State and have access to Account Managers to resolve matters where service levels become unacceptable.
Thankfully, incidents such as the one you outline above are rare. But please do DM me and I'll get in direct contact by phone or email to resolve immediately.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
        Best regards
        Richard :-)

        • +1

          Thanks Richard.
Not fixed yet, I've heard from Blakeley from your side who has raised with the courier & has been really good.
Still haven't heard a peep from Fastway.

Seems like couriers are probably Christmas level busy at the moment, so if I haven't heard anything more by Friday I'll shoot you a message.

          • @potatoface: Glad to hear B has been in touch and thanks for the update.
The couriers and Australia Post are experiencing levels of demand way above Christmas according to the few companies that we deal with. Please do keep in touch. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Hey OP, I ordered the virtual mix and a box of Shiraz, I just received my Shiraz, is the virtual mix coming later due to demand?

    • Hi Subydooby. We are aware in recent weeks of an increase in split deliveries by the Courier companies due to the levels of freight they're all carrying. We normally only experience it at Christmas time and also global pandemics now :-)

      • +1

ok thanks i will keep waiting…

  • +1

Wine arrived today. Time to drink (responsibly).

    • That was fast!

I received a dispatch email and my order is being delivered by Couriers Please but the tracking is currently at "no scan events found"

May I ask who delivered your package?

      • +3

HI Bonbi. We have been packing wine all weekend so some orders left on Friday and most will leave today and tomorrow. Couriers Please collected a batch at 10am this morning.
I am aware that the Courier companies are having trouble keep scanning up-to-date due to the volumes they're carrying. That said, Couriers Please have been one of the better ones at it. Hope that extra info helps a little.
        Cheers
        RD :-)

  • sold out of the virtual tasting?

    • Hi Masta. Not so much sold out more pausing it for the time being. Sorry if you missed out. Cheers RD :-)

    • +1

Hi Masta187. Just loaded up a final 19 Virtual Packs. If you hop on now you might get one. Cheers! RD :-)

      • Not sure how I missed this deal previously, but somehow I've just snagged one of the last Virtual Packs. You beauty

        • Only a handful left of the Virtual tasting packs. Glad you snaffled one. Get in quick! cheers RD :-)

      • +1

Unfortunately I missed out again lol. But thank you so much for letting me know. I will remember this next time when purchasing wine.

Ordered after close of business Friday, and received a dispatch notice today. Thanks op. Great service considering you guys copped a lot of orders. Cheers

    • +1

Hi Rooboy. Making great wine is only half the story. Got to back it up by getting the wine out quickly. We had the team in on Saturday and Sunday and called a couple in who had been working from home today. Everything should be out the door by COB tomorrow. Thanks again. RD :-)

      • +1

Hi mine says it has been dispatched, but the tracking number from Australia post still says that it hasn’t been scanned or picked up.

        • +1

Hi Mikky. Thanks for the note. The vast majority of all orders left on Monday and yesterday morning with Australia Post and the remaining 20 or so cases will leave today. I can, therefore, confirm that you delivery is on the way to you directly from our warehouse in McLaren Vale.

We send around 70,000 cases of wine domestically each year. Courier companies are carrying unprecedented loads at the moment and we are aware that there are some delays to deliveries and that Australia Post has been failing to update tracking information as well as experiencing delivery.

Thanks for your patience. Best regards RD :-)

        • Hey The mikky. Has your tracking been updated with Auspost yet? Mine is still un scanned.

          • @Rooboy123: Mine is the same, as well, I have spoken to them about it, apparently it’s pretty common, for the aus post site to be not working. And said they will start an enquiry if I haven’t gotten it after 5 - 7 business days.

            • +1

@The mikky: Cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah Auspost have been under the pump this month!!

              • +1

                @Rooboy123: @The mikky & @Rooboy123
                Aus Post update:
In respect of the tracking, Australia Post are experiencing some issues.

We are aware that Australia Post is experiencing significant increases in demand across their network and there are, therefore, delays to the usual delivery timeframes. We are also aware that their usual scanning process has been disrupted, making tracking orders more confusing and difficult than usual.

I can confirm that if you have a despatch notice from Australia Post your shipment is on its way.

Please dm me, email me [email protected] or call me on 08 8383 2700 if delivery problems persist.

Have a good weekend. Drink well :-)

                Cheers

@RD ADL: Thanks Richard. I wasn’t so much worried, as I was curious if others had been scanned yet. Looking forward to some SA wines. Cheers

                  • +2

@Rooboy123: mine was never scanned either, but did arrive this morning.

  • +1

My Pinot arrived today and I'm straight into it. At ~$11 per bottle this is a great deal, thanks RD ADL!

Hoping when my Geoff Hardy Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 arrives it is even better!

    • +1

My two picks too. You've chosen well. I have abottle of Cab earmarked for dinner this evening and a long distance Instgram live session with India's only master of WIne, Sonal Holland. Feel free to join us @pertaringawines on instagram. Cheers RD :-)

Ordered a dozen of the Hand Crafted Shiraz yesterday. Sounds great from the description. Just got the shipping notification, cant wait!
Have my eye on the Montepulciano for the next order.

Virtual Tasting Dozen just arrived! 🕺 Now which one do I open tonight!! 🤔

  • +1

Do all the red wines benefit with decanting?

    • Full tasting notes available at www.winesbygeoffhardy.com.au
Broadly the bigger, younger reds will indeed benefit. RD

  • How are they drinking?

    • More importantly how do you think they’re drinking? Keen to know. RD :-)

    • +1

Very well. Incredible bargain for the price.

  • +1

My Virtual 12 pack arrived 2 days ago ( SA ). We have opened 2 of the reds so far - want to see which ones we should maybe buy some more of. Bear in mind some of them have Corks rather than screw caps.

  • I got a notification with a despatch date of 19/04/2020 with Couriers Please up to Brisbane - but no wine yet and the tracking still says no scanning events. Anyone else still waiting?

    • +1

Hi @trawler. The wine would have left our warehouse on 20/21 April. We are aware that Couriers Please, Fastway and Australia Post are experiencing significant increases in demand across their networks and there are, therefore, delays to the usual delivery timeframes. We are also aware that their usual scanning process has been suspended, making tracking orders more confusing and difficult than usual (though this, to date has been a predominantly Aus Post issue).
We are working closely with all three to try and get your wine to your doorstep as quickly as possible. Please be assured that your wine is being delivered. Cheers RD :-)

      • +1

They just arrived. Many thanks looking forward to a drop :)

        • Hurrah! That seems bloody quick to be fair. Always a blessed relief when stuff gets there unscathed :-)

Got my VTD delivered early this morning in Sydney by Couriers Please

Mmm Lakeside shiraz with a donburi bowl. Going down nicely.

Reading all these posts, RD seems like a top notch bloke, fantastic customer service responding promptly to every query. Well done RD, I reckon you've won over a significant amount of new business from this listing. I'll be keeping my eye out on the next sale :-)

    • +1

Can definitely vouch for Richard. Super responsive to my PMs and extremely helpful, although my wine that left on Adelaide on Sunday hasn't arrived in Metro Melbourne yet. Hopeful for a delivery today.

      • @charchar - any update? Please feel free to DM me, email me at [email protected] or call me on 08 8383 2700 and I'll personally look into it for you. Thanks for your patience. Have a good weekend. Cheers! Richard :-)

        • +1

All good Richard, it arrived this afternoon. It was a bit worrisome as the last update was that it had arrived at the Melbourne depot on Tuesday. Thanks for checking in.

          • @Charchar: Great to hear. Enjoy my friend! Have a great weekend. Richard :-)

      • I really wish people would ease up about the deliveries, they will arrive. I bought a bunch of stuff from Adidas on the 9th April and it still hasn't arrived.
Bought from Puma and delivery took just over 2 weeks…..mind you the factory is 3km's from my house! Also bought a juicer from ebay - seller in Sydney (local stock) and delivery to Melbourne to 4 weeks!

        • +1

There certainly is a huge upswing in demand for delivery/courier services and Australia Post particularly have problems which they are adresssing.
We order things online for ourselves (usually more wine, Rodd & Gunn and Booktopia for me!) and we too are experiencing delays with our own personal shopping.
That said, everyone can rest assured we are doing our level best to get wine to you as quick as we can. Our normal service standard I insist on is same day despatch. After last weeks orders from the wonderful community here that 'blew out' to 72 hours with the final orders despatched by Tuesday afternoon.
It's our interest to get it to you as quickly as we can. To delight you with great customer service, firstly, so you'll be inclined to support us again. Secondly because the sooner you're drinking it, the sooner you'll re-order!
Most of all, to the broader Ozbargain community - thank you for your support for our family's wines this week. It is greatly appreciated.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Drink well (and responsibly). Stay safe.
          All the best
          Richard :-)

    • Thanks Peanut Farm - appreciate the kind words. If only my wife (Geoff's daughter) thought the same ;-)
      Richard :-)

    Hey OP,
Just bought another 6 bottles of Lakeside Shiraz after trying them out in the Virtual Tasting Mix. Loved this shiraz, delicious and smooth.
    Thanks!
PS Not worried about delivery, they'll get here when they get here!

    • +1

Hi Tobia. Thanks for the feedback and subsequent order. Hoped you used the OZBARGAIN code which is still active. Cheers! RD :-)

      • +1

        I sure did!

And on top of that, ordered at 7.30AM and received the same day! (I do live in Adelaide..)

        Thanks again.

        • Wow. That’s awesome. I’ve never heard of same day before. Enjoy and most importantly, thank you. Richard :-)

  • I can't find the virtual tasting pack. Has that been removed? Thanks

    • Hi Markymark77 - All things pass I'm afraid. Still lots of deals on there, two mixed packs and I think about 13 other wines available at wholesale prices. Enjoy! Cheers RD :-)

  • +1

Thanks OP, just got mine delivered today (WA). Totally forgot about it haha
