Working just picked up some durif and tasting dozen for the rest :)

    • +1

Yay! Thank you very much. It's running down in volume the Durif. Good buy. It will benefit from a little decanting prior to drinking. Time for a glass for me whilst I answer you all I think :-) RD

      • +1

Would like to support you but I don't like Shiraz. What red do you recommend?

        • +1

Hi Snensnay. A person after my own heart. I'm more of a Cabernet man. Here's a few picks:

Most Popular: The Virtual Mixed Pack
Something different: Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy Mixed Pack
Personal favorite: BY:Geoff Hardy Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 (Trophy Winner, Best Cabernet Sauvignon, Adelaide Hills Wine Show 2019)
Best value quaffer: GMH Red Meritage 2018 (Cabernet, Merlot, Petit Verdot Blend)

Hope that helps with a few picks but please let me know if I can help further. Cheers! RD :-)

          • @RD ADL: Thanks. No 6 pack option in your personal favorite (Cab Sav)?

            • +1

@snensnay: Bought a dozen of the Cab Sav and half a dozen Pinot.

              Looking forward to it!

              • @snensnay: Just an FYI - New bottling of the BY:Geoff Hardy Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is now available in six packs :-)

            • +1

@snensnay: Sadly that Cabernet is packed only in dozens. Watch this space though. Next bottling will be in 6pks but it's few weeks away yet. The Pinot is a great value Pinot - a pinot at that price point that tastes like Pinot is rare. Thank you. RD :-)
PS It's looking bloody good tonight though. Two glasses in answering you all on here :-)

              • +1

@RD ADL: All good, ordered the dozen anyway!

  • +1

I would highly recommend the Lagrein. Perfect for the colder months.

    • You're not kidding. Saves putting the fire or heater on in the house that wine! Thanks for the continued support. It's very much appreciated. Cheers! RD :-)

    • How does it compare to a big Shiraz?

      • Similar in palate weight but different flavor profile. A good alternative to shiraz. Cheers RD :-)

  • +2

Had been resisting so far the deals but all the comments made me order a virtual dozen. Hope it arrives soon now. So that i can order some more before 30 April.

    • +2

Hi Nnad. Thanks for taking the plunge, we won't let you down on bang for buck. We'll continue running deals I think as long as the 'current situation' (read this dastardly virus) has us all locked up at home. Trying to spread a little cheer from our family to yours to keep a smile on peoples faces. Enjoy and thank you. RD :-)

  • +1

First time poster - couldnt resist the value of the mixed dozen, so just ordered 2 dozen.

    • +2

Hi Peanut Farm. Thanks for the order. We'll be getting it off tomorrow. All the best RD :-)

      • +1

Fantastic, this is the type of service that wins repeat customers - wines have to be top notch of course & great value but it's the service that matters too. Keep up the great work.

        • +1

Thanks for the kind words. You're entirely right. There's lots of great wines out there and service is very much a differentiation. RD :-)

  • +1

          • @RD ADL: Hi I haven't received a shipping notice? Can you let me know if it's shipped and with which courier service please. I've had couriers please deliver other parcels to completely different addresses. So keen to follow up.

  • +1

Great deal, grabbed the virtual taster dozen! Good timing with the weather turning too, looking forward the reds in particular ;)

    • Bloody cold tonight in McLaren Vale I can tell you, those winter reds will save putting the wood fire on for a few weeks yet! Enjoy and thank you dfitzpatrick. All the best RD :-)

  • +1

Looking forward to trying my virtual dozen :)

    • Something for everyone in that pack including a Trophy Winner and a few bubbles to get the home party started! Thank you. RD :-)

  • +1

Just ordered virtual taster. Can't wait. cheers

    • Hi harryzee. On its way to you shortly. Thank you. RD :-)

  • +2

I might be an idiot but where is the link to the actual Shiraz at the advertised price?

    • +1

Hi Boz. The link is www.tractorshed.com.au - the wines in question referenced in the title are:
      GMH SA Shiraz 2018
      Lakeside SA Shiraz 2018
The per bottle price quoted in the title is when it is bought as part of a dozen. The Moderator felt it necessary to amend the title to include Minimum six bottle purchase (true) but put an inaccurate amount as the six pack price making the title a tad contradictory. I've requested some help from them to fix it. It's only a couple of $ but important all the same :-)
Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience and thanks for asking.
      All the best
      RD :-)

      • Titles must always state the minimum spend required to get the deal. Your original title of $8.25/bottle was misleading as there is no way to purchase just 1 bottle.

I have now updated the title to reflect both 6 bottle and 12 bottle prices including 10% discount. Please check that it's correct.

        • Only as misleading as your inaccurate revision.Thank you for correcting, however. Cheers RD :-)

          • @RD ADL: I've only made one revision today and just asked you to check the price.

            • @moocher: Which I've done. Thanks for the help. Cheers RD

      • +1

Got it. Ordered a six pack of each.

        • +1

Don’t really rate the Lakeside (not as full bodied as I was hoping for), the GMH is terrific though!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Going to get the mixed dozen later. Also going to spread the words so my sil might get a mixed dozen too.

    • That's great - deals will be up until 30 April - and maybe even after. All the best RD :-)

  • +1

Grabbed the virtual taster dozen, I like the idea of a variety to try rather than 6 or 12 of the same.

    • +1

Hi bee. Yes, we normally hold a few tasting weekends but obviously precluded from doing that right now and doesn't work for our interstate friends. So, we finally bent and offered a Virtual Tasting Pack - a bit labour intensive but we've been having fun with it and hope you do too. Thanks for the support and the comment. All the best RD :-)

  • +1

Thanks OP,too good to pass up.Got the Virtual Dozen and a dozen of the Lagrein to fill out the order….
    Cheers!

    • Legend. Dynaflow, thank you. There's a lot of talk from folk on the thread about the Lagrein. It's a while since I've tried one. Will have to do so tomorrow!` Cheers RD :-)

    • +1

Our pleasure for the deal. Our thanks to you for the order. All the best RD :-)

  • its charging 10 for shippin after code?

    • Hi Xbai - So, it charges the shipping at $10 but will then include it in the discount at checkout once you have input the OZBARGAIN code. Sorry a bit confusing but the bean counters like it that way hahaha. Cheers for the support RD :-)

      • +2

ah,i see. legend, thanks. got the, dozen so wine for the week sorted ;)

        • hahah nicely. Glad I could help. thanks mate :-)

  • +1

VTD for me. SA Great!! Cheers RD

    • Thanks mate, our pleasure. Hope you enjoy! RD :-)

  • +1

Can't wait to check it out. Virtual dozen for me too. Thanks :)

  • +1

bought a virtual pack too, I am excited :)

  • +1

Thanka RD. Ordered the virtual dozen. Do you have any recommendations for any shiraz which can be cellared for 5-10 years?

    • +1

      On the www.tractorshed.com.au page:

Lakeside & GMH SA Shiraz 2018: 3 to 5 years but more of a drink now style
Hand Crafted McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018: 5 to 8 years
Barbara Hardy Premium McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018: 5 to 8 also BUT $3 of every bottle donated to a foundation to preserve, restore and protect great swathes of bushland in SA. Feel good whilst drinking, whats not to like about that. Cheers! RD :-)

  • +1

VTD for me too after missing out on that Liquorland deal. Thanks.

    • Thanks for cutting out the middle-man and coming straight to the source producer! Thank you RD :-)

  • Hi RD, I am a Shiraz fan: full bodied, smooth. Should I go for GMH SA Shiraz?
    Thanks.

    • Hey Cosmos - it's the GMH at that price point for me, though I prefer the look of the Lakeside label. Up from there in the Shiraz either the Hand Crafted or the Barbara Hardy. Enjoy RD :-)

      • +3

Thanks RD. I see that you have been patiently responding to most of the posts, good to see that.
I have bought a 12 pk., that way I can taste most and choose a favourite for later. Hoping that I won't be disappointed :-)

I would prefer to avoid paying middlemen (DM, LL or others) and directly pay the producer/farmer.

        Cheers.

        • Cheers! Generally good to keep the middle men out. Enjoy the wines and most of all thank you. RD :-)

  • +2

Wow, how many bottles sold in the last 4 hours? Unreal

    • +13

      A few :-)
Enough to ensure I'll be up early, with plenty of deodorant and helping the team get a few orders out!
To the OzBargain community, thank you. I'll have to head off surely as my wife (Geoff Hardy's daughter) Bec is just about to serve dinner.
Thank you from our family to yours.
Stay safe, be kind to each other.
      Richard (aka RD :-) )

  • +1

Went the VTD - a great idea - thank you! No need to say thanks back - I've been super impressed with your responses so far so you don't no need to add another one :)

  • +1

  • +1

Great offer. I am interested in buying a mixed dozen. I entered the OZBARGAIN code. It applied the discount but a charge of $5 delivery was present. Postage to the Adelaide Hills 5231. Should it be free postage?

    • +2

Hi Dann. It will apply the postage charge but then applies the same amount as a discount at checkout. Please DM me if i can help further. Cheers! RD :-)

  • +1

Thanks OP!! Ordered Virtual Dozen. If this is nice, Premium is the next on the line :)

  • Torn between the VTD and the mixed dozen, OP, could you please advise me on the difference?

    • +1

VTD - has 1 bottle each of the 12 wines listed from the top on that page

Mixed Dozen - 3 bottles of Gruner Veltliner 2018, 2 bottles each of Durif 2017, Tempranillo 2018 and Lagrein 2018, 1 bottle each of Nero d'Avola 2018, Montepulciano 2018, Tannat 2018

      • You got it :-)

        • Haha yes that I saw, which one would you recommend, OP? Besides the fact it’s all personal rate and all..

      • +1

Thank you so much. First time and just ordered Virtual Dozens

  • +1

Ripper deals, thanks op. Also glad to see I’m not the only one that may have increased purchasing alcoholic beverages! In a responsible manner of course!!

  • +1

Looking forward to tasting the two six packs of Shiraz purchased, thanks for the discounts on price and shipping….love the McLaren Vale region.

  • @Richard, how long before ordering and posting, and delivery?
    Just a rough estimate. Thanks.

    • +1

Hi Varunpunt. Well, the offer has been a little more popular than we thought. We'll be packing all weekend to get all orders out within 72 hours at the latest. From there, depending where you live it can take up to 5-7 working days with the couriers for interstate from SA, slightly longer for WA and TAS in our experience at the moment. Rest assured, we're tring to get the wine in yours hands as quickly as we can. Thanks for the support, it means a lot. Richard :-)

  • I’d like to order the Virtual mix but am really not a fan of Chardonnay. Any chance to swap this for a red?
