Joyce Mayne Also Offering Buy One Get One Free on AMD Laptops

110

Same deal as the Harvey Norman offer - buy one AMD Laptop, get another of equal or lesser value for free. Instore shoppers only, and doubtlessly some exemptions probably apply.

I read somewhere that the sale finishes at HN on Sunday, whereas Joyce Mayne is advertising that the offer ends on Monday.

I couldn't find a link directly to this offer on their webpage, but have seen in advertised on TV a couple of times in the past 10 minutes.

One example of a price from their website is the Toshiba Satellite C665D/014 for $447, so divide this by two and you have spent just 223.50 on each.

  • Joyce Mayne is a sister company of HN….this week its quite funny in Morayfield Clive Peters is closing down to make way for Joyce Mayne so going to have 2 companies which are basically the same next to each other now HN and Joyce.

Exactly, people need to realise that Harvey Norman, Joyce Mayne and Domayne are the one company, with similarly annoying ads.

You will often see the same promo cycled through the three different brands, or as with this promo, run concurrently.

In my opinion, these places are nice to browse at, but never to buy from.

Occasionally, there's a good sale (at least at HN's computer section). But you do have to thank them for setting up these stores for us to go browse… and then buy somewhere else that's cheaper.

        • The best is to haggle at Harvey Norman and get it cheaper than anywhere else.

Exactly, never buy from. Go to Officeworks, friendlier and ALOT easier to deal with. Good to see other people know of the 3 companies are the 1.

      • Clive Peeters was a Gerry Harvey company too:

In a report to the Australian Stock Exchange this morning, Harvey Norman Holdings Limited has announced that The Clive Peeters and Rick Hart brand formats have not achieved the requirement for ongoing investment by the Company. Given this, 16 of the 25 Clive Peeters and Rick Hart stores will be converted to Harvey Norman complexes, 2 will be converted to Joyce Mayne complexes, 4 Clive Peeters stores will be closed and 3 Rick Hart stores will be closed.

Yep - as soon as Harvey Norman their ads took on the same annoying air.

The Joyce Mayne store here (used to be Clive Peeters,) although owned by Harvey Norman is like chalk and cheese compared with HN. The staff are fantastic, and go out of their way to please. We were recently in the market for a digital camera, and the salesman suggested that if we were likely to be buying 'tomorrow' rather than that day, they had a 30 per cent off sale starting the next day (hadn't been advertised at that stage.) He was also more than happy to find an SD card and charged batteries to allow us to take pics with various cameras and load them on a computer to compare the quality of the pics.

Can't ask for better service than that!

        • Just remembered - HN actually WERE advertising the 30 per cent off sale at that stage and it had started that day. The sales person in HN denied any knowledge of the sale (and didn't bother to go check) and offered me a discount that was less than 5 per cent of the shelf price.

Like I said, chalk and cheese.

Actually HN has become quite good for pcs! Bought an asus from them for under 700 on one of their recent sales. Dick Smith had the exact same model for 899. They would not price match.
