    On 4th July when this fare was announced, I immediaely went on line to see about booking two seats. Virgin show all the flights on their system on a week by week basis. I checked EVERY week (and therefore every flight) from the date they commence flights until the last date for which they are taking forward bookings (11 mos. from now), and there were absolutely ZERO flights on offer at the advertised price of $1234.

    It is a crock, a sham, a publicity stunt. I'm sure they had a couple of seats at that price, but it seems unlikely that it was more than a token number. Don't you just hate that sort of insincerity?

    I found quite a few for $1268 for MEL -> LAX

    Sure its not $1234 but its not to be sneezed at….
