put the 2.4kg in the title?

  • So $75 worth of Eye Fillet, $8 worth of Mince. $7.5 Whole Chicken, $8 Chicken Breast KG = $98.5
And I guess most people don't care about the bottle of wine, like myself.
    What about delivery?

Furthermore, values provided above for cuts of meat are on the top end, and I can usually source for at least 15% less then quoted values.

    Where is the deal?

    • +1

Where are you getting eye fillet for that price? It's $44 a kilo just at Coles.

      • +2

I'm in melbourne and local butcher had it for $25 a kg, on special though but I think it's around $35 normally. Go to dande market and you can get it for around $30 a kilo, sometimes less.

        • Reckon it's a regional thing then. Local butcher in Newcastle burbs has eye fillet for $63 a kg!

        • +2

Different type of meat, different market, different price. Their eye fillet is comparable to Woolworths Grass Fed (not the normal which is $44/kg) Eye fillet which is $59/kg for Sydney (where they are based in).

For instance Harris Farm has economy eye fillet for $28/kg https://www.harrisfarm.com.au/products/beef-eye-fillet and then Grassfed one for $70/kg https://www.harrisfarm.com.au/products/beef-eye-fillet-steak

          • @Bigboomboom: Yes there's no doubt there's different quality beefs, but I think the $44 at coles is about the same as the $30 you can get at the local market.

  • Even buying the standard stuff from Coles or Woolies… I think you would struggle to get it all at this price without specials. You might have to settle for a $6 bottle of slightly-better-than-vinegar wine to sneak under $148.

    Seems like great value.

Lol, I used Woolworths values above…

      • +1

Must be really different in Newcastle.

        2.4 * $44
        1 * $9.5
        1 * 15
        1 * 7.5

That comes in at $138 or so… and that's not free range or premium meat, just your bog standard.

        • -4

Even using your figures, factoring in the $18 delivery, making the wine basically cost around $28, this is a subpar deal.

          • +1

@Talos2005: It's not bad. Probably good for quality meat. If I still had kids at home and reason to buy in bulk I may do it, even though they would only get the chicken and mince.

I recon the rib fillet is $30 per kg. Woolies less, some places more.

            • +2

@dmbminaret: Yup, have used Sutton meat in the past and it is top quality. I usually try to jump on these deals and get in with a 'queue the people complaining about the cost vs some sub par meat nearby' but always get beaten to it by that token person. CAn tell you that this would cost a lot more at my local butcher for lesser quality meat.

  • $18 delivery to QLD

  • If you're in WA and happen to have a Farmer jack's, they routinely sell theirs for anywhere from $14-18.99 a kilo. Sign up to their email and you'll get the deals first.

    FYI

  • +5

As much I like to support local or small business at time like this, I wouldn't just jump on your deal based on info just provided by OP.

    Suggestion to OP.

You want to reach those customers who love premium meat I suppose.

    What about suppling

    • A photo/link of photo of the packaging of the Eye fillet. This will help medium-size family to plan how they can storge or maybe even share this 2.4Kg meat as few can finish them in one go.

    • What is the normal sell price for the key item "16 x 150g Eye fillet" per kg? This should give your audience an idea of what grade/quality of meat they should be expecting and how much their saving will be.

Lastly, if you value the bottle of giveaway wine as "one extra 2x150g pack", you may as well give more detail of that fine wine. Otherwise maybe you should just remove it from your standard bundle.
See how no it becomes a distraction as people are not valuing an unknown brand of wine as much as you may think.

Hope you win some business here!

  • I ordered for the first time on the previous deal and looking forward to receiving it this Thursday. Can’t wait to receive it, as I have heard nothing but good things about the cuts.
