Nokia 7.2 for $383.20 seems a good deal

      • +3

        Excellent deal on excellent phone.

      • Cheers - added to description ;)

Unless you need NFC, I'd prefer a pocofone F1 personally.

        • Nokia 7.2 includes NFC and dual SIM with dedicated micro-SD.

gadgetguy review and techradar are both positive for the price point.

          • @mathew42: Yep totally agree if you need NFC and dual sim +microSD, this is a good deal. I'm just pointing out if you dont use NFC and only need dual sim or single sim + microSD, then pocofone is better value.

        • -1

Nobody "needs" NFC. A nice to have at best.

          • +1

@Brianqpr: Nobody needs a mobile phone by that logic. Obviously 'need' in this context means 'what i want out of my phone' and that might include NFC for contactless payments.

          • +3

            @Brianqpr:

            Nobody "needs" NFC.

As someone who no longer carries a wallet, I beg to differ. If I don't have NFC, then I cant do a lot of things that I need to be able to do. Paying for shit is just one of them.

wow how much nokia pay ebay to do this promo

  • +1

JB HiFi have Nokia 7.2 for $499. eBay price is $479 -$95.80 so $384.20 is cheaper.

Android One means OS upgrades and monthly security patches.

  • +2

I want the banana phone for $29.. same as JBhifi

    • i was just looking at that, when were they $29

  • +3

So it would appear that this is a genuine 20% off sale.
Mobileciti sell Australian models (not grey imports) of these Nokia phones so you get the proper Nokia warranty. Also Nokia phones are great phones to recommend to family/friends who want a budget device.
Regular software and security patch updates for 2 or 3 years. If you ever watch a Youtube channel called JerryRigEverything, you'll see him doing teardown and durability tests on phones. He usually finds Nokia phones to be excellently built and durable.

  • I dont need one…but im tempted to get a 2720 Flip….

  • Only items from Mobileciti is included so I think it's a store specific sale moving their Nokia stock rather than an actual Nokia sale?

    • .3 releases from Nokia are starting to appear, so that may be the reason.

  • 7.2 looks alright, but most of others are only 16GB data, woefully tiny these days, unless never take photos or install apps.

    • No microSD option?

      • +1

True, I looked at one and does have card slot, so ok for budget phone with extra 64/128 sd card.

  • +3

Still rocking a Nokia 8 but the headphone jack is a little dodgy now. Also the fingerprint reader has never been reliable. Still pretty quick, though, and gets pretty regular updates.

  • Nokia 7.2 or Redmi Note 8 Pro

    • +4

I wouldn't go anything that doesn't run close to pure Android.

  • -2

I was looking for something like this but with a lithium polymer battery

    • -1

      Thanks for letting us know.

    • Is there such a thing? i only know of OPPO

    • +1

Did you mean LiIo or LiPo? Or as opposed to NiMh?? I don't think you will find many phones with LiPo batteries in them… LiIo batteries are usually more stable, have more energy density and cost less to manufacture.

So, you want a phone with added costs, shorter life span, less charge and save 2 or 3 grams? Cool. Where can I get one of these…

      • Righto got my facts mixed up, back to the drawing board

Nokia's post sale support is terrible in Australia. Don't buy Nokia if you want any warranty or support.

I purchased a Nokia 5.1 Plus from OfficeWorks last year. The charging port failed, which is apparently a common fault during the warranty period. I tried calling Nokia in Australia but couldn't get anyone to talk to so I returned the phone to OfficeWorks for warranty repair. I heard nothing back for at least 8 weeks, and after following up, found that Nokia's repair agent had my phone for all that time, then sent it back to OfficeWorks saying that it would not honor the warranty because the screen was cracked. This was a blatant lie. The screen was not cracked when I turned the phone in for repair and thankfully it was not cracked when it was returned to OfficeWorks.

I politely expressed my disgust in Nokia's service to the manager at OfficeWorks who empathized with the debacle that Nokia is and provided me a full refund.

    OfficeWorks service 10/10.

Nokia's service -100. Worse than terrible.

I had a Nokia 7 plus it would only charge intermittently, I took it to JB bourke and JB Camberwell both said I had to go through the manufacturer and refused to help me. Worst experience. I ended up selling it on Gumtree with the receipt because I didn't want to deal with it anymore

      • +1

JB Bourke is notorious for that behaviour… Which is actually illegal under consumer law. I had to go there with my friend to explain to the manager that "no you cannot ask your customers to go to manufacturer for faults, it is illegal" and he tried to tell me no he was only suggesting this as it is faster, and I was like yeah sure… Anyways took a bit of time (more than it really should have) but they were about to close the store and for whatever reason he decided to "refund all the money, as he really cannot send the item for repair to manufacturer", funnily enough he only thought of this solution when I threatened to report to head office and accc. This was for a broken in design Dell laptop, but still at the same store.
I hate to be a pain in the ass but some of the retail managers force your hand really.

    • Hi, I also want to share a bit of my own experience too.
I couldn't disagree anymore about Nokia after-sales support as I have N8 Sirocco which got a cracked screen.
I went to JB-Hifi and was told "Sorry you need to contact Nokia Customer care as we couldn't do much here".
I also went to check the cost of fixing the screen in other third party.
OMG… that costs about 3/4 of the phone cost as the screen is built into LCD then fixing the screen would also mean to replace the LCD altogether.

I had called Nokia Customer care several times with no answer, I just gave up. This equals to n-on-existent service?
My only last resort is to knock my Insurance door but… Oh bugger! That also gives me another hassle to deal back with Nokia phone?

I can't imagine if they would survive further.

Anyone who is interested in getting "affordable" Nokia phone, please consider this experience as well.
      Cheers.

    • +1

I actually had the opposite experience, very recently.

I contacted Nokia directly (2/4/20) about my Nokia 8 as its camera was noticably vibrating when the camera is turned on. They directed me contact QSL (their local service agent), phone was picked up by Toll on 3/4/20, arrived at the service centre 6/4/20. I got notified that the phone had been shipped back to me 8/4/20. Toll dropped the ball, but I had my phone back 16/4/20 after a few misadventures with the delivery by Toll (2 abortive attempts to deliver, 3rd time lucky).

No charge on the repair. No cost to me to get the phone to/from the service centre.

Nokia service good, service agent good, TOLL not so good.

PS I really like my Nokia 8, and am hoping the 8.3 or a Nokia 9 update will provide something flagship competitive

  • come on Amazon! you can do better!

    • +1

We are selling on Amazon as well, I can tell you Amazon can't beat this eBay deal, what's so good about Amazon? ;)

      • I have their gift cards.

        • They don't hire Jack…

Well, looks like he's on COVID isolation for this deal.

      • is the 7.2 out of stock now?

        • more stock coming, you can order now

  • Is this expired? Code not working for me.

  • eBay still shows the code but it's not working now? Is it still available?
