DJI Osmo 4K 12MP Handheld Gimbal Stabiliser Camera $288.15 Delivered @ Smart Home Store eBay

100
PBOLT15

Original Coupon Deal

[Edit 01/05: Seller dropped the list price by $30, thanks Doweyy for spotting it]

Good deal for a gimbal with 4K camera, no need to fumble around fitting on a smart phone or digital camera on a standalone gimbal when you need to use it. It uses the proven Zenmuse X3 gimbal camera assembly from DJI Inspire 1. It includes a flexi mic as well or plug in a third party mic like Rode. DJI GO app is also one of the better gimbal apps on the market. JB Hifi is currently selling it for $599.

Good price for brand new, but just a couple things.
Firstly you still need to fumble around with a phone to get the vision of what your actually filming.
Secondly this is discontinued by DJI.
Worth checking out if the plus is on discount…

  • I like the idea, but a 5 year old design…

If it is capable of doing the job and the price is a bargain, why not?
Sony A7 II was released in 2014 and is still popular and still selling.
People are selling second hand units for similar or only a little less than this.

Yeah, fair. I'm probably just trying to talk myself out of an unnecessary purchase

        • Yeah, OP's username speak for itself. 😆

LOL, I usually do the opposite. I need help…

  • Not worth the price, bought year ago from jbhifi.

Ended up returning it cause of heating issue. Paid under 250$ with free base stand

    Found link,.might be different model

I think the Osmo Pocket would be better then this. Not the same price though, but much small with a screen.

Osmo pocket is a newer product so the camera would be better and the price reflects that. I think the Osmo 4K gimbal itself is more hardcore as it came from the Inspire 1 drones with greater panning range. And you can connect app to to control it wirelessly. The Osmo Pocket does not, it requires a Wireless Module (separate purchase). Also the DJI GO app (Osmo 4K Gimbal) is more refined than DJI Mimo (Pocket).

  • how much lens distortion is there on this thing?

These are great for capturing footage when travelling. I took one all around the USA and it was great having such a small device over a bigger camera.

The DJI App is really useful too.

At this price I think it's a steal.

Just be aware the microphone is really shitty.

  • Not the primary use, I know… But can these be used as a webcam with Zoom conferences? Over WiFi?

    • AFAIK, no webcam function with either Osmo 4K, Osmo Pocket or Osmo Action.
