  • Does it include 1300/1800 numbers?

    http://www.liveconnected.com.au/index.php/sim-only/diablo-ro…

Give one good reason why people should choose your plan over LC plan. Plus ppl would choose optus over voda anytime.

    • No limit on inclusions
      The plan is not capped

    • +2

I haven't looked at this deal yet, but due to my personal experiences, I would choose Voda over Optus anytime.

  • no it does not include 1300/1800 number calls.

    • +7

Then clearly state this regarding 13/15/18 numbers in your first post.
Don't hide it in your T&C.

      • according to ozbargain rules does he have to or something?

        • If it states that it includes "free local and national calls" and mentions no exceptions then to me that means "no exceptions".

If it excludes certain calls then that should be mentioned in the title otherwise it is deceptive.

Hiding important facts in the maze of t&c's is no way to win customer sentiment.

  • +1

These were previously $19.80/month through suretelecom.
    Price rise != deal.

    • +1

The $19.80 deal is $39 per month, the $99 upfront payment gave the customer the first 5 months for $19.80

      • -4

Oh I'm sorry, do you not like it when misleading advertising comes back to bite you in the ass later?

You promoted it as $19.80/month. That's what I'm comparing it to.

        • +1

yes as it was mentioned in the deal heading, $19.80 for the first 5 months..This is $24 all through the contract.

  • +2

Please also include in your post the 2% credit card fee and the $5 SIM fee and there is no mention of what the excess data charges are.

    • -1

Please see T&C's if you have doubts, Data charged in 1 MB increments. Excess data 50 cents per MB.
*If your general usage is outside or above this plan, this offer is not suitable for you.
*This offer may be more suited to customers with very high call usage.

      • +1

"Data charged in 1 MB increments".

LOL… so if I just check some emails now and then it will cost 1MB each time?

        • yes charged at 1 MB increments as per the industry standards, also as previously stated if you use more that 2 GB per month on average this deal is not suitable for you

        • Ahh yeah the 1MB session limit is such a rort. And I think optus is one of the few that abide by that "industry standard"

I love how the OP says "if you use more than 2GB" per month, of course realistically if you check your email you won't have actually USED 2GB more like a few MB. Such such a rip.

        • +2

"yes charged at 1 MB increments as per the industry standards"

          How is this industry standards?

          LC charges at per KB.
          TPG charges at per 10KB.
Vodafone, the network you are using, charges at per 50KB.

Please point me to a site where this is 'industry standards'.

        • +3

I don't think you can honestly say the "industry standard" is 1MB increments. AFAIK most only charge in 10KB or 100KB increments.

      • +2

suretelecom, you are not learning from your previous deals. Keep hiding the details from the post, give us some junk excuses and treat ozbargain like free advertisement.

Put more details, the catches, contract requirements in the post and I am sure you will get more positive votes.

If still you like the way of sweeping everything under your T&C then please go somewhere you pay thousands of dollars for an proper newspaper/tv ad.

      • MMS not included.
      • International SMS/MMS not included.
      • +1

"Porting of mobile service number available." Any charges apply?
"international rates are available on request." Sounds so doggy to me, any pre-paid mobile providers got all rates listed.

        • No charges for porting your number

    • Good work, and thanks.

The OP SHOULD have done that instead of saying, this is a bargain so click through to our website to see the terms and conditions.

  • +4

$99 Cancellation fee applies to this 24 month contract and the monthly plan fee x remaining months on the contract

you are even worst than 3 mobile

    • -1

It is only an issue for people who plan to break their agreement. However exceptions do apply in extreme situations.

  • +1

Personally I still think this is a good deal, just that you have to weigh up whether you're ok with being locked into a 24 month contract. If you are, then this seems to have good value.

    • +2

It is not a good deal UNLESS you only use your phone for calling and sms locally in a high usage manner (very high I would say).

There are so many fine prints that you would get caught ended up paying so much more than $24 if you are not careful, plus you are locked into 24 months.

So if you take up this plan, make sure you:
      -Don't sms/mms internationally.
      -Don't mms locally.
-Don't use/rely on your data, because it is charged at 1MB per session, you get burned up before you know it.
      -Don't call 1300/1800/13 numbers.

Basically, pay $24 to call unlimited numbers locally, that's it. Don't use for anything else.

      • +2

dont forget the things you can do:

Unlimited Calls to local, national and mobile numbers
        Free voice retreivals

        • +1

Basically what I said in the post above. Just use it for calling/sms unlimited numbers locally (Australia).

Anything else you would get a surprise bill and end up paying more than $24. Which is rather inconvenient for most of the people.

It looks very much like you are trying to have people sign up without realizing all the fine prints and ended up paying more than $24 in the end. There is no way most of the users now-a-day would only call/sms local and mobile numbers. People will use data, mms, sms internationally, make some 13/18 calls etc.

      • +1

Thank you, as I sms internationally HEAPS since most telcos here don't charge extra and it's an easy way to update my family overseas.

      • +1

I don't know why everyone's going on about the 1MB increments, Woolies charge in 1MB incrememnts, Amaysim, Optus (and their iPad plans they charge in 10MB increments.)

Anyhow it's a bit disappointing that you stated in your last deal for $19.80/Month that there were no lock in contracts, and really if you want to keep posting on OzBargain be more clear on your T&C's and post them on your description.

Still seems like an ok deal.

        • With Amaysim, I'm on Pre-paid with 1GB data package, I know I shouldn't be using that much data.
I have read lot of posts on Whirlpool, so many "accidents" can happen and people could pay $10,000+ for the exceed data usage. I don't need to worry about that kind of incidents as if I use exceed 1GB Amaysim will simply disable the data connection.
With this $24 plan, there is nothing mention about the data exceed limit, and seems they are trying to charge everything they could, you may can negotiate with Virgin, Vodafone to reduce the huge data cost down to an affordable cost ($400 normally?), but with this one nobody knows, we'll see.

      • -1

Pretty sure the 1MB billing would be per day. So at worst you're losing 30MB per month out of 2GB. It's not that big of a deal.

And most people don't call 1300/1800/13 numbers from their mobiles, don't SMS/MMS internationally, and probably don't MMS much at all. So, like I said, if you're with being locked into a 24 month contract then it's probably a good deal (assuming you do make calls regularly).

        • Thank you. Additional bolt ons can be added to the plan for different services. e.g for $X extra per month would include 1300/1800 calls for example.

        • 1MB increments, which is 1mb or part there of.

Which in essence means each session will cost you 1MB per session and not per day.

        • How does "1MB increments" in essence mean each session? It can either be per session, or per day. For most companies it's per day, because 3G doesn't really have "sessions".

        • Actually YES 3G does have sessions. If you have a smart phone with push notifications turned on it keeps a session open,
maybe thats where your 1MB per day is coming from.

  • Quoting YTS
"Excess data 50 cents per MB"

Which equates to $512 per Gigabyte (as excess) so be VERY very careful with your data usage if you go with this.

    • This is correct. If your general usage is close to or over 2GB, this plan in not for you.

  • +1

from "Free Local and National Calls"

to "Free Local and National Calls - excludes 1300/1800/13"

    from "2GB Of Data"

    to "2GB Of Data - Excess @ $512 GB"

There ye go, openess in advertising.. if I can do it anyone can!

    …………………

@ YTS above>>… "use exceed 1GB Amaysim will simply disable the data connection." Brilliant! A telco with principle. Amaysim will have my business soon!

    • Hi, sorry I may be misleading, just to clarify something: I just switched to Amaysim PAYG plan recently for the mobile internet for Galaxy Tab, so I only bought $15 credit, signed the $10 1GB data pack and left $5 for the phone call, I think Amaysim will disable the internet when I used up my usage as well as the credit I left in my account, that's what I get from their T&C, and similar as Hello Mobile, my internet was disabled when balance down to 43 cents.

So to avoid paying too much than what I expected, I just would not recharge much more than $10.

  • Hello Mobile is the best ! spend your hard earned $24 bucks with www.hellomobile.com.au instead !

    • Hello Mobile is pretty awesome if you don't make many calls/texts. I was one them for a while, but after I did the maths I realised it wasn't right for me.

Say you make one call and one text per day. So 25c + 10c = 35c

      35c x 30days = $10.50

I could be paying $5/Month on LC and get $100 credit which would get me much, much more value.

  • I think Suretelecom notify you when you get close to the 2GB limit. Can you confirm this rep?

    • That is correct. We endeavour to get in touch with all customers once they have used around three quarters of their allowance so they have a chance to slow it down a little

  • comparing vodofone $45/month infinite plan, which includes a SGS2 for 24 months contract. Do anyone think this deal is a bargain?

  • Ban this Sure thing from oz bargain. too many hidden charges with non existent support. Oz bargain is not a free advert platform.

    • Sure Telecom has never hidden anything, every single exclusion is stated in the Terms and Conditions located on our website and a link is available to click on to answer everything. I dont understand how this is considered as hiding details from customers, and we do not consider oz bargain as a free advert platform, This is a bargain it has an unbeatable price and it is true value for your money.
