What is it about the perennial exclusion of the $20 card?

    • +2

There would be a higher profit margin for Apple and Coles on a $50 card, compared with a $20 card.

    • For some reason I read “perianal“ Which completely changes your inference! 🤪

Remember you can price match at OW

    • Until OW lowers their price.
Considering Coles and OW are related, OW would know this is coming up.

      • Had no difficulty price beating last time this offer came up.

      • +1

Ow were happy to price match last time coles had a 20% discount. They didn’t bother dropping their price.

  • Is it possible to use these to pay for YouTube and Netflix subscriptions if I don't use apple devices?

      • +1

how? he/she does not use iOS devices.

        • +5

An accountant should know these things

    • Is this possible for the Google Family Plan? As you get Youtube with Google Family Plan isn't it?

    • +4

I believe Netflix is only available to existing iTunes subscribers, i.e. you can't subscribe to Netflix anymore via iTunes.
Never heard that you can pay for Google services via an Apple product, that just doesn't make any sense.

      • +2

It’s true, you can pay for YouTube Premium via iTunes but it’s $5 more per month because of the 30% cut Apple takes from subscriptions. Signing up by the website is $15.

        • +1

After a year it is 15% which is reasonable IMHO.
Also, the negative thing with YouTube premium on say, an ATV is you don’t get 4K streaming as there is a spat between Apple and google, with google not using h.265 which everyone except YouTube uses, and Apple not using VP9 which YouTube uses

    • +3

You can use iTunes to pay for the subscriptions no matter what device you use, but you need to sign up and start the subscription on an iOS device or Apple TV.
Unfortunately Netflix no longer accepts new iTunes subscriptions but I believe all the other providers still do.

always been curious what sort of margin coles would make on Itunes GC

  • Can they be used to pay for Kayo subs and if so I might grab some for when the NRL returns this year

    • +4

Make sure to take advantage of the 3 Months Free BetEasy Kayo deal for the season instead, it still works fine up until 31 August sign ups and will cover the whole season if you sign up when it starts.

Price beaten at Officework by 5% again?

    • +10

AS soon as I walk in store, the staff at my local Officeworks know what's going on

Well the Ski mask is a bit of a dead giveaway to be fair.

  • ATO here I come!

    • ?

It’s just an extremely old joke based on a long running scam. I’m not sure what’s worse…. the scam calls or seeing this comment on EVERY iTunes deal.

      • Known ATO scam

  • Can you buy these on the website, or is it in store only? I'm currently stuck overseas and my iTunes subscription is going to run out soon so I want to get these while they're on sale…

    • You probably could buy this online and have them delivered, since they're physical cards so unless someone in your family sends you the numbers, I doubt you could use them oversea.

      • +1

i don't think they sell gift cards online…couldn't find them on coles online.

      • Unless they totally changed the way it works, you can ask someone you know to buy you the cards, scratch them for you, and send you pictures of the back of the card (as mentioned above). I managed to use them as a voucher/redeem from overseas about a year back.

  • Can you use this to buy apple airpods product?

    • +1

      no, this is for apps

For those interested in price matching with officeworks, make sure you tell them it’s on the current catalogue on page 41. They can look it up to confirm.

    • Just called OW - they won’t price match from the catalogue - it has to be available to purchase on their website with its own listing?? Has anyone had any luck with an OW price match? Was told it’s because they need to be able to verify “product, model number” etc which seems a bit irrelevant for gift cards…..

      • Try again. I've always had someone on the phone pricematch whenever Coles has had a sale.

      • Price matched in store at Keysborough OW

      • Update here: called back again next day - had no issues and for whatever reason, they calculated the discount incorrectly and purchased $100 gift cards for $76 each !!! Karma for the win!!

  • Price matched at Officeworks Camberwell Vic. The lady serving me even looked up the catalogue.

  • Price beat at Belconnen ACT. Total was $24.23
